Yeah I have mixed feelings about this.
Sharks pack are big, they will put us under a heap of pressure.

To throw Tohu Harris into the caldron under 100 percent seems risky. I would have started Curran. Save Tohu Harris for the sake of the season.

Class is permanent form is temporary, put Curren in, rest Tohu Harris to recover properly, keep that Dyl/Jazz Bench going, it is effective. Siro to rest Egan for a time. It is a long season, we need to manage the roster.

Are we more worried than we need to be because of how the Dragons folded in the game against the Sharks? They gave up in the 2nd half which I can't see our team doing atm, if we can start better and not give away first try again I think our defense will be up for it.

We're up against it. Our record against the Sharks in recent seasons has been poor. Our record at shark park is poor. They have one of the best players in the game (Hynes). And they are a genuine top 4 team.

That being said, to know how good we are - we have to play better teams than us. You learn more from a loss than a win, and I think if we're 3 wins, 2 losses after 5 rounds - that's still an outstanding result.

Our form guide so far:
Knights - who are average, we beat them, as we should.
A weakened Roosters side - we should have beaten them but didn't.
Cowboys - that's one we should have lost (on paper and on last season's form) but didn't
Bulldogs - another one we should have won, and did.

The Sharks game will give us a good chance to see how we stack up away against a good team. We might well lose, and we'll probably get screwed by the ref, but I think we'll play tough with heart. Tough games now build character for later in the year.

And we might win...

Reactions: diehard
Talakai is their weakness. Everyone is afraid of him for good reason. But that frame of his if you move him around all game he is too big to go there for eighty minutes.

Make him run in defence. Force him to defend the entire game.

Mulitalo is not that great with kicks either, our plan to kick and chase hard should actually take these guys on head on. Fk them, target them. Do the opposite of what is expected. Relish the danger.

Poke the Shark in the eye, kick chase is king in this game and we are good at it this season.

Off topic - but far out Cameron George has really not been in the media much lately, which is a surprise given it start

Yeah, looks like he knows when to step back and let the team do the talking.

He did a great job keeping the Warriors profile alive and connecting the fans with them in exile.,

Some thought he was an attention grabber.

That would be wrong.

Possession is paramount this week.
Keep going at them and keep them on the back foot.
Wingers have to hug the sidelines and trust their insides to cover any breaks.
Would have preferred to have Barnett there for his aggression.
Hopefully Marata can provide that and hope he has recovered fully from the knock he copped last week

I would rate us a good chance had we had our full squad playing.

When I say good, I mean good as firm underdogs.

A lot of fear in this thread this week. And rightly so. You cannot judge anything about our season if we lose because on paper we are playing the strong contenders for the Minor premiership.

Lets allow ourselves the reality that the Sharks did not get to where they are in four rounds.

We did,

Any time we lose one from our spine or an apex forward, it would be unreasonable to not see that we will struggle against a best in comp team.

This week we have one of each out, we have the guy who is SJs foil, the guy who has been buying Shaun Johnson time and space, and we are missing arguably our most effective offensive and defensive forward...certainly our most in form non hooking forward.

The good news is Egan, the pack will be ok and could play over the top or more accurately around their pack if we have a red hot go.

Our line speed and ability to present a straight line has been remarkable, and you can rightly dream off that....you can rightly fantasize that the Blue Green Red White Wall can hold on a good night.

Like john nick said, possession is critical. And this is where Ben Cummings makes this an unlikely/even remote chance of being in the contest, not to mention the appalling bunker.

If you think that is making excuses, go read the LU game day spoilers thread against the Dogs to see all the neutrals across the NRL swear how shit the Warriors get it from the Reffs, many saying they get it shit but no one gets the shit the Warriors get.

The bald brothers, as coined by Motu Tony who is a bald bro now and all-round Warriors legend have been amaze balls.

If we are playing well, and the best of Dylan Walkers Manly form shows up, we could take anyone, on his night he is as good as any player in the NRL. We have not seen it yet at the Warriors. He is trying hard, sometimes too hard to the point of blowing it....but if Walker goes MOM we will score a lot of points for a change and be as much of a threat as anything Cronullar can throw at us.

The best coined term that I've seen for Jazz & Walker was "the angry baubles". Saw it on twitter last week. Thought it was hilarious.
Yep that is a goodie.

When they bump their heads together I swear you could make a scrotum meme out of it.

They are nuts.

Jokes aside they seem to have become instant besties those two, they seem to have a lot of respect for each other. Which is brilliant if you can find it in any team.

Yes and Niko Haynes played well last week

Yes I can just imagine the first twenty minutes

Two mins in .. six again sharks
Three mins in … six again sharks

Sharks score

Seven mins in penalty sharks

Nine mins in six again sharks
Etc etc efc

At twenty mins commentator mentions sharks 70 per cent possession score 12 nil to sharks

Hope I m wrong

Always been a very hard gig to beat the Sharks at home especially Sunday arvo.
Plenty of very good sides have come second there
