Inu wasn't being played because of his constant appalling attitude and its effect on the younger players in the club, which was described by coaching staff as 'a cancer in the team'. Very different to Laumape, I hope.

I heard a similar thing from a friend who is the president of a club in chch- last year bluey was a guest speaker there and apparently told him that the club had committed to development and that inus casual attitude was a poor example to all the young players coming through and that's why he was on the outer

Yeah I heard similar stuff via a former first grader. People tend to look at Inu's form for the Doggies and point the finger at our club for failing Inu... they don't consider perhaps he simply didn't want to be here and was acting like a clown because he didn't really give a shit.

People act differently in different environments - it is not necessarily the job of management to change an environment to suit a player.

John vs Leuluai - I really hope TL picks up the points on our former U20s half who we let go.

I actually really rated John

I thought he was a solid and stable player, sort of half we need to play alongside Shaun Johnson right now

could never understand why we let him go, he was a good player in the first grade appearances he did make for the Warriors[DOUBLEPOST=1368746654][/DOUBLEPOST]
See what you mean, for me the key is why Hurrell didn't play against Bulldogs. ME must be working to a plan with him, surely. I presume Tuimavave will not be there too long being consistent with ME's development of younger players. I hope Henry goes back to 2nd row when Neilson returns. Ben there as 'a safe set of hands' at the moment. Also to be fair to CT, he had a reasonable game last week. I suspect Cleary will be sending runners his way this week. Also the fact that he can play fullback he is a sensible selection given Fisiahi's history.

TBH I would have rather have seen Laumape at fullback for the Vulcans. He looks like he could handle it skills wise. Just another option, standoff could be another place for him. However, those things can wait, lets develop him as a centre first I suppose.

I would rather have Matagi on the bench than Taylor. Taylor will be trying to impress his new employers and will look for the miracle rush out of the line and miss his man trick. Matulino and/or Lillyman can cover 2nd row.

Hard if anyone needs to be sent a message its Taylor

that message would be 'I see you are off to Penrith next year, well lets get you ready for that with some time in the Vulcans"

He picked up a major leg injury (reconstruction) and Shaun Johnson took his place as our "emerging half". With Johnson on rookie fire and Maloney our dominant playmaker, Issac's 1 year contract was not renewed.

Agree whole-heartedly. Solid, non-flashy type of player, good kicking game, good organiser, good inside step actually, and great on defence... he rocked a few of the storm players last week too.

Isaac John would have to be one of the most underrated Warriors since Joe Galavao.

Time and space was the thing I liked about that guy , he created time and space.

Very composed player ( starting to sound like what we need now )

It's interesting how coaches ( Cleary in this instance ) let people go then review the decision in another life......kinda what we are pinning our hopes on with Elliot.

Defensively though he is a different story. In his first game when he was fended flush on the face by Colin Best I gave him the benefit of the doubt but since that game its turned into a bit of a habit. He has this method of trying to grab a players Jersey first from arms length instead of his first contract being with the shoulder. Its a really poor technique and the resulting missed tackle is hardly surprising.

I completely agree about his tackling technique, he tries to chest on chest tackle other centres too often. When I played centre, I was of the theory that if its a second rower running at you early in the tackle count, chest on chest is fine because you are trying to wrap up the ball and will be getting immediate help from someone else anyway. The problem with doing it against another centre is that if they stick their hand in your chest and you dont get the hit on them, then you are off balance and they are on your outside, (ala Best v Tuimavave and Ropati v Chambers) even if you can catch the guy up you have probably forced your winger to come in and help which creates the overlap... and Manu will get the blame. Moral of the story, centres should always tackle centres low and try and chop them down (ala Tate v everyone).

Largely agree - but depends on the numbering situation. if it's 3 attackers on 2 defenders and you're the defending centre - I'd say go high and try to stop the ball getting to the overlap, but in that situation the opposition centre in theory should be trying to pass vs fend you in the chest so risk is lower...

Vulcans team has had a late re-shuffle with Jerome Ropati out. No idea why - presumably the hamstring playing up. If anybody knows, feel free to spill the beans

Maybe he's going to be subbing in at FB for the warriors with Fish dropping out? (no substance to the rumour - just idle speculation)

Coming from a completely unbiased point of view....I wouldn't have him in the Vulcans personally :D and I'm a huge Ropati fan.....just a realist at the same time.

If he's getting pulled out of the Vulcans to take an NRL spot I'm gonna shoot my eyes out with a nail gun.
Make sure there galvanised. Wouldn't want you getting tetanus :p

If we don't get inside word then we'll know if he travels with the team...

Ropati shouldn't do any coaching.. He's hardly learnt anything over the last 10 seasons in terms of his defensive cockups.

But something like a mentoring role, development advisor or promotion role would be good.

Man I hope he's not playing... Would make fuck all sense.

Why is it that every week we get this kind of drama, oh wait, it is the Warriors. 'Like sand through an hourglass'
