We are a mess Sean has underperformed better to fall on his sword and we blood younger players, this year is shot.

I like the changes. Pity the NRL put it on the same time as the super rugby final, obviously not concerned about attracting the fringe NZ wsrriors fans. Maybe they figure there isn't any left.
Well, firstly, how were the NRL to know way back in November that 7:30PM NZT Saturday 18 June would be when the Super Rugby Pasifika final would be? Okay, they wouldn't need to be Nostradamus to guess, as the only likely alternative was 9:30PM Saturday NZT, which would mean an Australian team had made A) Made the Final and B) Had home advantage. Based on 2021's evidence, "Not an impossible task, but...Pretty fuckin' close to it!" As the 12th Man would have said.

And, secondly, why should they give a crap anyhow? It's like way back in 2011 when the Warriors had a finals game that just happened to be at the same time as a RWC game. Some idiot Auckland person basically said "How dare the NRL schedule their game at the same time as our wonderful (I think it was a Group Stage game, no biggie) RWC game?!"

I agree, it's less than ideal - I'll watch the Super Rugby final live, watch the Warriors afterwards. But it's not the NRL's problem.

I mean, can you see Burger King announcing they're going to stop selling their Whoppers while McDonalds gets their beef supply issue sorted?!

Back on topic :) : Pleased for Volkman, going up against the Panthers actually might work in his favour. Jones should tell him - as should Johnson - to just go out there and give it your best, don't worry about things outside your role, don't freak out about the scoreboard if it gets bad, as long as you do your job defensively you'll be fine. And TALK LOUDLY AND POINT.

Geez, I think retirement might be a bit premature. We're potentially going to have two rookie halves next year?
We are always going have 2 rookie halfs because Shaun Johnson looks , pretty dont know how to play the game anymore. so that would be the same or worse than a rookie !!!!

Lol as if Chanel Harris-Tavita is some wonder kid we are dying to retain...
No no that wonderkid is still playing reserves for the sharks. Also that wonderkid asi has been here couple months now he must be ready to break out and ofcourse the wonderkid whos debuting this week will lay on 5 tries become the next immortal and move back to sydney before the end of the year. All you do is shit on him brother, doesnt it get old?

He doesn't want to play next year, so what's the point of playing him this year when we potentially have his replacement sitting there. In Volkman or even Asi.

He's had a fair amount of development put into him, and is yet to show us he is more than a role playing supporting 6. At best. Time for the side to move forward and move on. He's a good bench utility.

I'm a little apprehensive of Volkman debuting against the Panthers, but when you think about it, the expectation is zero. There will be no pressure to win us the game, or even to perform. He almost cannot go wrong. If he coops a knock, can't keep up fitness wise, Chanel Harris-Tavita can be subbed.

Interesting to hear Shaun Johnson was to be left out of Brownies side for the Sharks game prior to Brown being sacked by the club.

Bringing in Volkman is the right play here by Jones, I don’t necessarily agree with debuting the kid against the Panthers but Chanel Harris-Tavita is gone burger and Shaun Johnson‘s future seems very much up in the air.

I don’t think Jones had a lot of choice here tbh. Its bizarre to think we started with four halves at the beginning of the season and we could seemingly end up with two, and not two of the original four. You couldn’t write that script for the season.

Named at Five-Eight but keen to see what role Volkman plays here, could be revealing.

Changes needed to happen.

I'm also apprehensive about debuting Volkmann. He's in for a tough time. I'm sure the club has 1 eye on the homecoming game. That's when this games experience will be invaluable to Ron. It also will help Stacey understand what he needs to work on. I truly believe, that Stacey's own experiences are invaluable helping to guide a young half.

I'm a believer in playing players we're going to keep. I know that's tough on some players who will be leaving. But team sport is about combinations and helping each other. And nothing beats game time.

Who do you think plays on the right hand side?

Defo need change! I’m a little nervous as well but the way they are going there are no sure thing games for us to debut him in. Timing is also pretty good - hard ass nothing to lose game, then a week off, then the homecoming against another struggling team. Hopefully the experience pays off and he gets some confidence for the tigers game.

It’s that confidence aspect that concerns me around Volkman debuting against the Premiers, can only hope his development through his time at the Roosters has shown Stacey he‘s capable of handling himself in this situation.

If this is the Warriors long term future halfback you want to see him ready and prepared, not just thrown in there because the teams in a massive form slump and the other halves aren’t performing.

Great for the fans of course, no one’s complaining because we all get to see the next shiny new thing. But yeah, the Penrith Panthers, could lose more than you gain there.
