It’s looks like one big vagina hole
Geez, what have I been missing not having been in NZ the last ten years, the emitting of a greeny orbish aura coming at thee?

The Vodafone logo seemed much less out of place.

If anyone does a re-watch, keep a close eye on Egan. Some subtle genius going on. If I get an hour free I’ll try and capture it for a pod.
Have always been a big fan and noted his craftyness round the ruck, brings his forwards on to the ball so well.

He was a big runner coming through the grades, seemed to put it in the kickbag for us until last season he showed some glimpses. The running threat only adds to his ability to bring his forwards on, as the defence doesn't know if he'll take a dart now.

To add to this, I think one of the shifts in the momentum of the game came when Egan went off. Walker gave decent service, but we lost a bit of direction and crispness in the passing once that (forced) change was made. See the first set straight after we lost Egan - we probably should have converted that pressure into points then. Once he went off we lacked a little something there.

The key question is, can he sustain this level for 80 mins a game? Really hope so as he has developed his game well. Remember when we were thinking of playing hardball with his contract? Glad we didn't lose him.

Can remember a lot of times over the last few seasons where they show him getting up slowly, anguish on his face. Tends to get beat up a lot as the season progresses.

See how we go!

A long time.

I supported the Auckland team before the Warriors existed and went to the Warriors first ever game...it was not the Broncos at Mt Smart...it was against Canberra Raiders at Carlaw park....pre season trial, that is the first time the Warriors ever played a game of Rugby league, I was the first fan at the gates, waited four hours before kick off, got to talk to John Monie as a result and lots of waves from the bus...they pulled in hours before...and there I was...their first ever fan at a game, and they all waved and smiled.

I watched Rugby Union until the South Africa world cup we lost, after that I never saw another game.

But league is a child hood family thing, so long time.

BTW I dont think any of that makes me more of a fan than you or anyone, that kind of fan stuffiness is rubbish.

I just have that happy memory of Carlaw park and the Warriors first game is all because we destroyed the Raiders that night...and all who were there had such high hopes.....

The Auckland RL team that came before the Warriors was much better than the Warriors bro...that is the real crime the Warriors have committed, tarnished the legend of Auckland RL. Auckland before the Warriors had claims on being one of the best clubs in the sports history globally...and they were great because they were tough...giant killers...no one scared Auckland, not even the Aussies or Grt Britain.

The Warriors have slowly killed off the sport to the point where it would be impossible to have the depth that existed in the NZ game before our club turned the sport into a bit of a locker room joke.
Agree totally about that Auckland team. The moment I knew the Warriors were not in the same league (pun not intended) was when Ian Robson said they were in the entertainment business. That is garbage, they are in the results business. That Auckland team was based on attitude and effort. The Warriors were based on drums and chardonnay.

I had Dylan as a back up dummy half but I’m beginning to see he was a lot better suited to that first receiver role as a kind of roving lock distributing the ball. Maybe when jazz comes back he picks up those minutes at dummy half while Dylan mainly plays middle.

Brilliant post.
You are more of a fan than me as have much longer history,
Great read especially about Auckland RL

Loved seeing him repeatedly spotting Knights players out of position and running straight into them forcing the refs hand. We really could have gotten another one of them yellow carded with how many times they got pinged.

Sup

Wasn’t the Bartercard cup the national comp more of the thing that directly went on before the Warriors

I used to go and watch the Counties Manukau (Heroes) rl team before the Warriors in that national comp. I think Hitro Okesene was in that side along with a couple of other 95 Warriors and was Frank Endacott the coach.

I know the Auckland rep team were giant killers way back but before my time …

Fond memories of Carlaw Park attended couple of Kiwis games there.
Used to listen to the radio commentary with dad. Canterbury Bankstown played Auckland, North Sydney, Balmain. Auckland acquitted themselves well every time.

Yeah. You have to keep sending off until they learn. They were blatant. Knights look good. We did well to beat them.

Don't know if Jazz will make it back in. The standard is high now. No holes to plug that he can improve. Has to be an injury run.
