My question is wtf was he doing socialising with Rudolph who demonstrated in back tracking on his contract with us a lack of a moral compass.

I always laugh when some is caught doing something illegal that they say they are remorseful for making a mistake - all they are remorseful for is getting caught.

I wonder how many Broncos officials are reading this and going "Yep...Always thought something like this might happen..."
They would know it was going to happen because they would have been involved in hushing up all the broncs who have been caught.

I am no apologist for substance abuse, but am pretty sure it is rife among players.

What we can't allow is this culture to take hold. The red bulls and pills after a loss was one of the most shameful moments in our clubs history and we can't go back there

Seriously?!

"Lots of people do it anyway, so let's legalise it!"

May as well legalise domestic violence, then. Since so many NRL players have done it...

That's the logical endpoint of what you're suggesting. As morally bankrupt as it is.

I wonder how many Broncos officials are reading this and going "Yep...Always thought something like this might happen..."
It’s not the logical endpoint of what he’s suggesting as youve committed a logical fallacy with that little false equivalence.

Everything comes back to Kearney. He even drove George to coke.

On announcing his departure George asked "Where do I draw the line?"

Reece Walsh doesn’t do cocaine, he just likes the smell
Well, if the coach keeps yelling at you "I want to see you over the white line!" What are you gonna do?

It’s not the logical endpoint of what he’s suggesting as youve committed a logical fallacy with that little false equivalence.
I've made those before and I have been wrong before, but exactly what's the logical fallacy in this instance? Tragic's argument seemed to me to be exactly what I said "We all do it anyway, so legalise it."..

And I forget to add in my reply to Tragic: It certainly isn't a Storm in a Grand Final...

Walsh will be stood down while he gets the treatment he needs and the Warriors might be able to use his 2022 salary to attract another fullback. Otherwise I see DF or Dallin Watene-Zelezniak at fullback until RW's return.

Lol at some of you guys defending Walsh. You don’t just get arrested for nothing in Aus, trust me. Every merkin is off his face and there’s thousands out on any given night so you have to be spectacularly stupid to get locked up on a night out, especially in the GC.

I’ve be been thinking this for a while but didn’t want to say it - we’ve completely lost our identity as a team. We’re just a bunch of mercenarys with no attachment to the history or pride for this club. It’s just blokes playing for contracts and money and nothing more.

Sad day for the club that one of its brightest is in strife the minute he gets always from the cameras and bubble that’s kept him in check, doesn’t bode well for the future.

worst may yet be to come for this club.
Im not sure about that, I was arrested and charged in qld for drunk and a bit of lip to cops. Nothing to much, no fighting or anything, so it does happen

I’m leaning towards defencivebomb’s sentiment, this could be massive in future contacts, we can say we gave you your start and remember when we stood by you when you fucked up. Seems to be a culture in the game, probably because it’s out of the system quickly, Rudolph looked happy.

Stupid? Yes...incredibly immature, and will he need to pay a price for his actions, of course...but should he be crucified as much as he seems to be by many on here and on social media? No.

As some have alluded to, he's 19, got a big lot of money burning in the back pocket, and comes from a tough family with drug related challenges in the past (correct me if im wrong here). Youd have to be an incredibly strong willed individual to handle all of that on top of being put on the pedestal of being the next big thing.

He has owned it quickly which has helped control the narrative of the situation to a certain extent (and is the right approach imo), and I just hope his apology and remorse is a genuine one. For some reason I feel (and its purely a hunch) that it is genuine, especially in comparison to some of the other dickhead players that have rolled out apologies in the past.

It will show his true character how he handles the next 12mths or so.

My biggest disappointment about this is that he has a young daughter who he should be at home with supporting, cause god knows my mrs wouldnt let me out of the house for the first 6mths of our daughters life, let alone at da club letting rip.

In summary, - I think its dumb and immature, rather than entitled and arrogant. In my mind I have been comparing it to Proctor and Bromwich after they were getting after it the night of being hammered in a Kiwis vs Kangaroos test. They couldnt give a shit. But I think Walsh will learn from this...here's hoping.

NRL or law? NRL is three strikes, first is warning, second is something else, I think clubs can cancel contracts at 2nd, and 3rd is deregistration. But it might have changed to be more accomodating for players to get involved in treatment plans and so on

law…. Jesus, a good lawyer would find the move on order was wrong and the arrest illegal and all associated evidence inadmissible

It depends how much he had, it might just be a warning. Disagree regarding the move on order, it is a form of obstruction so all that needs to be shown his actions made the Police job harder than it needed to be.

My comment on legalizing it wasnt because everyone does it more that more harm is done through prohibition than if there was a regulated industry and issues were treated through health outcomes. I dont want to do it but I like a beer and growing up I saw a lot more violence from drunk people than stoned people so seems hypocritical to make one bunch of people criminals but it's ok for others like me to drink. Do you advocate making drinking illegal?

As for the comment on making DV legal, there is obviously a victim and a crime, in most cases with recreational drugs who is the victim? Society is the victim in terms of cost but the cost is higher because it's not legal regulated so gangs prosper and people dont get help.

Pre-season has even started and already this team has fallen apart.. don’t we also lose Lodge and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak for the first 2 rounds and Evans a month ?….. what a total cluster fuck.. 2022 our year ….. better make that 2032…
Bromwich, a senior player, got 2 weeks. If they give walsh, a kid, much more than that then doesnt seem fair. So I wouldnt expect him to be out for 2022

Sad to see this happening. It might just be a kid with a bit of coke. And we have all done stupid shit as young men.
But there is so much made of these young guys that they can start believing all the bullshit that is written about them. I hope that Walsh gets a reality check and ongoing pressure to behave from senior team mates.
Jarrod Hayne, Todd Carney, Brett Finch, Ben Barba, and Andrew Johns come to mind as fuck ups because they were allowed to think they were more than they are.. Hayne and John's had their sins covered up because of who they were while they were playing. But what major dick heads
And so many more when I start thinking about it. I hope they make sure he pulls his head in

Naden got a 3 month suspension I think, although he wasn't caught in possession. He tested positive whilst playing.
