Team Lists

It is my new pet theory that the battle of the forwards is the middle of the game rather than the first 20 or last 20 minutes.
I remember Brown saying you want your best props closing out the match, when the game is often up for grabs. But… it was only Brown…

Another thought is starting props get 50 minutes rest and recovery whereas middle props only get a 10 minute break, so can they maintain as high a level as long?

Personally I don’t think there is much difference. You just want your best forwards on as long as possible.

Are the Warriors travelling to Sydney from Redcliffe or Auckland.
I m 99 per cent sure its Redcliffe.

It always used to be a bloodbath flying into games at 10 pm Nz time with those 755 pm Aus time games.

Here is another angle on it
Our bench has always been weak as piss water this year. Put an Addin Fonua-Blake or a lodge on it and we can be more solid from a 1 through 17 perspective

Some analysts go further and say if you win the bench you will go long way to winning the game

Put Pene out there to go frantic with 16 minutes of madness and then off for the rest of the match just like last Match
Fonus Blake has a big motor and could easily go 55 minutes same with Harris

Anyway this if the Tuesday line up
Plenty of tinkering could happen yet

But I am right into my theory and I hope you might come around to it wizards one day

I’m on the Kosi train. Strung a few good games together before the Storm horror showing. He’s done his time in reserves to mentally refresh and deserves another shot.

I felt a few more senior players were just as terrible against the Storm, but the Wingers are just more exposed.

FWIW: during the Storm game I said the Storm shouldn’t have been so overconfident and cocky and rein it in a bit. NAS kicking a bomb for a try was ridiculous. Another poster said the Storm should keep going and slaughter us. I think time has shown they should have stuck to the fundamentals of league and played with structure and they would have got more out of the game themselves. The Storm have been far from their best winning only 3 and losing 4 after a string of easy games where they were glory hunting and racking up 40 point + wins each week. Short term dazzle dazzle… long term lack of progression as a team!

That’s a pretty good looking 13. Very solid all round. Despite Walsh leaving he has to play. He is electric. I like Kosi. Big guy with pace and some guile with a high ceiling.. I think. Like to see Katoa in the 17
Why was brown unable to pick high quality line ups like Stacey with the same players ?
I mean sanity has prevailed and Harris is named at prop instead of midget prop jazz
Brown would have named jazz all season
Why how is this dynamic possible ?

Even better line up would be if Chanel Harris-Tavita and Walsh Switched

I’m not against the idea and it’s probably situational dependant on the player and other bench players, plus the opposition. I definitely wouldn’t judge solely on the Tigers game where our players were pumped up. I do think we had it wrong when we had lodge and Addin Fonua-Blake both starting.

The start also sets the tone and if we have Pene and Jazz up against a strong starting combo we could be blown off the park before Addin Fonua-Blake even comes on 🤣

I hope you buckle up tight.

The kid has a beautiful physic though. Can’t deny him that. But there’s nothing inside that head. I watched him closely last year. Just not a thinker. Clueless on defense. Positioning all wrong. A real lack of game awareness. every time. But like I said, wished I had his frame though 💪

In the few games prior to the Storm I thought his decision making was more sound. But he is another of those covid debutants who seem to have had to learn the game in first grade.

Another game will be a good opportunity to see how he’s developing.

Kosi and his effort against the storm has gone down in forum folklore
His ardent supporters have reminded me that manu had a nightmare early in his career
Every fan on this site be it Kosi fan or Kosi disser uniformly agrees that was a simply horrendous performance that even ken in his early years never served up.
The worst moment was him walking after a line break and had he run he could have recovered the ball.
In my lifetime of union, league, cricket and in North America nhl ice hockey and mlb baseball that is the most diabolical effort I have seen from a paid professional.

2077 vs 773 run meters. The Storm were 3x as good as us despite Lodge, Addin Fonua-Blake, Aitken, Tevaga, Shaun Johnson, Egan, etc all being in the team. Kosi was just the standout in a team that was diabolical.

Where were the senior leaders after the first couple of tries making sure he didn’t drop lip? They were busy dropping their own lips 🤣

Just as bad was when Walsh gave up tackling - 6/12 tackles successful and another few where he didn’t even lay a finger on them. And when one of our centres gave up on defence at the end which I remember was equally as diabolical and a ‘given up’ play.

Yes Kosi gave up. But the whole team was a shambles that allowed the young players to get mentally crushed.

Some of our blokes never stopped tackling such as jazz and lodge. That night everything storm touched turned to gold. A stupid bomb by a prop turned out pinpoint accurate and led to a try that opened the floodgates. Fluke much ?

If 5 or 6 warriors hadn’t kept tackling with all their hearts it would have been 100 points

Question for you
You are Stacey Jones
Round 20 mt smart stadium vs The Storm
Say Dalllin is injured. Would you if head coach run out Kosi to play right wing in that match ?

Situational and depends on Kosi and the leadership group around him. But no…

I'm worried that because the Eels form has been ordinary we maybe in for a slacking hope to be wrong also interested to see how Kosi goes against Sivo similar type of wingers could be a good battle
