That was such a good match for long suffering warriors fans. A few quick takeaways: IMO that was Johnson’s most complete and best performance in a Warriors jersey for so long well at least since his return; Egan is our most important player; our forwards are better than I thought; our backs are not as bad as I thought; our interchange especially Walker and Jazz is one of the most dynamic in the competition; our defending is fantastic; and most importantly there is a fantastic team environment led by the coach. This is an extremely tough competition but our prospects are looking better every week.

The more I watch highlights etc I believe this has to be our best win in the last 4 or 5 years.

Everything was against us - injuries from the week before, several injuries during the game, the heat, the travel, not having won in Oz in 11 months. The adversity our boys fought through and to only give up 2 tries through quite opportunistic tries, I think that's pretty amazing actually.

We've started to build a really solid base, hopefully were able to capitalize and put the Doggies away this week, or it essentially wipes out the amazing effort of this week

Soak it up everyone! This is OUR YEAR! Proud to be a WARRIOR

For the record I'm proud every year!

Just some years more difficult to defend them down at the local is all haha.

Gotta say though the most pleasing this is we went at them! We chased points, tackles, maintained our shape, and didn't look like imploding.

Which I guess usually occurred after we'd make mistakes, and compound them by doubling down on them with basic errors like kicking out on the full.

Johnson I hope you're reading this way to straighten up! Keep going forward first before shifting sideways. If I may make one more suggestion have a run son! We seen your touch highlights. We know you can get across the line untouched.

Keep it up boys!

Kind of odd, two judges picking different halves for the 3 points with neither of them picking the other for any points at all? It's almost like a conspiracy to spread the Wars points as evently as possible among the team to keep them off the ladder!

Understandable tbh- it was a team effort- any number of players could've got points and I wouldn't have complained.

That Tom Chester would do well in the Storm system! But even the Storm are looking like poos atm!

Yeah it's interesting seeing everyone and one judge rate Shaun Johnson - I didn't initially rate Te Maire Martin watching live but when you look at the stats he was the only half that had any linebreaks, LB assists or try assists, all with half the touches of Shaun Johnson. Ran for the same amount of meteres in half the runs, while making more tackles at 95% efficiency. Just interesting to see two professional judges vary so widely on the 3 & 2 points while only getting the same player on one point, no other game after 3 rounds on the new system has had 2 players top the list at 3 points.

I agree. The game reminded me of that one against the Rabbitohs in Perth in 2018 where there was zero expectation of us winning, it was an arm wrestle at the beginning and we then overwhelmed them in all facets.

Other than that game the ones that come to mind that we played really well in the last 5 years were the 2018 win over the Roosters, the round 1 2019 thumping of the Bulldogs and the win over the Knights in Tamworth in 2020, but last weekend's game probably trumps all of those. It shows how average 2021 and 2022 were. The two homecoming games against the Tigers and Bulldogs were great in atmosphere, but pretty average in quality.

Just a side note i feel we might need walker or Jazz to spell Egan during games. Egan is the most important player for the Wahs this season and the fresher he is will make the difference at the back end of games. Same for lussick this week.
Yeah this is sound Egan is a work horse but a lot of his work is physical as opposed to a Cam smooth where this work was with the ball.

Wouldn't hurt our chances although perhaps Lussick is even better?! Just biding his time.
