For anyone burnt out following the Warriors, I recommend taking a year off then come back, thats what i did and my expectations of the team arent so high anymore. The reality is, this team is more like the Sharks than Melbourne or Brisbane. Maybe the Warriors could learn from the Sharks who packed their team with aging stars, they built a team that wanted to win and didnt have much time to do it.

I can see potential in the outside backs where the Warriors have been weak in previous years

I agree with Tim burgess , replace the players leaving with prospects and treat this year as what it is now, building toward next year, finish the season charging instead of going out with a whimper. Anyone who isnt trying gets replaced and look to replace them before the start of the next season. They could even make Tevaga captain, no more pats on the back after mistakes.
Agree, play players who are here next year. The backs 1 to 5 or ok. Volkman and Johnson 6 and 7. What is there to lose...I think Asi is squad player only.

The forwards will change next season. But use the rest of the season let Murchie and Pene to have a red hot crack, along with a other junior. There is enough experience with Egan, Harris, Afoa, Lui and Ben Murdoch-Masila to players to give youth ago

Asi would be a good buy if cheap enough to develop with Reserve Grade starting again next year. He clearly has excellent offensive skills but is really bad on offense, to be fair so does Walsh, Im hoping somebody works on him one on one, he had Roger Tuivasa-Sheck for a year but with the whole team not keeping the tries out, I imagine he isnt getting any mentoring. Also that is the 4th time this year he has kicked out on the full. Why dont we just swap the kicker for kick offs.....

Volkman from what I have watched is a classic 7, without giving him too big a rap just yet, he is more like a Stacy or Johns than a running back. Good kick, good passing, is not fast but seems to produce opportunities. Like a classic union half.

We have 7 halves, soon to be 6, Egan fills the 9 and Walsh plays the FB. If we ever needed we could put one of those back in the halves and replace their position, I wonder how Montoya would go at FB.....

If Volkman comes in, Id rather have Shaun Johnson move back to 6 and that might force him to run a bit more and Volkman to 7. He seems to have good game management skills.

Either way our spine seems full, and cheap (not sure if thats good or bad)

Maybe rugby for the blues
Speaking of, this is how Im managing my Warriors burn out, been watching Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and now Im following the Blues, they back to the top. Exciting the last 2 games, won by field goals. The union guys just nail field goals first pop like its a place kick. 40 metres, no probs.

Volkman may have a really good field goal kick too, I have seen him shoot one though.

Pisses me off so much hearing the opposition fans chanting at our "home" ground week after week. So annoying. Who would have thought there were that many Newcastle fans in QLD...
yeah, Gosford I can understand as its just a 90km straight (Aus roads are so straight) drive at 110kph. But Redcliffe is odd. Although I heard a lot of support for our team, I heard individual names quite clearly.

I dont think being actually at home would make much difference to this fractured team right now though.

if we get to our home coming game and we need 9/9, I dont see us making it. Too many top 4 teams left to play in our draw. Last nights win was really a must win.

Hopefully the conspiracy of not knowing the real deal behind lodge and A FB breaking down again, will be put behind us. Size wise we still have big boys, but they more mobile, not quite 127kg weight. Curren should be back next game.

Yeah that's what makes a captain...

Volkman got a big boot on him and will need it with the Warriors

Just been looking at the draw for our last 12 games, really tough, we have the Panthers twice and the Storm once. So that's at least three lock in thrashings.

Next week against Manly is important as if we can win that we might have a half chance against the Sharks the following week. But even if we did do that I can only see us winning 5/12 at best.

Most likely we lose to Manly next week, and then I think we can expect around 2/12 games remaining.

Either way, at least as I see it, we're planning for next season at this stage :(

All too familiar these days.

Taj,

If it’s any consolation, the money I won from the bookies yesterday, I’ve used it to upgrade my account to a “contributor”.

At least something positive came out of the Warriors losing, and the money won has been put to good use.

I challenge other bookie players out there to do the same.

😊

Now I feel bad putting the cash from our losing season toward a spa pool ;)

Nah, I just punt against the Warriors each week. Takes no balls at all, and works out well in terms of cash, but breaks my heart a little each time.
Sorry to say I look forward to the day you lose your bet.
