Wow, that team 😳. Got zero expectation so at least wone be disappointed.
I think we are buggered until we get home and build up the pathways teams, that's going to be 3+ years so don't get your hopes up for anything good in the short to medium term. No point investing in another coach until that's in place either, so brownie will get a few more years I reckon.

Oh shit are we in a another rebuild! If so we should keep brownie as he's good at rebuilds.

with our smaller pack hopefully we use that to our advantage. Knights pack is big but not that mobile. If we run in numbers, players in motion use the ball, offloads etc we’ll win. Chanel Harris-Tavita and Johnson have worked well together so having him back is a big boost. If we run one out and try match there forward pack we’re getting rolled

There are obvious defensive issues in the midfield yet the coaching team are not trying to select different players to rectify this.
That doesn’t seem right to me .

What players are you suggesting?

Very reminiscent of the cowboys with Reuben cotter, has played prop and hooker this year with success for the reason you put which is speed through the middle. They are almost the same size in stature.
Thats the guy. Cotter thanks for that

Chanel Harris-Tavita back will shore up his edge, with Asi being uninterested in defending. There's no fixing Shaun Johnson though hopefully Harris on his side will help with pushing out. Or perhaps the coaches will finally instruct them not to compress so much.

The Addin Fonua-Blake injury really hits harder after losing Lodge. The Lodge one is a pain with him not being injured.

As other posters have mentioned moving the ball instead of one-off hit-ups could work. Ironically we were doing that a lot (potentially too much) with Addin Fonua-Blake and Lodge in the side. Instead of hitting it up the middle we they were pushing passes and often getting in the way when we were in the opposition 20.

Technically there is still hope, but means beating either Sharks or Panthers to have a hope.

Win next 3 which is Newc (if we lose that, omg Brown, embarrassing), Manly without Tommy for rest of the year we should be able to beat. Sharks we just have to Turn UP with the same intensity and starch on defense that they did. Do whatever we can to improve edge D.

That will be 7/7, with 10 rounds to go that means 6/10. That is doable.

But Panthers immediately after Sharks, that will likely be a pounding.

Going through the list I count 4 of the 10 remaining games that should be losses, but who knows, if we some how get a roll on and beat Sharks or Panthers, or both, anythng is possible.

Chitty back thank the RL Lords. But losing both Addin Fonua-Blake and Lodge is the real issue. Ben Murdoch-Masila is there but hes had very little game time. Why do our big guys outside Bunty get injured so often. So Ben Murdoch-Masila, Bunty..... a lot of 80 min forwards is the only plus side.

Part of me wants to sacrafice this season to remove Brown, part of me wants us to make the top 8, but I know if we get close to top 8 we will keep Brown another season which is just beyond stupid. We need a HC and an AC, get rid of these 2 specialists formally but keep Stacy as a trainer and half back coach informally.

Return some normallty, HC: Cameron Ciraldo AC: Slade Griffin. Move Brown to CEO or Coaching Director or some such role (to retain his contacts).

One thing Ive noticed about Lussick, he tries to dummy half run when we close to the line, hes trying very hard, but hes so small its ineffective. If it were me Id have Otukolo finally playing as a 9, its a bit of a knock putting Tevaga ahead of him (even though hes played 9 in youth), and then by share chance of getting Volkman early we have to take Lussick and now he is ahead of Otukolo.

If Otukolo is not our future 9, why waste the 30 man spot. I dont think playing him in other roles for 10 mins does anything for him. Surely vs Newc is the time to give him some game time.

Also, Ratuva, why have we not tested his Giraffe like speed (he looks like hes jogging with his huge strides) on the wing? I guess its too late now. But putting Villiami in when we cannot afford to drop games via defense is not the time to test him out at Centre when Arthers has been better on offense and defense in Centre.

You know what happens when you throw kids who aren’t ready into the deep end.

Haven’t you seen enough ???

Kosi, Berry and Vailea are probably getting counselling…

Yep I know, Villiami !!!!

But if we naming him in the extended squad, hes not playing anywhere else, all that is going to happen is he will regress not get better. That and asking him to play 2nd row or some other position, when our 9 is open, yet we filling it with a guy who we HAD to take.
I hear you, but I dont think we have anything to lose against Newc by putting him on the bench and coming on to share the role with Lussic and possibly put in somewhere else.

Warriors do not have a development infrastructure That is there biggest problem, getting NZ players to Aus level and then to NRL FG level, HUGE step up from NZ RL. Without that, the only way is to coach them in FG (without RG).
