General Russia Invades Ukraine

Is it good though? "this guy" you mention is reposting Rybar propaganda shown to be from Prigoahin's own telegram channels.

YouTube is great, buts it's where I'd go to separate fact from fiction.
What's rybar?
There are loads of other front line map videos , this guys nice and quick though.
And TBF it looks like he's using Google maps?

Rybar is just one out of many Russian telegram channels used to spread disinformation. As mentioned Prigozhin i.e Wagner has been using it lately along with other channels to promote his own "military successes" and to lampoon the Russian military's supposed lack of them. Hard to talk about the accuracy of maps when it's as political as it is.

What if he does lose, Medvedev says the nukes will start flying then? Do you take his threats seriously or is it posturing/bluffing
I hope it is just posturing but remember the yanks have said they want Russia broken up so in their view this is existential so nukes may be on the table. Say what you like about the Russians, and you may be right, but in my view the true fanatics are the American Neo Cons.

Russia probably does have a million troops.
But is lots of borders with different countries and needs troops in lots of other places other than Ukraine.
For instance trust Xi Jin Ping sure can (?),

Not all powerful but definately in the top 3 militaries in the world.....
To undrrestimate ones enemy is a big mistake.
True but a lot of people have been overestimating Russia a bit too. They did almost take Kyiv if it wasn't for Ukraines elite paramilitary retaking the Hostomel airport they may well have succeeded in toppling the Ukrainian government. But a lot of the elite Russian units have also been wiped out conducting offensives in Ukraine. Their 1st mechanized brigade which was their pride and joy at parades was decimated in Bucha/around Kyiv. Apparently when Russia attacked Kyiv they outnumbered the Ukrainians 12 to 1 but Ukrainians were able to hold out because of their artillery.

The smart money seems to be that a WWI trench warfare situation is looming. That is neither side will make significant advances from here on.

That could change if NATO supply a lot more tanks, especially the Merkin Bradleys. However that does not seem to be happening anytime soon, if it happens at all.

That is why the Merkins are giving Putin the hint, negotiate or get done like a dinner.

By that I mean they might accept a smaller Ukraine state, make it a member of NATO, and make another east west border, arm it to the teeth with nukes and heyzeuss help any Russian military that pokes their nose over that line.

That will kick Putin and any right wing nut job right in the goolies. Russia will remain an international pariah. NATO will use seized Russian funds to rebuild the Ukraine.

Locals will return in droves and make the Russians over the border as envious as fark.

So Putin will end up with exactly what he said he didn't want.

NATO on his doorstep, a prosperous Ukraine on his doorstep, a failing local economy and a thoroughly pissed off population.

just saying like.

He was going to take the whole country in three days.
Said by and believed by morons.

12 months later he hasn't much more than when he started, and has his arse kicked out of what he did invade.
Russia holds Ukrainian territory, Ukraine holds zero Russian territory.

His army is heavily reduced, both in equipment and manpower.
NATO are arming the Ukraine far more than a year ago.
And UKR is still losing

His attacks are restricted to rockets into civilian areas, which traditionally does not win wars.
His other attacks are useless. kamikaze charges
And yet UKR follows those attacks everywhere losing at least 3:1 personnel.
He is planning another recruiting drive, that maybe the last straw for the Russian population because at the start he was using minorities, then he used convicts, now he is looking at youngsters from Russia itself.
So the same as UKR
That ladies and jellybeans was when the Merkins started to lose public support in Vietnam.
How is he going to win?
Russia doesn’t need public support and he’ll win by grinding UKR into dust.

Are they sending tanks?
Britain's sending 14 Challengers but that's a drop in the ocean...
Are you talking about the Bradley's?
Yeah they're sending Tanks, Poland also to send 14 Leopards just a question of when, apparently Poland have a group of countries they're likely to send Tanks with, Finland are looking at sending tanks too plus France and Lithuania as well. Morocco just sent 20 t-72ms another Patriot being sent by Germany plus another 2 air defense systems.

Also yes I was referring to the Bradley M2s also known as tank killers because of their anti tank gun. They've already been promised 50 of these plus an additional 59 within last few days and 90 stryker vehicles. NATO is sending shitloads of equipment now. Russia can't stop the shipments as if they were to hit a NATO country they could invoke NATOs article 5 which would likely wipe out Russias conventional army, WW3 and nuclear war could ensue.

Ukrainians are also getting shitloads of training atm from NATO members, thousands have been sent abroad to learn how to use the Leopards, Patriot batteries etc. Things are about to get a lot more difficult for Russia.

The Bradley's AT is a wire guided missile... 1 shot ...(edit , they have 2 of these , so 2 shots)
They are supercharged APCs but not tanks.
I'm not sure Germany will allow the export of the Leopard but we will see....(edit well I was wrong about this apparently they're letting Poland send 14). Why are England and Poland only sending 14 tanks each?!

And they can stop the shipments by destroying logistics like rail roads and powerstations which they already have been. They can also cruise missile warehouses and depots etc.

The UK only has 227 Challenger 2 tanks so they can't afford to send too many to Ukraine, plus there'll be an agreement with other countries to make up a larger quantity overall. 14 from UK, 14 from Poland 14 from Finland, 20 upgraded t-72M from Morocco puts it at 62 already from 4 countries, likely more from other countries like France etc. You grt the picture. Could amount to a couple hundred tanks.

Also these modern tanks will be better at offense than Ukraines current older t-72 models. The C2 UK are sending for example are around 20 tonnes heavier than their T-72 with the C2s being designed with more armour to take a beating at the exchange of speed/maneuverability being able to take out more enemy Armour and positions before they are destroyed.

This website suggests the Russian military a few years ago was 1% of the population or 1.4 million troops. Presumably it’s been more while on a war footing.

How many of those are still alive? How many extra have been bought in to bolster numbers to date?

What is the limits as a percentage of a population, before it affects the running of the economy and the wheels fall off producing military supplies and feeding the general population?

pribably doesn't account for the DPR,LPR and Wagner groups either plus mercenaries?

Training crews for a large variety of tanks will be a big job too. Maintenance , lots of different parts etc.

I don't know anything about the military but tanks seem more an attack force than defensive. So doe this mean Ukraine are planning on going on the attack. Or do they just use tanks as an easily movable defense?
