You would think that ship has sailed as he already signed his contract with the Broncos and there was nothing mentioned. Not very Warriors like to not push what we got in return as their media team love to exaggerate any positive news especially when the club is going through a tough period.

Te Maire Martin could still be on the radar of the Warriors. He was being courted by the club prior to the Walsh release/Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad signing. Understanding is Te Maire Martin is trying to get back on the field/over his injury before proceeding further with his options for next year.

Surely Te Maire Martin/Niu would be surplus to requirements at the Broncos next year. Not sure I'm sold on Arthars yet. He is rather average. Sure he looks good in the Warriors colours but that's more to do with the lack of other options in that area.
I'm not sold on Arthars either, there are things we need out of him that just aren't part of his game, things I would assume Webster would be looking for from him coming from the Panthers.

As you say If there was news around a swap deal etc the club would be spruiking it for sure.

I like that he’s so passionate about the club with loving them growing up but Farnworth would be the centre you’d want out of the two but he wants to play fullback. No good for a trade as he’s out for the rest of the season but at 22 would be a great addition to the club from next season onwards.

Is there still a cool-off period with these mid season trades? Maybe they can't announce the Munster signing until that expires or something, there's still a chance.

The Walsh rumour was discussed on NRL360 this evening. Said the Warriors refused to release him.

Last night the discussion was how the Storm in the past could work through big injuries as they had players ready to step up. Cronk last night mentioned due to covid those players are probably not ready so unlike previous years they may not have a new superstar ready to go.

I don't mind the mid season transfers when it's early in the season as clubs find they have a lack of depth in certain areas or are hit by injuries. Later in the season can be exploited with clubs heading to the finals. I know this one has a major injury but at some point you need to work through the set backs. The trading cut off has been extended but its a bit close to finals for my liking.

He's still useful for us to have in the squad. We still need to pick up a few wins to avoid the spoon.

Imagine if we did release him and our next home game he's playing for the opposition. He already missed the home coming game and then the following week got a release and signed with the Broncos for 2023.
I have a hunch the negotiations with the storm for Reece went like this knowing the storms modus operandi

***craig Hodges is at the office as he always does and today his phone is running hot with a number of tentative proposals coming in about various options.
Ring ring ring ring
“Hello Craig speaking”
“Hello Craig it is Craig Bellamy here. We have a great opportunity to present to you.
We want Reece Walsh to come to Melbourne to replace Papps for the rest of the season! It is a great opportunity for him to play playoff football and learn from a strong leadership group”
“Sounds good Craig. What player are you offering the warriors as compensation”
“There must be a misunderstanding. This is a chance of a lifetime for Reece why would you stand in his way?”
“Goodbye Craig and no is the answer”

In this parallel world scenario I’d take Jahrome instead, more chance of him sticking around.

No but you could play Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad in the centers in order to play Farnworth at fullback, but again an unlikely parallel world scenario.

Fair to say your scenario is more likely than his.
Would love Farnworth but surely he’s redcliff bound?
Possibly, I could actually see him staying on and seeing out his contract with the Broncos next season tbh. He’s close with the club and a lot of those boys came up through the grades together.

Yeah Stacey, finally someone doing something proactive.

Would prefer Volkman in the halves and Curran at 13 but I salute Stace for at least dropping Walsh to the bench and mixing things up.
I would like Stacey to drop Shaun Johnson not cause we dont need him, but give him time away from the game. Volkman and Asi carved up last week.

Yeah I think Curran should be 13 but I think hes playing old school and wants hole hitters on the edges. And have a Campion like 13 who tackles and runs.

Given the season is gone I guess he has free licence to try things each week.

Aren’t they doing a deal with the broncos for Temari Martin ?

Te Maire Martin is out with a rib injury till like 2 weeks before the season's end, and he's a free agent afterwards, so we could just sign him independently, should try to get Niu or other contracted young player of theirs.

Yeah this makes sense. He signed though or we working out details? This drags out we lose Walsh and gain nothing.

Niu good option. A solid centre if we want. Just that old deal breaker of being based in Auckland.
