Watching Annesley explain it on NRL made me more antsy about it… there was another reverse angle that we never saw, that made it look even MORE like a strip and yet he's saying Pompey was trying to offload and it could have gone either way…

He has been a dick for decades...way back, about 30 year ago, Manly played Newcastle in a Winfield match at Carlaw Park. Newcastle won with a late try from a pass that was about a metre forward. The referee was Annesley.

Bit concerning if that ref is actually dropped. He did disobey the directive of going up No try for warriors is anything looks suss.

So nothing came of the comments Shaun Johnson made after the game where he basically called out the refereeing…

Looks like the NRL didn’t want to open a can of worms where analysis

show themselves up in a bad light!

Open license to do it again Shaun, if the refereeing is as bad as the Roosters or Bulldogs hit jobs. Just make sure you say if exactly the same way and there can be no comeback as the precedent has been set. And say it on Aussie network next time as well

Of course, no need to say anything if the refereeing is even.
