Wasn't surprised by the result, had thought we'd get flogged so in my strange Warriors rationalisation state, 8 points was a win to us.

Critical mistakes once again crippled us, the kicking being the foremost. Once we lose momentum it seems we have no idea how to get it back.
Thought the forwards went ok but our halves are horrendous and Walsh is not helping much either. Shaun Johnson needs a break I'm thinking and it looked to me like Chanel Harris-Tavita hasn't fully recovered from his injury. I really would like to see Walsh play at least one game in the halves or give Volkman a shot as the season is effectively over for us.
Look how the Broncs are going now with a decent half controlling and directing.

You know the club has sunk to a new low when my daughter comes to watch the game wearing a Panthers jersey

I know we’re a shit team but fark we got the rough end of the pineapple there (again….)
Yeah and then you watch Roosters game and boom they have multiple offsides and a few contact with head that refs dont penalise. It mounts up.

But why do we get all the scrutiny? Doesnt happen with other teams to anywhere near the same extent. Every week it seems NRL issue an apology to us for bad calls.

Things are real bad when you have senior players calling out other senior team members.

Jazz is 100% correct. Fans can see it ourselves. No need for him to call out his team mates….. it’s a bad look…. real bad

Boys need to get their chin up and fight this adversity. Everyone is turning on them and them on each other… getting real toxic in there now

Our spine lost us this game! I’m happy with our forwards and backs performance but our 1, 6,7 were terrible!! Our two hookers were had the best games out of the spine. Freddy has been a big surprise.
Exactly right.
Our forwards surprised outplayed the Knights forwards.
6 and 7 were almost useless and 1 made two bad errors that I saw.
And the two young hookers were good.
Johnson has got to play differently.......coach its on you.
At 6 we have options -Asi and lol the former kiwi six Mr Tohu Harris.

Did not watch the game... my wife is so impressed!... avid since 95

If someone like Jazz is speaking out, well that just certifies where this franchise is and folks, I don't think this will end nicely... IMHO

Probably my favourite 70's songs.... David Bowie sang....

I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim

Though nothing, nothing will keep us together
We can beat them forever and ever
Oh, we can be heroes just for one day

Time to blood some youth??? We now know 100% we arnt making the finals this year, time to start looking forward. Always hard tho - throw too many in at once and they could loose confidence by constantly getting hammered but I see no point in playing Chanel Harris-Tavita or Lui etc for the rest of the year. Asi, Volkman, kepu’s, Ale (when fit) all need to get a good few games in a row.

I picked Newcastle in my 2 tipping / sweepstake comps . I also called an Uber about 50 mins through the game to go out for dinner. I usually watch all games and the entire match … not last night

Just confirms to me the riff in the playing group.

Its pretty telling when your team doesnt have a player in any of the top 5 lists. Even when we werent making the 8 in the past we would have guys in the top 5 of something.

Big game for Pompey, him and Montoya (which i said at the time I thought he was making a lot of carries) making the most metres, in fact Warriors were the top 3. Pompey 167, Tohu Harris 62 and Montoya 154. Same in most runs, although Tohu Harris made 24 runs vs only 18 for the other 2 (a lot of Kick returns vs only hit ups_. So to some extent we had our OBs making our metres again, didnt have much choice.

We had a really good game on Tackles. Nothing of note in Tackles Missed or Ineffective Tackles. Tohu Harris with our most tackles at 41, Aitken at 35. Not quite like Egans last game where both he and Jazz got 55 a piece, but 164m and 41 tackles is a good effort from Tohu Harris. Also Tohu Harris got 47 post contact metres and Aitken got 51. Those 2 definitely lifted as team leaders.

Offensively Pompey at Vailea seemed our best, a try each, a line break each, and 4 tackle breaks each. Walsh also got 4. Pompey and Vailea both got a try, as did D WZ.

Really nice to see Vailea bring it (and not make a mistake that I recall). Coach showed faith in him and I hope next game he shows he has learnt defensively an continues with the tackle busts.

I think MotM for us would be tied between Tohu Harris and Pompey with Vailea a notable mention.

We were not far off again, its not like we missed heaps of tackles, efficiency was really good a 95%, but we missed important ones and the grubber try, not much you can do if Walsh had just made a tackle (will have to watch that sequence again).

We had 55% posession as well. But as usual we had a poor 76% completion rate.

That has gotta get above 85% if we want our X factor guys to keep us scoring. Along with still not having a good grasp of defense. Dont need to miss a bunch of tackles, only takes a few and you lose the game.

Also, whilst we did ok in the ruck, PTBs was 3.65, they were under 2.8secons, WHOAH !

And errors, too high at 10, and unfortunately the halves were the biggest, 4 for Shaun Johnson and 3 for Chanel Harris-Tavita.

Interesting stat, we made 20 dummy passes to their 8.....

Strange game, clearly not close to top 6 level. We now need 9/12. So we now need to definitely beat either the Sharks and or Panthers coming up, hopefully we get it together for Manly. Realistically last night was just confirmation of a failed season, but you never know, we got talent, and we have often played better when there is nothing to lose. I feel like Shaun Johnson looks like he has the weight of the clubs success on his shoulders, which Im sure is how he is feeling, he looks much like Brown did pre match.

With whatever happened off field, we may not have a choice to release Brown, he might have had enough. I hope not, whilst I dont see him as a coach, I can see a lot in him strategically and at a higher level, with a bit of business education, he could make an excellent CEO. Or some position relating to filling the right people in the most important positions etc.

Do you remember that game? It was the first game the kiwis put oz on notice. Kiwis were in front and Kearney took harris off for the last 15 and cronk (harris' storm team mate) went down that side twice & oz scored 2 tries.
Not saying harris is a first pick 6 in anyone's mind but he knows what the job is, he's safe, rarely makes an error, & he can defend. Cronk immediately saw an opportunity & capitalized (he's not dumb). Storm used him there too but guess Bellamy didn't know what he was doing either?
These days, nah.
Wouldnt be anyone's first or even third, but still not the worst option if it came to the crunch

Well Tohu Harris played 7 for us when Chanel Harris-Tavita debuted at 6, hes got all the mad Half Back skills haha.
I dont think one bad game from Chanel Harris-Tavita is enough to drop him. Keep in mind Asi was letting in a lot more tries than he was scoring, one game 5 miss tackles and 6 incomplete tackles.

How old is Volkman now, did he turn 19 this year or is he turning 20?

The fact you’re reading this means you signed up for or found a warriors forum. It’s in your blood. You can’t not think about them each weekend. You want them to succeed. They will. Eventually. 95 - 01 6 years. 01 - 2011 10 years. 2012 - 22 10 years. All those spaces of time people went through disappointment after f disappointment but it passed and we made the GF. It will happen again. Yes it’s hard they are so poor right now but how sweet will it be that you stuck by them and saw them through to another GF

I like Chanel Harris-Tavita, but if he is finishing up at season end, after yesterday performance they need to think ahead for next season and play Volkman.

Not sure about Asi, I think he would be a good squad player only.

When is Curran and Siro fit. I'd bring them both back immediately for Aitken.
For anyone burnt out following the Warriors, I recommend taking a year off then come back, thats what i did and my expectations of the team arent so high anymore. The reality is, this team is more like the Sharks than Melbourne or Brisbane. Maybe the Warriors could learn from the Sharks who packed their team with aging stars, they built a team that wanted to win and didnt have much time to do it.

I can see potential in the outside backs where the Warriors have been weak in previous years

I agree with Tim burgess , replace the players leaving with prospects and treat this year as what it is now, building toward next year, finish the season charging instead of going out with a whimper. Anyone who isnt trying gets replaced and look to replace them before the start of the next season. They could even make Tevaga captain, no more pats on the back after mistakes.
