I agree with that and Asi is a prime example. Is that because when they’ve played their debuts, they’ve only been here such a short time they’re playing what’s in front of them and then over the following weeks they are following the system that they’re being asked to play?
Yeah that is also my worry. An expansive game has been spoken about and all that has seemed to come from that is passing repeatedly well before the line. In that second half when it became about marching it downfield with some power and playing quickly off of the back of it we looked a million times better. Even the Pompey knock on from the Walsh offload was a good play and shouldn’t be discouraged. Would rather see that type of play than just going sideways for the sake of it

I honestly thought Tohu Harris Harris unlocked the team, whether that was the leadership that I’ve read people who have been at the games on this forum have said we looked like we lacked on the field. Will give it until next week to say for sure but I’m hopeful of the difference he makes to the team.

After all is written and said, we still lost. We are sitting in 10th as the worst defensive team in the league, Morgan has to go period. The next two games we need to win. To have any chance of at least making eighth. I have a feeling this will be a bad year with Brown getting sacked by years end.

Attached is a screenshot of the play before Taffe scores the try at 16-0

Walker #6 kicks through and Taffe #1 scores

This screenshot is immediately before Walker makes contact with the ball which is partially visible above his right knee

He side foots it with his left boot

Even at this point Taffe has his right foot in front of the kicker and so in the milleseconds that follow he will be further advanced as Walker can't advance his right foot until he has kicked the ball

Offside A player is offside if he has one foot (either on or off the ground) in front of a teammate who ‘last touches, is touched, held or kicked the ball’. Section 14 (1)

How does the bunker clear this as on side?

We should have the staff, we are a business. I really get sick of the low expectations everyone has for us like we are a charity, the owner is to blame for all of this!
I think Mohawk is the type of owner who likes to be in control, and is tight fisted with the pay. That is pretty much management 101 in NZ businesses if you have a good look around.

Management 601 is to employ really good people, pay them well and leave them to it, but expect performance.

That attitude then extends right down to the girl at the front desk, and of course the opposite applies.

I am not close to MSS, but my guess is that turning up to work and not rocking the boat is how this club works.

I also thought this was a clear offside watching live and was very surprised when the bunker didn't go back to it. I put it down to TV angles + the beaten pitch making it hard to be sure, but it definitely looks offside to me.

To be fair he hired Gould but circumstances made his job untenable. The lack of funds through gate sales etc must be tough. Putting money into reviving the junior system must be tough along with what the first grade team needs to succeed.

There is massive problem with our edges atm. The team needs to stay the same over the next month in order to build defensive chemistry. Teams are scoring by just going wide. Our defensive reads out wide so mud. 😢😢😢😢 the rabbits weren't even doing anything special, we were just playing touch for the first 30 🤣🤣
Feel like i've been saying this on full rotation for the last season and a half.

Clearly our compressed or up and in edge defence is a coached policy and has been since the start of last season where we getting stripped for numbers time and again as well....it hasnt just happened this season.

Time and time again a simple 2nd man play with a decoy runner opens them up......without fail our outsides shoot in to take the decoy.....and is gifting the opposition numbers everytime....we're not even making them work to create an overlap....at times we're creating the overlap ourselves for them when there was none....its just mind-numbingly bad coaching.

Tbh i've gone past blaming Morgan anymore (altho clearly he needs to be on the fast track outta here)....but at what point when its happening week after week after week does a head coach not take responsibility?

But there is nothing wrong with the team!

Brown showed no faith in Otukolo on Tuesday & he then went on to get 40 minutes for Redcliffe yesterday. Would that have been better for his development than his coach publicly backing him & then getting 30 odd minutes in first grade?

Considering lussick won't be at the club next season its not a great vote of confidence but can also see why you would be reluctant to bring him on at the moment. I would rather him share the duties with Egan backing him up and getting game time that way then just you are it.

I see it as more protection for his confidence at the moment, but maybe he shouldn't be in the 30 if that's how you view him. Goes to show why covid is fucking this team up.

I think the whole structure from top to bottom needs a total makeover. If this was a business that had an honest audit done on it some people would have long gone. The team is a farce in the sense that the club was set up to win a premiership eventually and showcase nz league .After this long in the comp we have achieved very little with last night's game just another reminder that once again 8th place and beyond is a total dream.Of course this has been said all before but every game has become groundhog day.

Disagree, but understand comments on Lussick... missed a one on one tackle to let Cook score.
Thrown into the deep end with a new outfit, but as the game progressed the passes become crisper as he warmed to the task with plenty of energy.

IMO Otukolo has had some time to make an impression but as yet has failed to deliver.
It’s largely because of that egregious miss tackle on cook that I am down on him
