I watched Stacey's press conference, I was surprised by his comments. I didn't see anyone not putting in, in fact I thought they kept trying to the end,. What I saw was a team without cohesiveness, who chop and change positions each week but were giving it their best despite everything

Waipiro

Sounds harsh but our captain's Melbourne Storm nickname was 'Zombie'. You know when you're talking about the 'undead' it's a whole other level of passivity.
don't think there would be much call for talk from him in that storm team as a 25 year old......leaders all over the park. Brandon would have probably been the guy to give him the nickname......think they were at the club together such a short time.

The referee allowed the Cowboys far far too long in the tackle. Too long grappling us. Second attempts. Borderline flops who then slowed it right down. Worst I have seen against us this year. Throw the Walsh errors on the back of that and we were screwed. Their best was always going to be better than our best without any referee assistance.
Kasey Badger is so random in the Bunker as if she is drunk. She has interpretations so out of whack.

Yeah i also felt he had 2 speeds for them and us in clearing the ruck, also thought he was letting the cowgirls leave way early getting off their line and catching us pretty much the same time our runners we're getting the ball.

Dont think we do ourselves any favours in that regard tho, there was lots of comments in the match thread of how come we always struggle against a fast moving D. Well....

1. Stop running 1 out!.....take support runners to take the focus off just the ball carrier
2. Related to above.......spread the ball!.......the D then cant gang tackle the ball carrier.
3. 1st receiver stand wide off the ruck!.......get wider of the A and B defenders moving the defence then ususally 1 extra pass is where the yards are made.
4. Run from dummyhalf more! Change it up, keep them guessing, constantly we we're giving just 1 off the ruck lining up like a crash test dummy and getting belted

Frustrating seeing none of this happen to counter what the opposition is doing.......our coaches seem so hell bent in whatever their game plan is dosent appear to be any change up at all.

That’s where Tohu Harris should have a quiet word in the refs ear
Forget it.
It takes an arsehole like Steve Price or Cameron Smith.
They know just what to say and when to say it. It is an art.
The All Black Sean Fitzpatrick was the master. The connection?
They are all pricks and bully the ref with psychology.
I heard the top rugby ref Paddy O'Brien talk about Fitzpatrick once...it was very enlightening.
The best bit was when O'Brien was so flummoxed by Fitzpatrick he awarded him a try. The arrogant prick winked at him and told him he got it wrong.
When Fitzpatrick retired he was honoured with a dinner over there. The top ref gave him a present with a card that said shut up and go back your 10. They hated the prick.
Gotta love this game.
