Also who would win a war between china and the USA if it came to that? And would America be willing to risk going to war with china to defend another country?

Well the US are highly un reliable now hey.But if China invaded Australia Britain would see that as an attack on the commonwealth dragging NATO into an all out conflict.

India would join in. If China went that Rogue the threat of Nucoear retaliation would be on the table.

India are crazy enough to Nuke China.

North Korea is looney enough to Nuke India.

China and India are almost at war as it Is.

I think the US has more nukes than Russia and China combined by fair margin. In saying that, they have enough between them all to destroy the world many times over.

Edit: turns out that Russia has more nuclear warheads than the US but it's anybody's guess whoses would be more devastating. The US military is far bigger than Russia's though.

Putin has no fear of Trump or Biden. He had more control over Trump though.

I honestly think he's done this to keep hold of power. He knows his government is unpopular, the poor uptake in their own vaccine is proof that the majority of the people don't trust the government but currently don't have an alternative to vote for. Putin poisoned the last guy that stood up to him.

China calls for talks over Ukraine, green-lights Russian wheat import​

China repeated calls for talks to resolve the crisis in Ukraine while refusing to criticise Russia’s attack, and in a move that could help reduce the impact of Western sanctions against Moscow, approved imports of Russian wheat.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told reporters that “the Ukraine issue is complex in its historical background ... what we are seeing today is the interplay of complex factors.

“We still hope that the parties concerned will not shut the door to peace and engage instead in dialogue and consultation and prevent the situation from further escalating.”

Although China has not endorsed President Vladimir Putin’s recognition of independence of eastern Ukraine’s separatist areas or Putin’s decision to send Russian forces there, Ms Hua said China “called on parties to respect others' legitimate security concerns.”

“All parties should work for peace instead of escalating the tension or hyping up the possibility of war,” Ms Hua said, repeating the language China has consistently used to criticize the West during the crisis.

“Those parties who were busy condemning others, what have they done ? Have they persuaded others?” Ms Hua said.

China and Russia have largely aligned their foreign policies in opposition to the US and its allies. Ms Hua did not describe Russia’s actions as an invasion or directly refer to the movement of Russian forces into Ukraine.

However, over 30 years since the fall of communism and the separation of the Soviet Union, NATO despite promises to Russia has continued to advance Eastward. Now despite Russia declaring it a no go. NATO is openly courting Ukraine. Despite Russia repeatedly wanting limits to NATO set. Russia's concerned were dismissed out of hand. This is very recent. They called for Russia to de escalate while sending arms to Ukraine.

On 22/6/1941 the Nazis invaded Russia through Ukraine, as a result Russia lost up to 28 million people, so foreign forces in Ukraine provokes a larger fear in ordinary Russians, where very few families did not suffer losses in WW2. On top of that the US backed coup in 2014 had a strong neo nazi element which alarmed the Russians, which is reasonable given history.

On the other hand Ukrainians have reasonable resentment of Russians due to the forced famines in the 1920-30s. Significant numbers of Ukrainians welcomed the Nazis in 1941 and helped them throughout. Once given power in 2014 the first laws passed were anti Russian language and culture. Hence we have the Crimea and Donbass situations because both areas are Russia ethnically.

The answer to me is to remove the ultranationalist right wing from the Ukrainian Government and establish a form of neutrality between Russia and Ukraine. First being no NATO. Ukraine is an independent nation but needs to either peacefully let those who want emigrate to Russia or cede the Donbass to Russia.

All this has been stirred up by the US, Ukraine deserves security and so does Russia. My view is get the Yanks the hell out of it. There are many points of argument between Ukraine and Russia, but historically there are many family and social ties. All neighbours have to learn to live together, friendly and respectfully is the best way. That can be achieved if the West keeps out.

If they take over that land hopefully the continue the maintenance. More the major bits over the reactor like the dome that has been constructed.
