I think Stace is trying to protect Volkman from what happened to Walsh - he's barely even played any reserve grade games, so he's trying to ease him into things without piling on too much pressure.
could be but i wouldve thought this was the ideal situation- theres really nothing on the line for us- if we were in the running for the 8 there would be pressure.

Mr Brownstone

hmm thats not the reason i heard he got it.... the version i heard was a bit more x-rated...
Yeah actually I’ve found a story that might explain it - some similarities to a certain Broncos incident a few years ago

so im not sure how many points the storm need to get back into the top 4.
the real question is aside from the 2 points the warriors are about to gift them, how much of a points differential do they need and should we give them all of it?

Not playing Volkman really makes no sense, the kid is the future of the club and you'd think it would be in everyone's best interests to get him as much first grade experience as possible moving into next season. In the two games he did play he showed promising signs and definitely looked like he belonged. The Chanel Harris-Tavita selection makes no sense considering he's off at the end of the season but I guess these kind of decisions are what we've become used to as Warriors fans. Asi was really promising last week in the first half particularly and would've thought with Arthars out this would've been the time to give him a go in the centres. Ideally would've preferred the backline to look like this for the Storm game:

1. Walsh
2. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
3. Vailea
4. Asi
5. Montoya
6. Volkman
7. Johnson

Anyone know if nofoaluma is playing for the storm this weekend? such a farce they can bring a player of his quality in at this stage of the season imo.
Surely not - normally can only add players to your extended team list if you've had bulk injuries or similar, not just because you've acquired a better player. Of course this is the NRL and the Storm so I expect to see him at Mt Smart.

The right temperament is also required I think. Tohu Harris is still the best candidate for me because of his temperament and I think his follow me approach is also a benefit because his form is often so consistent.
I agree to the extent that i love those sort of players too but unfortunately as we saw with Simon (who u couldnt get a better lead by example type of someone who consistently left himself out on that park every week)......still didnt resonate by and large with the rest of his team.

I actually think its more off field leadership this club lacks, from the top down.

I would be happy to see Walsh move on now so that things can settle down a bit. He's a liability on defense and a mixed bag on attack so we wouldn't lose much. Chanel is the best fullback we have and he should play there.
Montoya to centre is madness. We have Aitken there and too many second rowers. And Kosi playing is too scary to think about.
If Volkman isn't playing I hope that they have a plan for him and that missing a couple of games is part of that. I'd like to see either him or Asi (or both) in the halves. Johnson must have photos of Robinson or Stacey misbehaving so I guess he'll be there until they call his Bluff and sack him again
I'd like to see Lussick get more game time. Egan is playing well but imagine if he could play a couple of spells of full on dummy half rather than being exhausted and trying to give 100%
Other than that probably no huge surprises. We're playing the Storm so even if we had our best 17 out there we would be hard to put money on. We're not the team that used to compete and beat them anymore

Regarding the Warriors players 'arguing' on the field - are they meaning throwing shade at each other? I'm pretty sure every team does that when players stuff up - especially the aussie players. In fact I only started noticing it more at the Warriors when players like Sean O'Sullivan and Reece Walsh came along. Walshy loves to get shitty.

Is the team just being a bit soft by saying they need to be nice to each other all the time and forgive that they're being useless?

Unless the bickering is getting next level inappropriate in their comments, I'm not sure I see the issue?

Just screams of a lack of leadership both on and off field if that’s what they are resorting to.
If they don’t already have one, they need to get in a mental skills coach (or get a better one!) to help manage shit that doesn’t go to plan. And find a strong on field leader!!

I’d get pissed off if Walsh was having a go at me then kicking off out on the full the next play…..prob a pot calling the kettle black scenario. He has been terrible for team harmony

Nice gesture but no thanks. Would be even more embarrassing if/when we miss the finals.

Plus, I don't think it benefits us to have an unfair head start when what this group needs is to find ways to scratch and claw their way to a good result, not have it artificially handed to them.
