I think Elijah Taylor mite get belted a few times by Adam Docker, he wont wana give his spot up to Marquee in 2014, Docker hits hard and is an impressive player
yeah some of his tackles are really dead in the tracks tackles, goldbergess.[DOUBLEPOST=1368765884,1368764565][/DOUBLEPOST]
I believe the reason why Elliott favours Carlos is that he has better ball distribution then Konrad. Elliotts made it very clear how he wants to see Manu utilised and that will only come about with a centre who can feed him the ball. You have to admit it's been a long time since we've seen Manu play like that...
im not sure if ive seen manu and konrad peered together but konrad i believe is a great distributor, he has a great draw and pass and knows when to give it, he reads play well example being the try godinet got a couple weeks which started with hurrell. hes put billy away a few times

The forumers that have played the game as senior footballers is becoming very noticeable..:) who all remembers when we were Coached to put players on there backs and have a good look around before you let them get up and play the ball, playing smart can be taught.

I'm always grateful for when people post inside knowledge of the game - all the stuff I otherwise have to work out for myself.

If putting players on their backs is such a common place thing with senior players, how does that sort of thing not become second nature with the players in our first grade team? There are so many deficiencies in their approach to the game, and how they get there is beyond me.

The flipside of it is that players are also taught on how to fall on their stomach, rather than fight in the tackle so that they can get a quick play of the ball away. Our props are pretty good at falling on their stomach.

On defence guys like Lowrie, Friend, Taylor and Henry are simply not strong enough to consistently put a guy like Kasiano on his back. They are giving away 20-30kgs, and usually just trying to chop him low if they are first there, which makes for a better tackle but a quicker play of the ball.

yeah, mannering is the only forward in our team who seems to be able to consistently wrestle the opposition onto their back in the tackle. for a lanky looking guy he must be deceptively strong

Laumape will only learn if hes playing first grade. Hes played very well in all his first grade games then hes demoted, yes demoted. If the warriors sit higher in the ladder then maybe but you dont give a guy like laumape a break when we are 2nd to last. Fans dont go to the games to see our team lose, they get paid to win, to get results. If ME has that relaxed attitude about his coaching then is he also on the outer? Inu had the same relaxed attitude from what I read here, and he was on the outer as well. ME has the responsibility to make sure we have every chance of winning each game. If Laumape is 1 of the best 17 in the club then he should play, simple

Yeah i think its much to do with the amount of weight going into the tackle. e.g lowry and friend go in together on a kasiano wouldnt get a dominant tackle as much as maybe a matulino and friend, maybe we need to call on our props to produce more tackles, too much to ask?[DOUBLEPOST=1368779983][/DOUBLEPOST]If this hasnt already been mentioned why isnt Laumape taking Tupous wing position? he has more brains and skills than billy why hasnt this happened already?

Tuimavave Vs Laumape in the centres. Laumape for me over and over again. Proved it yet still playing for the vulcans. Oh well bro get a good offer and go somewhere that appreciates your talents. Inu saga all over again IMO
He has resigned for 3 more years, as had Mateo and Manu.

not quite so simple, after all do you know what plan ME is working to, it may be 1 year, but it MAY be a 2 or 3 year plan. Last year was a disaster, most teams don't win the comp just after a disaster. And we don't know what the agreement is with the owners is.

But then he was pretty good in the first grade team.

Is there a kind of parallel with some Union players, in that they can be pretty ordinary in the Super 15 but always play out of their skins in the AB's. Ma'a Nonu is a very good example of this.

So we might have players that are hopeless in the Vulcans but always step up in first grade. Laumape? In which case, putting him or anyone like this in the Vulcans is pretty pointless.

The very act of putting a player there could easily be counter-productive, too.
"Hey you! Go and stand in the naughty corner!"

It's often the wrong medicine and good man management is what's needed. Inu fucked around, sure, but I'm guessing that under Des Hasler's management there's been none of that and instead of someone who made errors he got a star who performed like a star. On the cheap.
I think your over-reading the situation. I am sure that Elliot is just as vocal and explains himself just as well with the players. Laumape wouldn't have extended for 3 years so easily if Elliot wasn't getting him to buy what he is selling. I think Ngani is probably quite content with ME's view of his future.

ME doesnt get it we need points, Ben Henry there wont help, that whole right side is nullified looks like all our attack will be from the left side, i see us losing this game unless manu can bag a hatrick and maybe some Shaun Johnson brilliance, the way the panthers defended last week will make it hard for us to get good go forward.

Isaac John would have to be one of the most underrated Warriors since Joe Galavao.

Time and space was the thing I liked about that guy , he created time and space.

Very composed player ( starting to sound like what we need now )

It's interesting how coaches ( Cleary in this instance ) let people go then review the decision in another life......kinda what we are pinning our hopes on with Elliot.

Agree, John would be a perfect foil for Johnson. In the uk he joined the wrong club.

Yeah they're going at about a point a minute aye.

At 38 nil to the Rabbits the Tigers score a Try out wide , the touch judge is right there but still they go upstairs to review the touch line ( he's inside it by bloody miles ).

The refereeing attitudes in the NRL toward rank outsiders is apparent at times like those.

Really? He hardly played any FG so how do you work all that out?

Besides we had Maloney and John was never getting the 6 jumper over him or the 7 over Shaun Johnson so the right thing todo after his injury was to let him go.

It never fails to amaze me what rose tinted glasses people look through!!

youll notice souths have great wrestling, they get dominant tackles each time, whereas the tigers can get one at all,

I'm not saying releasing Isaac John was the wrong decision at the time.

Seems since we won a bunch of games during that handful that John directed from the halves that maybe he had something that was underrated ( winning form )....he looked comfortable in the NRL from the get go , for a half that's pretty good.

johns is a good defender to be honest i watched his game against storm even though he debut i didnt see him being much better than what TL is doing for us already except maybe he can defend better. would like to see him play out the rest of the season.

also what i like of him is he seems to talk alot, watch him tommorrow and see how much he does it, it might just be jibber jabber rather than actual info but its good to see, also i credit him for having alot of heart, he tries hard.[DOUBLEPOST=1368790134][/DOUBLEPOST]Rabbitohs have a really good dominant techniques, you hold the guy up first then the other guy attacks one arm and works him to the ground. i bet you 80% of the tackles tonight were dominant, would like to see them play a bigger pack like the doggies.
