I will say it, because I can't be bothered reading the last 9 pages of misery. Those who think we will be winning our first ever wooden spoon, I know you are hurting, and you have every right to be, but we won't win the wooden spoon. Titans and Tigers are 2 points behind us, and the Doggies 4. One of those three or even the Knights will win the spoon.

We will get on a roll in the next few weeks and not look back. We won't make the 8 but we will be well clear of the spoon.

Looks like Going out with the Mrs and watching TOPGUN movie was the smart plan...

I didn't even record the game ..not going waste my time ..too fucking depressing

Still maintain Chanel shouldn't have been picked, given his VERY LOUDLY ADMITTED lack of enthusiasm. He and Lodge should have been punted this week. Absolutely wish Chanel the best with whatever he wants to do, but whatever he wants to do, playing in the NRL ain't it, so out you go, Chanel...

Shaun Johnson fans, is that kind of performance really what the Warriors brought the man back for? Yeah, yeah, very nicely done try for Dallin Watene-Zelezniak but, shit any semi-sensible half and wing can work that thing out on the training field. We do not look much better with Shaun Johnson in the team...

Reese should be relieved of the kicking duties this week. I'm sure there's people in wheelchairs who could have done better than make some of the screwups Reece has made this season...

For all the above emotional bitching, we got screwed over with the Sin Bin. A Penalty, yep, absolutely, but a Sin Bin?!.....Looking forward to what Mr Annesley has to say on Monday...

I can only assume it's Karmic payback for the Sin Bin Reece probably deserved last week...

Talking about Reece, has he made a defensive stop anyone this year? Or last? I mean he doesn’t set up or score that many try’s that we can just overlook his defensive frailties every week.

Look at the rabbbits putting kodi to fullback. Retarded? Yes! But it’s trying something. Why haven’t we figured out that Montoya would make a great running, defensive fullback and Reece in the logical 6 this year and maybe next with Metcalf to fullback.

You’re probably right you know, as soon as we can’t make the eight we’ll go on a run to just miss out.

Said it last week and saw it again today - we’re actually scared of winning.

Reece made a good one last week and another today.

Taking our best winger out of that position doesn’t make sense to me.

Recorded the game...talk about losing the game...basic basic errors
Take away the Chanel Harris-Tavita dropped ball, kick outs on the full the Warriors win this game.

The season is over. Top 8 is unlikely, on this basis I'd give Volkman game time given that he is contracted for next season, and Chanel Harris-Tavita is looking to walk away from the game.

Is it a Brown fault...no because he cannot be blamed for basic errors.

In all reality though, injuries were the start of our downfall.

Starting the season without Tohu Harris,
Loosing Dallin Watene-Zelezniak early on,
Shaun Johnson missing a few games
Then Curran,
Arthars (after showing good form),
Chanel Harris-Tavita after busting a nut…literally
Ben Murdoch-Masila (in a tackle that wasn’t really punished)
Egan,
Addin Fonua-Blake,

Suspensions also -

We had Walsh and Lodge suspended round 1. Montoya suspended 4 games.
Jazz out a few games.

Then we lose Lodge outright due to management dramas.

There’s probably others I’ve missed…and some of the names mentioned aren’t worth much of a damn…but the point is we’ve had a lot of roster disruptions which has disallowed combinations to really form for a sustained period of time.

Which has naturally tested our depth, which we also know isn’t worth too much of a damn.

Rookie centres - Berry, touted to be a big deal turning out to be very average. Same as Vailea - difference is you can see the X factor with him that I can’t see in Berry. As Vailea gains more experience in the game, you actually believe he can be a gun.

And there’s the Problem - these blokes learning their trade in the NRL, in an environment where we need to be winning games. A topic that has been exhausted already.

But then you look at guys like Katoa - looked like a prodigy in 2020 but hasn’t improved since. Still makes basic errors - abeit trying hard every game. (Yes I know he didn’t play today).

Same as the Murchies of the world - just haven’t shown the ability to iron out the errors in their game. Ben Murdoch-Masila failing to make much of an impact (as others said - brought in to wreck havoc on the edges, instead plonked in the middle).

Pompey - another who should have the tools to be a class player but lacks that top layer to be so. Especially since we let go of Herbert and Hiku.

Same as Afoa…means well, runs with intent but doesn’t bend the line like an Addin Fonua-Blake…even though you feel he should.

We’ve gone to the market and Brought in guys like Asi, Lussick, now Lui…even Arthars as a loan player. All have looked good at times but fact remains - they were fringe players at other clubs and couldn’t cut it, slim chance they’d be our saviours either.

I mean, Lui was playing QLD cup…(I know he’s signed for the Dolphins in 2023 but still).

Then there are the Coaching issues too - playing players out of position just coz…ie Ben Murdoch-Masila mentioned before, persisting with Aitken in the back row…failing to make real changes or go against a premeditated ideal. Getting the team to play postive footy…then pulling back on it after the first rounds as we made too many errors…now I don’t know wtf the game plan is.

Where’s the leadership in this team? Just doesn’t feel like the players are on the same page. Reports of Shaun Johnson going against coaches game plan…are the players revolting against the coach because they don’t agree with the game plan? But would the players know any better? Addin Fonua-Blake wasn’t the best choice for fill in Captain either.

It all trickles down from the top. This negative press about inept management…for a team already down on confidence, having its depth tested and being exposed…a player released mid season for no reason but still getting paid for it…another just allowed to walk away after barely giving a damn anyway (played starting FB for a team who poured on 44pts last night too).

Jazz called it how it is in his post game. Just not good enough, too many basic errors from key players that just shouldn’t be making them. Looked very frustrated. Called out his halves.

More jerseys than trophies.

There’s a multitude of reasons for how bad we’ve been playing. But it had compounded so much that it feels like a sin to support this team.

We’re in a bad bad way right now. We’ve made it harder than it should’ve been on ourselves…our poor form on field has it legitimate reasons…but it’s made worse by the bad press on our management, making us look like fucken fools.

Aussie media are loving it too. But they have the facts, and they’ll run with it.

NZ media will take as an opportunity to talk down on our league too.

Just a rough time to be a fan - but tbh when is it not?

Still. We should be better than this by now. Just feels like there’s always something bringing us back here. Positives never last too long. We regress to the mean.

And sucking is our mean.

Knights score - we kick out on the full and they score again.

We score - can't take the kick off, Knights score again.

Gifting opposition 12 points and this is not a one off. Stats rarely tell the story when there's about 5 minutes of mind numbing stupidity that costs us games week after week.

In the press conference Browny said some players were having their best ever game…

im genuinely curious who these players were, as nobody really stood out to me as having a great game... or is the bar set that low For this team?

Vailea, Pompey, Lussick, Otokolo all had great games considering their experience levels.

I think the coach is really just trying to motivate and keep the players confidence up, even if it’s not what he really believes. If the coach tells them they are hopeless and lost to the 15th place team, we will just kill recruitment, retention and results for the rest of the season.

Good to see Brown take responsibility for the loss and Lodge going, but totally not all his fault. Playing group let him down massively yesterday. And no way shape or form would I put Lodge leaving on Brown.

So there you have a coach fronting up for his team talking all the blame. When will the players do the coach a solid by concentrating for 80?

Yeah really did like luasick and otukolo yesterday, otukolo definitely had his best game since Brown has been at the club.

I honestly never thought I would be one of those guys who says they're done but I'm done, the clincher for me wasn't the embarrassing losses or the team looking like reserve grade park footy but...... this whole mess with Matt Lodge who has been one of the best warrior of 2022 has just left me really concerned for the whole warriors organization, I've lost respect for the brand, as a proud kiwi and Maori I've always supported our team as we have usually been an underdog playing against the stronger glamour teams and usually played with heart, I don't recognize this team anymore, for now I'm going to be a cowboys supporter until redcliffe join the comp

Me too. I posted something similar a couple of weeks ago.
See you next week
