No no that wonderkid is still playing reserves for the sharks. Also that wonderkid asi has been here couple months now he must be ready to break out and ofcourse the wonderkid whos debuting this week will lay on 5 tries become the next immortal and move back to sydney before the end of the year. All you do is shit on him brother, doesnt it get old?
I've never heard anyone hail Asi and Metcalf as wonder kids so I don't know what you are talking about.
Chanel Harris-Tavita has been treated like a princess and given multiple opportunities over the last 4 years with nothing to show for, and now he announces that he wants to take a break, so why should we keep picking him with him not being at the club next year ?

It’s that confidence aspect that concerns me around Volkman debuting against the Premiers, can only hope his development through his time at the Roosters has shown Stacey he‘s capable of handling himself in this situation.

If this is the Warriors long term future halfback you want to see him ready and prepared, not just thrown in there because the teams in a massive form slump and the other halves aren’t performing.

Great for the fans of course, no one’s complaining because we all get to see the next shiny new thing. But yeah, the Penrith Panthers, could lose more than you gain there.
To be fair, Walsh debuted against the Storm last year and that did not result in a complete disaster.

Though I guess debuting at halfback against the Panthers with Johnson alongside you is a couple notches more rough than debuting at fullback against the Storm with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck along side you..

Hoping for the best, but expecting very little

To be fair when I was playing school badminton competition I learnt more getting thrashed by their No.1 than I do beating the No.3 (my usual position back then)

Young dude gets to learn a master class right away, will be hard but great for growth

Meh, not anti Stacey, I love the legend but....

Wtf is this throw Volkman into Custers last stand for a kids debut?

Farq me that's dumb.

Hope Volkman can cope with a 50 point hiding on debut...a lot of noobs would self blame for that shit.

If you're gonna do it, you leave Shaun Johnson out and put Asi in so both boys know they've been given a development pass to go learn and don't worry bout the result.

Leaving dinner Jacket Shaun Johnson in puts tremendous supporting pressure on Volkman.

Shaun Johnson is on every tip sheet for no interest in taking on the line.

Warriors should have paid Shaun Johnson double, it is clear on budget wages Shaun Johnson is refusing to put himself out there...he was way better for the Sharks, and it ain't age....he is paying the club back for low balling him.

Pretty excited to see the volkster debut.
He’s had big wraps on him for quite a while- still shocked we signed him tbh.
Must be pretty exciting for him to be playing against the NSW halves.
Hopefully the rest of our mugs can show a bit of fight and give him half a chance to show his wares.

Surely they’ve said to Volkman no matter what happens re: results you’re our man next year, go out have a crack and learn because you’re safe.
As a fan I’m happy to wear the rest of the year if that means next year he’s had some good game time under his belt and learnt.
The alternative is stick with Shaun Johnson and Chanel Harris-Tavita and hit next year with a green Volkman and Metcalfe or even worse Shaun Johnson as halves.

I want the Warriors to win this weekend. There's a part of me that just hopes it doesn't get ugly.

There's no pressure on Stacey or the team to win this weekend. Most have picked us to loose by 13+. And yes, not ideal for Volkmann. But there's pressure on everyone to beat the Tigers in our homecoming game. So assuming the young fulla keeps his spot he'll be a lot better for the run. And if he plays ok against the Tigers it'll have been the right decision.

I don't understand why they nrl would put the Warriors on at the same time as the Super Rugby final. Fuckn stupid if you ask me. I get the we've been shit this year. But regardless that's bad business. The Warriors are the only nz team in the comp, surely viewership from NZ is important, and whether we are playing bad or not, the Warriors must be primetime viewership???. I dont know seems dumb.

If Addin Fonua-Blake plays this week it will be close to full strength for us, outside of Aitken and Lodge, this is the team that we thought would take us to the 8 this year.
Add on top Shaun Johnson has his wish that Brown is gone, so should be able to play a bit better, given the bye and NZ trip in the next few weeks.

I know we’ll have 20 minutes or so during the match where we play really well, if we can bump that up to 40 minutes and have 40 minutes of playing average (as opposed to playing absolute shit, which is what we have been serving up) we’ll go okay. I just wanna see effort!

It's pretty clear NZ is an absolute after thought for the NRL and they are pretty happy for us to get fucked tbh.

The NRL believe they can be and will be bigger than rugby in NZ and gain alot bigger popularity than the all blacks. going head to head with a rugby final would be seen as taking away viewers from rugby. bare in mind this is also the same people that think they can get rugby league much bigger than AFL in melbourne.

I'll start with the on-topic rant so this doesn't get deleted/banned :):

Volkman will be fine. Solid. Dependable. I don't think the Panthers will put a 50 point hiding on us but if they do, outside of any bad tackling/reads that he should and would truly own, I don't think Robert will be too despondant about that result.

So, same as every other player, frankly. Jazz, as an example, can f-word in every post-match chat as much as he likes, but I don't think he owns every defeat. And he shouldn't.

As to your comments about the Warriors should have paid Shaun double:

REALLY?!?

For me it's clear that no matter what the Warriors paid him Shaun Johnson isn't putting himself out there. He isn't "paying the club back for low balling him", he's "doing what you hoped I wouldn't do again, but, yep, you Warriors management boys are stupid, so OOPS! I DID IT AGAIN! (Cue Princess Dance and Britney Lip Sync)"

If you're right and the Warriors lowballed him, why did he take it? It's not like he needs a job, any job. Any ESL team would have grabbed him. And you know how much they pay any player from The Greatest Rugby League Competition whatever they actually achieved in TGRLC...

The points about Shaun Johnson for me have always been:
We made the Finals in his first season and his last. 2011 and 2018.
Between those two seasons, we didn't make the Top 8. So no Finals.

That's not 100% on Shaun Johnson, but given the hype, the attention, the media love, the fan love and the position he played in the team he owns more than 50% of the blame...

Shaun has fucking always refused to put himself out there. He didn't make the Sharks look good. The Sharks made Shaun look good.

See my previous post on this.

In a sentence: Burger King have no reason to be nice to/Plan their year based on what McDonalds do, why should the NRL base their plans on Super Rugby?
