Melbourne without half of their first choice spine walloped. Forget we are without half of our first choice spine

Jeez big effort to play - lost 4 kg he should NOT have been playing. Incorrect judgement from selectors and coach to play Walsh after he went through to that shit.
NRL is weird sometimes, and all teams do this, if your breathing they'll send you out there and try and get the two points.

I know we don't have a specialist backup fullback (why not) but surely a bit of squad rotation over long season has some benefits.

Teams just seem to expect that 26 weeks straight, with the 2 byes, of high intensity is a given.

Other sports don't do this, other than maybe NFL which is a shorter season, union gets flack for rest and rotation, but it generally results in less run down players. NBA and Football rest their stars here and there, NRL clubs just batter theirs into the ground.

There does need to be a dose of reality amongst the anger/panic (me included) around the club. Our squad is bottom 8, key players beat up, in an unprecedented location upheaval and a general outsider (NZ team). The performance is actually about right.

All this losing just SUCKS though

I watched the first half with interest, but when half time came around and i just had a feeling that there was no point getting invested in the game from here in. I played on the PC and had it in the background so i saw the result and most of the big plays but really wasnt expecting much and didnt want to put any real effort in.
Pretty much like the players as far as i can tell.

I said we should have put in a bid for Lachlan Miller, the Rugby 7s star. Sensational debut for the Sharks, 250 metres, 19 runs, 2 tries, 9 tackle busts, 1 long range sensational try. Essentially won the game for the sharks after a lack luster first half.

Just fill the team with X factor players and if we anything like Freddy and the Blues, we will find a position for them no matter where they are use to playing.
There are better 7’s players in Nz

Roster management wasn't a great strength of Kearney but had he have had a NRL standard 6 or 7 to pair with Green to begin 2019 then our club may not be in such a low position as it is now
BOOM there it is.

We had Tohu Harris Harris as our #7 and Chanel Harris-Tavita Debut at #6 together.

While allowing the release of 3 half backs and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, George then pushed SKs only X factor player and our #1 half Shaun Johnson out of the club, publicly via social media, (CEO's do not conduct themselves like that). Shaun Johnson never asked for that salary by the way. twisted. It could have been handled with so much more finesse and waited for SK to return.

Then management out of "oh shit we made a boo boo" thought its a good idea to hire a bench player for 2x his worth to replace Shaun Johnson (wt....) rather than waiting and accepting they flapped up and play the long game, even if it meant Tohu Harris plays 7 a bit more lol.

So then it gets worse, we blame an already limited Roster which just got exponentially worse between 2018 and pre season 19 on SK (which to some extent the roster is his call, but he didnt ask to have that occur either), hire the worst coach in the league, some how thinking he will be good at rebuilding after we just went through that and he (Brown) had just shown he definitely cant do that.

And what do you know, after 2 wooden spoons at Newc, Brown is on a 28% win record over the last 5 years and our worst coach of all time (SK is a genius in comparison).

Are we going to put up with this for another 1.5 seasons with more rubbish excuses, 2.5 seasons perhaps. Rip that damn band aid off, we flapped up and its time to admit it.

I desperately want another coach in touch with modern best practice like SK but with a better roster, Ciraldo please, he is tempted by Bulldogs, for love of goodness throw the piggy bank at him before its too late, and I mean literally whatever he wants, give it, and then add 15% for good will.

I would then consider offering Brown a role in management, he has a great footy brain, he just isnt a good trainer, he needs to find the right role for his analytical brain. Replace George.

All of that effective immediately (or once we sign one of those coaches listed in the Bulldogs Trent replacement article)

Of course, but how many are playing for the Warriors?

Hes been in NSW cup a fair while and was slaying it. Will be interesting to see if he keeps it up at the back.

SK actually never crossed paths with Shaun Lane at the club & seeing as Niukore first appeared at the Eels in the 2017 9's he probably didn't either. He had Curran at his disposal for less than 12 months & if you seen him play reserve grade you would have been unlikely to pick his new found success in the NRL. Kearney might have regretted letting Lisone go once Bunty done his knee to begin 2020 but I'm not sure if Sam would've got picked ahead of any of Pa'asi, Ah Mau, Blair or Afoa if they were all fit.

And...he kept picking Papa'ili cos he saw potential & work ethic but everyone on here dearlthrode his perseverance and the kid to boot.

Has anybody mentioned how bad Asis defending is? He’s soooo lazy. That Lorax getting out of ruck was all his fault, just stood around watching
This post has made me livid
People are bagging on Shaun Johnson for not steering us around the park well enough
However on Saturday and on the lomax in goal incident Johnson was excellent
It was 5th tackle and we could all see as fans that st George were exhausted and if we got another set it was try time
Johnson our 2022 little general correctly decided a repeat set was callled for and put in the perfect weighted kick
When wrestlemania started I knew it was imperative we win it
The sharks wanted to win the game More than we did so outpushed us in the wrestle
Not good enough.
In the game defining moment we didn’t try hard
And to hear “Asi stood and watched without helping” is maddening
Infuriating
Why did he not help ?
I want answers !!!!!!!!!!

I also noticed he was a speed bump on defence

Might be because he was playing the Dragons?

I thought the push back from the Dragons was illegal, given that they had hands on the defensive team, and thus should be construed as interference of the players?

Watch the game at Royal Tavern in Bondi. ( over here at the moment for a birthday, hopefully get back into NZ tomorrow). When the warriors scored, 6 Aussie guys at a table next to me stood and cheered. When the dragons scored, they cursed and threw their hands in the air. This continued the whole game so I asked if they were warriors supporters or did they punt them with bookies. One replied neither. They meet every weekend and cheer for team playing the dragons. I laughed but they were serious.
Anyway, with 10 to go, the barmen change channels to an AFL game that had just kicked off. Well these 6 just exploded, one yelled “we ain’t in Victoria mate, get this f@@king shit off” he changed back.
