I agree, we should have taken the other guy...who was the other guy Bruce?...a guy called Clayton ;)
The absence of alternatives seemed to me to be the inevitable outcome of a series of bad decisions. I won’t blame the bloke putting the money in just yet, but the CEO is the sort who’s there for all the wrong reasons. If we ever won I could see him lining up for his medal with his replica shirt on.

That was our forwards letting us down big time. No go forward, no communication in defence, no line speed and no urgency. Addin Fonua-Blake and Harris were a couple of the worst ones. Nothing the backs could have done there to change the match. Mixed in with errors and penalties.. This game showed us how off balance our roster is, with no props and too many locks. No go forward has been killing us since Lodge fucked off.

Stacey needs to calm down with his funky team selections. No one knew who was doing what, due to completely changing the side.

Play Volkman at 6, Egan at 9. Play Curran in the second row, Harris at lock. Aitken has been going good all year at second row, leave him there. Trust a young player or 2 as bench props and give them more than 15 minutes.

Also would like to add the Bunnies were bloody hot, everything came off even the wild off loads. Had the refs whistle also which add salt into it.

I know Tohu Harris was poor, by his own very high standards, but I'll go into bat for him.
His minutes have been poorly managed. 29 minutes in first game back from an ACL & 67-80 minutes ever since. Not many other clubs would be stupid enough to do that considering he's still got 2 years to run on his contract & our season was toast over a month ago

He is not a prop.

Playing players out of position is akin to moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

Wayne Bennett is really down on it. Ok he has more talent but it still comes back to recruitment.

The worst example I can think of is signing Roger Tuivasa-Sheck when we had Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad. The money would have been better sent on the pack.

When you are trying to make a salad, you don't buy spare ribs...do you?

I'm in agreeance with you on the most part here Bruce but we came to terms with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 6 months before we signed Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad from the Storm's U21's.
One glorious day we'll get all the right peices together at the same time

That could of been a lot uglier.

When you let teams score whenever they get into your 20 you are in trouble. Especially so early in the game.

I think early on we had 2 from 2 completion rate and they already had 6-8 sets.

Even if our season hadn't imploded we would of struggled against a decent side. Now we seem pretty clueless. A real worry seeing how promising the season was looking with all of the recruitment. We were making decent move plugging in holes in the squad. Size in the middle, more speed or agility out wide. This season has really fallen apart.

I read on another thread about some of the comments coming from the club. Montoya I think it was quoted as saying they are looking forward to next year.

That is a real worry and tough to hear. They have been away from home for 3 seasons and we are finally getting games in Auckland. That should of picked them up a bit. Even if they perform better back in Auckland the poor performance in Australia are going to make people sceptical about turning up.

With the exception of 2018 we have been poor since 2012. At least 2013 - 2017 we had years where we could have a thread speculating if we could make the finals. Some of the losing streaks at the end of some seasons could be put down to Johnson being injured and the key player being out.

The last few years we have gotten worse even though we have been making moves to turn things around.

don't forget guys that Webster is now calling the shots including results.

At this point in time, he's not concerned about big losses. It's about trialing people in positions so he can hit the ground running for pre season

Just had a quick run through the ladder predictor for the final rounds and I can see it be a 4 way tie on 12pts at the final round. I can also see it going down to the final game against the Titans over the wooden spoon, and although they’ve been shithouse I could see us imploading at home if it does come down to that.

Our for and against is horrific. The team don’t want to be out there any more than we want to sit through another listless performance.

A sad sad state of affairs. I still have hope for next year, I always will as a day one Warriors fan is always forever hopeful, but I get very little enjoyment at the moment supporting this rabble.
Enjoyment is the pause and rewind/fast forward on sky

That completion rate went to 4/6 us, to 12/14 in the 1st half Souths.
Egan as a half was wrong.
I want to write a long spiel but that wasn't 1st grade from any player.

The thing that gets me is that it's hard to understand why all of our remaining comp games weren't scheduled back here in NZ. Considering the put in by the club over the last 2 years.

Being away so long has to take an effect on the players.
