It's good publicity for these guys to stick the boot into at least one club, it ensures that the fans of said club follow them closely for the season.

Mark Geyer was the first to really go the Warriors, remember when he came out and said they should be booted out of the competition.

That was before social media was a really big thing, but it did get him some spots on NZ sports media at the time . . . suddenly people were interested in giving him air time.

We're a good target too, large fan base, over the ditch, trans Tasman rivalry. And we are so inconsistent historically its well worth a punt.

Like Geyer, Soward may be able to get even more cool points at the end of the season when say the Warriors do really well and he comes out and says "I was wrong" . . . . blah blah . . . lots of forgiveness love and alls forgiven.

Seems to be a very Warrior fan centric need to must have their team rated highly amongst the rugby league landscape.

To be fair we've been awful for several seasons. Somehow I don't think just because we finished eigth last year is going to change others perceptions overnight no matter how obvious the improvement is to us.

100% agree with your voice of reason here. Also not sure why Jamie Soward cops it all the time poor guy. From the shows I've seen him on hes always acquitted himself well.

I thought he had a mixed bag, certainly had a better 2nd half than 1st so finished well. Glad he is doing ok, seems a good bloke.
Anyway I reckon we kept the right fullback even though he costs us a bit more.
