Surely that's a mistake? Top tacklers in Union rarely make 20 tackles in 80 minutesmade 34 tackles the commentators said and missed none.

I disagree, feel like his skill set is suited to 12.Roger Tuivasa-Sheck showed some good signs & displayed glimpses of brilliance. Will he become a better 2nd 5 than Laumape? I have my doubts. His skills are better suited to #13 or a roving #14 so he's probably more likely to make a RWC squad than Ngani was but it could be touch & go with the depth in NZR
I disagree, feel like his skill set is suited to 12.
At 12 they can make the game plan real easy for him, get the ball run hard and get past the advantage line. In the abs gone are the days where you need a 12 that can play like a 10, although it would be helpful you can run all the organisation through smith at 9 and who ever plays 10 while the fb can be another kicking option.
Imo he won't make a good 13, he does not have a great long passing game and doesn't sum up overlap situations fast enough, and 13 is a lot harder than 12 for defensive reads, where as 12 gets a lot of traffic mostly its a situation where you just have to be committed to tackling a big foward rumbling at you or a 12 or blind side wing looking to make some meters.
Im not sure about wing for him, he doesn't have pace like most wings, although he would be a great finisher and has the work rate, and would be good under the high ball i just feel like theres a whole lot more competition at outside backs to make the abs.
Tough injury setback for him, hopefully nothing to serious as him and rieko look like a real nice midfield pairing that can make it hard for the ab selectors to go past.
Your struggling to understand why the coach needs to make the game plan simple for someone who has 2 games of professional rugby at the age of 28?I'm struggling to understand why the coach needs to make the game plan easy for him????? The full back role in league isnt all that different union.
And a long passing game at center? Your wing is right next to you so you draw and pass. If anything the skip pass happens at 1st five or 2nd five.
I can think he's better at center paying a Frank Bunce / Craig Innes type of role. He should know how to defend, find holes and break tackles.
I agree long gone as the days where your second five used to be a Walter Little type - which is has made the game less attractive to watch.

The same player who has aspirations of playing at the highest level, but has 1 year to get ready. Undoubtedly he has taken advice from those in selection positions about his prospective position in the all blacks, which is why hes playing 12 at the blues.
If you watched the games you seen that the game plan has been simplified for him, they gave him a lot of touches and said run it up, very simple, even of kickoffs. Obviously trying to get him a quick feel for the game, but also play to his strength which is carrying the ball.
You also would have seen his lack of long passing skill in the huricannes game, where he had a wide open winger for a cut out pass but threw the ball foward and looping through the air. He has no feel for those situations, even going back to his warriors days, compared to Walsh who has a great feel and long passing game. These situations are what the center is for, 13 is meant to be the link between the inside and outside backs. Now imagine Roger Tuivasa-Sheck trying tomake these passes with the rushing outside in defense of test rugby.
Finally fb is vastly different in rugby which makes me question if you watch rugby at all, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is no kicker and would be woefully caught out in this department. At super rugby level tbe kicking game may not need to be as prevelant, but in test match rugby teams like the springboks would kick deep to him allday knowing he doesn't have a great return punt.
Wow he played schoolboy rugby 10+ years ago in his teens, you make it sound like both games are easy to pick up on and a decade of training specifically for league is just like training for rugby. You make it sound like he’s never played rugby in his life. He played rugby all through his college years and even played for the New Zealand school boys.
But you’re right in that I don’t watch rugby unless I want to fall asleep !!

You can see his league training has ingrained into him that on defense first contact needs to be high, this played a part in him getting fended off in the game against the hurricanes which led to the winning try. Looking to rocco berry you see he is still in his rugby roots and a lot of his tackles are still around the legs.
You are right though, even though i played rugby all through school and do now and again even to this day, i cant watch it any more its so boring. I have been keeping an eye on Roger Tuivasa-Sheck though and hes given me a reason to pay attention again.
Your beating a dead horse here, im not saying he cant be a standout player. Im pointing out flaws and explaining why hes beater suited to 12 because its easier to simplify the game plan for him there, he can form a combination with ioane at 13 which historically ab selectors have shown they like to go with combinations that work, 13 would be too much for him defensivly and in distribution, fb is a no go unless hes magically gained a punt that hes never shown in his career and wing could work but if his goal is abs there are so many good wings going around in nz rugby at the moment he would have to really standout to beat.I guess playing in the trial games doesn’t count then huh?
He didn’t just step off the plane and walk onto the rugby field.
He had all of this pre-season and last year to get mentally and physically prepared to re-adapt himself back into the game.
No excuses for a super star of his background.
Stats I saw online were 6 tackles 0 missed for Roger Tuivasa-SheckSurely that's a mistake? Top tacklers in Union rarely make 20 tackles in 80 minutes
SBW said yawnion was way more complicatedThe full back role in league isnt all that different union.
This I agree with, caveat SBW played second row / lock and never played Union at the level Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has in the past.SBW said yawnion was way more complicated
Geez better get my hearing aid fixed. 0 missed at least, only 28 short.Stats I saw online were 6 tackles 0 missed for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
SBW played centre at yawnion at test level. This I agree with, caveat SBW played second row / lock and never played Union at the level Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has in the past.
SBW played centre at yawnion at test level.
I heard SBW comparing centre in yawnion to centre in league.Grouse. My point is SBW played in the forward pack making it more difficult for him to transition to union than Roger Tuivasa-Sheck..

Got that? Still want to argue.?
SBW is in Sydney somewhere, give him a call.
I use to live and breathe union, now i can hardly watch a game of it because its so boring. The crucial difference at centre is blindingly obvious, the fact that the ball is contested at each tackle means the yawnion centre has to decide whether to kick or not. More often than not they do which adds to the tedium. The other option is simply to drive the ball in and get the forwards around you.
Six nations is that bad, France and Italy have pitch side bands that strike up during the game to keep the crowd awake
I’m losing the will to live just typing this.

Yawnion is just an aerial ping pong show and I only have enough space in my life for one type of ping pong showThe crucial difference at centre is blindingly obvious, the fact that the ball is contested at each tackle means the yawnion centre has to decide whether to kick or not.
