Roosters vs Warriors GAME DAY [Round 2, 2023]

Roosters 4

If the guys keep their shape on defence it will go a long way to winning. The real key is to keep their forwards under pressure the entire match. Fundamentals, good catch pass, support the ball carrier, territory and completions/

Buzzing. Watched Monty Betham’s interview with Webby and it’s clear to see we have a geniune coach in our hands. I don’t care how this season goes, but I know with Webby at the helm, I can proudly invest myself emotionally in the team again, rather than watching from afar jaded last season.

Hoping for this tonight, our last win against the Roosters. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years already
What strikes me from watching that video is how f'd off Kenny looked at when Sol didn't pass. 🤣

I have a feeling this game is going to be similar to th Indigenous V Maori game. After everyone pulling out, Maori had a far superior pack, but their backs - particularly the spine - was way worse off than the Indigenous.

Indigenous were largely monstered up front, but they scored 2 or 3 tries off the brilliance of one or two players in the back line.

I think it's going to be an arm wrestle, and the key will be if we can keep their stars - Walker, Teddy, Suuali and Manu from pulling off those individual pieces of brilliance that break a team. 2 or 3 pieces of magic from those players essentially takes the game away from us.
I hope our spike stands up better than the Maori one did!

If the Maori pack kept them in the game it speaks volumes about the importance of a good forward pack when our spine was Perham vs Latrell Mitchell, Dockar-Clay vs Walker and Turner vs Hynes. Don’t know much about Kieran Moseley but CHN at hooker was out of position for him. When comparing a largely reserve grade spine against a mostly elite one we did well. Our spine should be far better than the Maori one. I hope at least.

Today is a big test for our search for consistency. A decent win last week but now need to back it up.

Away from home against a top side that is in a bit of a slump with injuries. They could turn things around with the players they have or we get the next superstar debut and tear us apart.

We back to the grind of crossing the Tasman. The coach wants consistency its another challenge to overcome.

I’m interested to see if Victor plays. Roosters are generally really good with concussions, but they’ve got a lot of people out. Interesting to see where they stand on this and if coaches can be trusted

I don't reckon Smith is a hooker and think the Roosters will struggle pushing that. He is a bloody good middle though
He’s a good hooker but plays more like a lock. It’s all about his dummy half runs, shut him down and the pressure goes on the halves. The gables don’t have much protection with the limited forward pack. Of course as easy as an armchair critic.
