Katoa has gone from a hard runner to a rangy runner

Not sure he has the skill set to be an effective rangy player.

Jury is out on a long term NRL career I would say
Agree, his advantage was his weight and power, which is gone now he’s leaner.

Needs to get back to running the effective lines off the playmakers that he did so effectively when he started. Hopefully that comes as combinations develop.

Also needs to tidy up the concentration (fatigued) errors that have crept into his game.

This is why I dont rate him mostly. Although, I have also thought, much a do about nothing.

If we got Dylan and Niukore coming, that fills the ex centre ball playing back rower rolls.

We had size in Lodge, Addin Fonua-Blake, Ben Murdoch-Masila. I feel Ben Murdoch-Masila whilst injuries do not help, has also been a bit much a do and Lodge the same plus hes leaving.

So where is the size coming from next year, especially with Katoa lean?

Id still rather we spent money on the spine and trying to nab Arthars and a genuinely fast winger from Union or Super League (if none are possible from NRL). But that would mean upskilling some of our local big boppas. I guess I just dont want to see money thrown at half baked forwards when what we need is to remain focussed on the spine and some of the outside backs that are genuine x factor fast. Its a fine balance.

.that place has some bad karma.
our cheap and nasty purchases in preference over high quality and winning CeO. :).

If throwing SK under the bus was to save ones own job given really, it was more his fault than SK's, how long does that person get given for the club to perform? (given new owners stated all staff are retained based on performance , or words to that effect) Or is he suddenly only seen as a Business CEO by the owners?

I’d put him outside Shaun, simplify his game running hard lines off Johnson. He’s got Huge potential need to persist with him play him back to his best. At Full strength Pack Curran back to lock, Harris in the prop rotation.

The info I have that was a Mohawk decision. CG was no on board and did as he was told.

I gave them the team an A

Last weeks performance was abysmal.

One of the worst games I have seen from the team in a long time. It was frustrating to watch. Even with the win.

If you gave me a 20-6 victory before the game, I would have shouted for joyed and given them an A no questions asked.

Last night I saw improvements in

1. Defense
2. Attack
3. Attitude
4. Scoreline

I think the positional changes had a big impact.

Kosi on the wing, Pompey in the centers (who knew?) and most importantly Shaun Johnson back in the halves.

Theres still much to improve, and thats a good thing.

We have a long season ahead, so if they can push on from here and make it 3-0 against the Cows, then who knows...
I gave the game and A + as while it wasn't an A+ by Penrith standards it was an A+ by warriors standards

We were winning 16-6 at half time and closed it out to win 20-6 in the second half.

I have seen us be up once 28-0 in 2018 and the other team came back to win 32-28 in the second half.

Learning to sit on and protect a lead at half time is an awesome skill. They never really had a sniff at our try line in the second half. Or at least no periods of sustained pressure because of how well we protected our lead and shut them down.
Addin Fonua-Blake was stoked with Johnson's 6th tackle kicks to right into the corner every time so that the Broncos had to go 90 metres each set if they wanted to score which they never could.
It was a very professional performance as far as the warriors go.

I don't get the hate for Kodi. Sure he showed some lack of effort last season, at times, but he had off field issues not of his making. The kid is ok and having Shaun Johnson back will help.

Bruce I respect you but I respect myself as well. I’ve been sticking up for Kodi way to long here, the kid is a flop. Has all the natural ability in the world but walks off the field every game like he’s allergic to laundry detergent. Never a fucking scratch on him, never in the war, never gets his hands dirty or puts his body on the line, he’ll he doesn’t even look interested!

He’s one of our highest paid and plays 10 mins here and there every week?? How can you defend this guy?

I know he’s played out of position but he’s been horrible at both half and hooker.

I think he's developing well into a water boy.

What does the word horrible mean to you?
To me it means dropped pill, knock on's, missed defensive assignments, stupid penalties, forward passes. bombed tries, getting sent off for 10 minutes
He did none of those things. He has accepted he is a role player this year and is playing his role nicely. Just like in the All Blacks certain players just play a role and let the star players make the plays. It is one of the key differenitiators between a successful team and a losing team.
In a losing team the developing and mediocre players try hero plays that always backfire to win the game by themselves instead of just doing their job and leaving the try scoring to someone else.

I have Covid 19 and have been in isolation for a week first as a close household contact then caught it yesterday. Quite sick. Please forgive my many posts over the past 7 days. That is the reason. Confined to my room.
My wife just asked me and wants to know what the rest of you blokes are doing with your time to be on this site responding to each other all the time. She doesn't like how long I am online either. LOL.

Tell her we have nothing better to do with our empty meaningless lives than encourage each other's delusions about the Warriors on here. All the best with the rona mate, take it easy and don't over-exert yourself, pretend you're Konnie Hurrell at training.

I didn't think the Flegler penalties were warranted, the game has gone soft. I would be spewing if we got those against us and got someone binned. I think we would have won even if he didn't get binned but its kinda like Jazz and Lodge, refs look for reasons to penalise them.
I think that was one of the fairest reffing displays we’ve had for a while, he made mistakes on both sides and you always knew the square up was coming late in the first half. He was the ref we had in the off-season the other year, wonder if he gained a bit of respect for the team that other refs don’t have in that time with us.

Flegler needs to change. He is a marked man just like Lodge and Jazz and Radley are.
Lodge in particular is playing with less flamboyance this year and has reined himself in. He isn't quite the dynamic game breaker he once was as a result but he churned out 170m yesterday and looked elite.
Flegler says he wants to play on the edge.
Well how did last night work out for you buddy.
If he wants to survive he will have to dial it back a bit even if that means making less bone crunching tackles each game and being less of an enforcer. Lodge has made a palpable change this year and Thomas needs to as well
He got sin binned because of who he is. And in a weird sort of way that is fair because it happens consistently across the league to about 7 or 8 guys who choose to play like that.
E.g Radley is on the spot light as well. Probably JWH as well
