Have to laugh at the Knights post match presser when they were bewildered at Ponga having the go off for an HIA with the game in the balance and 10 minutes to go. Maybe if you didn't stay down trying to milk a penalty you wouldn't have been forced off by the independent doctor lol. Karma...

Do u think he was faking?
I haven’t seen a replay but at the time I though afbs hip knocked him cold.
If he was faking he’s put himself in a bit of a predicament- esp considering his concussion history.
He would either have to come clean and admit he was faking it- which would not go down well with the fans or the nrl- or keep his mouth shut and keep playing along that he was knocked out, moving himself one step closer to retirement.

I supported the Auckland team before the Warriors existed and went to the Warriors first ever game...it was not the Broncos at Mt Smart...it was against Canberra Raiders at Carlaw park....pre season trial, that is the first time the Warriors ever played a game of Rugby league, I was the first fan at the gates, waited four hours before kick off, got to talk to John Monie as a result and lots of waves from the bus...they pulled in hours before...and there I was...their first ever fan at a game, and they all waved and smiled.

I watched Rugby Union until the South Africa world cup we lost, after that I never saw another game.

But league is a child hood family thing, so long time.

BTW I dont think any of that makes me more of a fan than you or anyone, that kind of fan stuffiness is rubbish.

I just have that happy memory of Carlaw park and the Warriors first game is all because we destroyed the Raiders that night...and all who were there had such high hopes.....

The Auckland RL team that came before the Warriors was much better than the Warriors bro...that is the real crime the Warriors have committed, tarnished the legend of Auckland RL. Auckland before the Warriors had claims on being one of the best clubs in the sports history globally...and they were great because they were tough...giant killers...no one scared Auckland, not even the Aussies or Grt Britain.

The Warriors have slowly killed off the sport to the point where it would be impossible to have the depth that existed in the NZ game before our club turned the sport into a bit of a locker room joke.
Yeah they even beat canterbury every now and then….. 😁
Btw I always thought our first game was against Canterbury at the addington showgrounds (which I was at and which turned me into a warriors fan as soon as I saw my hero at the time whetu taewa in a warriors jearsey).
Didn’t realize they had already played a game. I feel cheated.

When you stay down after a clear knock to the head it’s a no brainer(pun intended) surely to come off and be checked and stay off for the 10 or 15 minutes whatever it is whoever you are.

I'm pretty sure you're right about the game in Christchurch being the first. I was a kid up in the far north when they came to Kaikohe. It was massive to have them up there at the time, it was like having rock stars from another country. Didn't go to the game itself, but I think it was the one with the tragic accident.

Milk or no milk

If you down - then you go out

No exceptions

It’s that simple and a win/win for the game.

Don’t know why there’s so much debate on this

They should introduce it in football also. The amount of fake diving in that sport is ridiculous. Hurt your leg, pinky finger or pride? Well take 10 on the bench and ask yourself how much it really hurts.

Just rewatching the game, what really stands out is how much the team are buying into it. Every time there's a try saving tackle or line break all the players are so supportive all running over and congratulating the player. I'll be happy if this continues.

Was explaining the history of some players to my gf. New found warriors fan.

Right as I was talking about Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and his passion for the game (she was a Reece fan); he put on the try saver. Then on Egan try’s Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad was centre screen with the emotion clear on his face.

You can’t train heart.

Ok...found the stats on my android...fark the Murdoch family

Heyzeuss
Jackson Ford 12 runs for 150 metres....WTF has he been?
AFB 14 runs for for 135 metres...
Harris 18 runs for 145
Barnett 10 runs for 100 metres
Bunty 7 for 64
Tom Ale 4 - 52
Heyzeuss No wonder we were winning the sets...and didn't it show late in the game

PTB speed Jackson Ford 2.96 seconds ffs he needs to be swabbed!!!:D

What worries me is that although the forwards shared a fair amount of tackling Tohu Harris Harris had to make 51 and nobody else got near.
That fair worries me because those hits smash a body around.

Yes his kicking was none too pretty
Hi Shaun, or your father...your line kicking was not NRL standard
I also thought Bunty had a great game.
His stats show much the same as last year, the difference was everybody in the pack did better.
Having one kicking option is a real concern particularly if Shaun Johnson is having an off night.

Concern?? That is nightmarish stuff. One kicker gets hammered...he is an easy target...and he cannot kick properly already.

Bro what year was that? I think i was at that game. I completely forgot about that game.

Was a young fella down in ChCh playing my first Touch Nationals for the Bay and we went there, was too busy chasing skirt and was hardcore Bronco's at that time so it didnt really mean that much to me. For some reason the only thing i remember is Steve Price playing for the Dogs.

Talk about repressed memories.
