In the early Saturday game, Warriors players have been punished badly for reacting to Sharks pest Will Chambers, who was his usual chirpy self.

Kane Evans is facing a one-to-two week ban for throwing two punches at Chambers, and Evans is also facing a $1550-1800 fine for dangerous contact on Chambers later in the game.

Fellow prop Matt Lodge is facing a two-game ban for a careless high tackle on Chambers, while Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is facing a one-game ban for contrary conduct on Chambers.

Evans has also been charged and fined for dangerous contact on Ronaldo Mulitalo.

I know they had a one man advantage at the time but surely the Sharks are kicking themselves for not taking a penalty shot to tie it up at 18 all
That was a differential penalty- that’s why they got it from where the ball landed.
U can’t kick for goal on a differential.

That sucks yet other teams get away with so much more especially when that stupid state of origin game comes around!

So I guess the lesson here - may as well just punch him

And people think that if we start more fights in games, we will win more games during the season lol

Chambers clearly won even though his team lost.

Hope the team tries to use their brains rather than be so fragile mentally in the next few games. Lots to learn.

Two games for Lodge!!! Hope we fight that. That's bull shit. Radley only got 4 games for his misdemeanours earlier this year. Two games!!! The only possibly reason I can see for that is if Lodge has a long rap sheet, which he probably does.
Who are our four props next game

1) Addin Fonua-Blake
2) Jamayne Tounua-Brown
3) Afoa

Who else?? Or do we go with three and ask all to play monster minutes.
Better bring Frei in for a debut. How bad can he be?

We will absolutely Addin Fonua-Blake to go iron man and play all 80 minutes in the next two games.
Payne Haas plays 80. Addin Fonua-Blake is going to need to.

Oh well.

The majority of our suspensions are all incidents on one opposition player besides one of Evans follow up incidents.

After the Tigers game looking at our next few games Cronulla were not at full strength due to injuries but were the harder proposition. Now because 3 guys let Chambers get under their skin we are going to have a weaker side when we finally get to play the two bottom sides.

Our 2021 results mean we are more likely to be in a dogfight with those two sides instead of being confident we will go in and wipe them off the part.

I mean Lodge get two games for a "careless tackle"
And Kane Evans gets one game for Deliberately striking with a close fist

Where on earth is the logic here?

Read how the base/similar/non similar loadings and discounts/pleas work.

If lodge had taken a guilty plea and had a clean record for past 2 years he would not have missed a match.

Evans did some good things...
Forced Rudolph to knock on
Good tackles here and there
Made metres in his limited runs

The Lodge tackle was pretty innocuous. No swinging arm, whiplash motion or anything that you would expect a reportable offence to carry. It is worth contesting as you see that type of tackle all weekend. Someone should be putting together a highlights reel of them to take to the judiciary.

The irony is that the most dangerous contact in the game from Talakai and Hamlin-Uele - the traditional shoulder charge which was outlawed years ago - didn't get penalised even during the game. Its all very confusing and frustrating.

I have been saying for years the Warriors should collate all these Refereeing anomalies and have someone like a retired QC to prepare a case to take to the NRL (Annesley and V'Landys)

Re the aggression we‘re witnessing from our middle forwards at the moment for me we can probably pinpoint that to the introduction of Lodge. His talk is noticeable, there’s no doubt he’s lighting the fuse and challenging the guys around him. Evans who isn‘t a leader and is a known hothead from as far back as his early days at the Roosters is probably trying too hard to prove he can run with the big dogs. The forced offloads, the brain fades etc isn‘t what he was showing at the Eels before POS secured him.

It was a good point made about Jazz earlier, he can maintain the aggression but not to the detriment of the team and since he was stood down by Brownie he’s been playing like a pro. Evans will have to take a leaf here, he’s very lucky that dumb shit didn’t cost us the win, the silver lining and what’s probably gone a little unnoticed is that we would’ve lost that game faced with so much adversity mere weeks ago, but, we managed to navigate our way through it without imploding further. That’s not only hearty but shows we no longer appear stuck in the belly of the learning the curve and another positive step forward from a week earlier where we we‘re equally hearty but made things tough on ourselves through a number of brain fades by a number of players.

We‘re building… slowly.

Many may disagree.

I go with the principle give me a wild horse I have to rein in than a dead one I have to kick into life.

Ok he is not the sharpest tool in the kit but he has ticker and attitude.

Remember we only got Lodge because he was a wild bastard once.

Just saying like
100%, give me a player with aggression and mongrel any day. Just gotta teach him when to apply it in games and to get a better level of control over himself.
