When was the last time you went back? I can tell you now that my brother runs a restaurant in Mission and that town is screwed. Cant call anyone sir, madam, Mr, Mrs or even bro cause that would be assuming their gender. As if the paleo, gluten free wasn't bad enough for him.

Yeah I totally get what you are saying Mt Wellington but that's Mission District. There's a reason why people used to call that whole side of San Francisco 'Nob Hill'. They're bunch of wankers ! When I say San Francisco, who I'm really speaking for is the whole Bay Area like Oakland and Daly City where I'm from. You want a low carb, macrobiotic diet there, there's a burning couch outside. You can go barbecue all the quinoa, bamboo shoots and brown rice that you like. I will be inside with my Italian salami meatball subs, my microwave three kind of cheese meat lovers pizza, eating deep chocolate fudge, marshmallow bits, ice cream using a frozen snickers bar as a spoon ... ;)

Still much worse than NZ on both counts. Fussy gender based mental illnesses and poor food choices (unless you from the Valley)...

Last weekend in fact. Some parts are gay. The end part with Chapel Bar, Three Brothers, Lime Bar and Little Easy are awesome. When was the last time you went there? Hero Parade???

I actually did go to the last Hero Parade ... but only for the ekkies & the ice ;):p

Seriously though, I'm a writer so I end up going to some fucking weird events from time to time

Last one I went to on Ponsonby Rd, about 3-4 months ago just before xmas, I was the only brown face in the entire joint & all these white people kept asking me about my thoughts on the Treaty of Waitangi & if I thought enough Te Reo was being taught in our schools like I'm some kinda expert on the matter just cos I happen to be brown

I tried to be polite & shoot the shit with them, but in the end I just ended up getting pissed off & telling this one particularly stuck up old white bitch ...

" look lady ... I'm just here for the free piss & the easy pussy, so push your white guilt onto someone else ..ok"

She then looked me dead in the eye & said ... "typical bloody darkie" & walked off o_O:confused:

I thought Paul Holmes was dead? Typical urban hippie though, point out their reusable hemp shopping bag just before jumping in their Q7 and driving off to the airport to fly out for their shopping weekend in Sydney.
If anything needs moderating it's those fuckers.

This may be more my own personal problem, but...

Is it worth considering a weekly posting cap?

If each member got say 30 postings per week there might be more consideration invested in whether or not to publish every single thing that comes into people's heads, or whether to repeat the same point over and over.

It feels like a chat room at the moment where I am eavesdropping on other people's private conversations.

Wading through it all is a chore after coming home from work. I can't imagine how tiresome it must get sometimes for moderators.

Again, perhaps I'm being a nana, but figured it was worth a conversation.

Fair call bro, but I for one come here to be entertained by the silly / off topic stuff just as much as I do to be informed by the serious stuff

Each to their own, but I personally think the mods already do a good enough job not letting side topics and or kidding around go too far astray

And there's always the block mode ... for the record I don't block anyone (not even Jonno lol) & I never will

I for one appreciate & enjoy all aspects all contributors make here ... silly-serious & everything in between

I've considered the ignore feature, but I actually value what all members have to say...in moderation!

Fully agree with you with the various reasons people use the site, which is why I thought it would be worth a conversation. Thanks for adding your voice. I enjoy the humour too.

I guess it is like life in general, some feel awkward silence when you are with a person and there isn't active conversation, and then try and fill it. Others appreciate the more measured conversation that happens when people consider what they are going to say. I live my life at work avoiding the people that are just going to talk at me...they are usually not that interesting!

I know I post a lot bro, but on the Warriors to be sold thread other posters have been encouraging me to go for it. Geez I wish that one would die soon...here is hoping.

Every site needs a local celebrity / whipping boy / old fogey bro! It wouldn't be the same without them! I actually miss some of Jonno's posts too.

I guess a lot of my feelings came from Fale starting to get into pointless rhetoric instead of answering in a professional manner. To me that didn't feel right and I felt there was some derailment that led him there. It was a thread I hadn't wanted to see get personal.

I'm not into censorship, Bruce. But all things in moderation is always healthy ;)

Totally hear you. Its such a hard balance to get to.

Good conversation to have for sure. In the past we have messaged people who were using the site as a chat forum...will probably send it friendly reminders to chief offenders.

Actually got a better idea. BRB just about to ban bruce bruce ;)

Hardest thing is striking that balance. Personally I like the more indepth posts that you actually learn from but its the humorous ones that give this place that community feel. Certain threads, mostly the sticky ones that are dark grey on the thread list, I clean up as much as possible.

For every person like you there is another that likes the laid back atmosphere and loathes being moderated. I'm time poor these days and don't like having to wade through banter to read the good stuff. Because of my role I literally have to read everything which is a damn chore but one that needs to be done.

If anyone has any suggestions on how we can strike a better balance please post up or PM us mods. Always looking for ways to make the experience better for the majority of members :)...

Same here.

If it wasn't for "Warriors To Be Sold" thread I don't think I would post here much at all as I much rather prefer listen to what others have say on here than spread my own opinions. Honestly, I have learnt alot from you guys and just want to take this opportunity to thank you for it. So once this club has sold I think I will go dark for a while. Anybody on here still wants to listen to a really big fat guy rambling on about useless, unnecessary, random shit all time that has nothing to do with what we've been busy discussing I don't know, you can always friend me on my Facebook I guess ? I mean just how many Johnny Ray's would there be in this country ? Two. Me and brothel in Hokitika. Hmmmm. That explains all the ads for Asian porn sites that I keep getting on this site and box of butt plugs that I got in mail last week with my latest KFC pamphlet which I've been using as corn cob holders ever since. I'm going to go and brush my teeth ... :D

Welly I know I give you shite sometimes. It is just because we are so passionate about our arguments, like a couple of drinking Irishmen.

However brother you do an amazing job, I couldn't do it. So fear not just keep going as you are.

I feel the same sometimes. An opinion is only valid here if you are available 24/7 to defend it.
Love the Warriors though, so I battle through waiting for updates on the team.
If people had limited posts, even per thread, then life would be easier.

I wish there was another way to get my warriors fix.

I have won the bookie competition the last two years running, and still haven’t received the two Warriors jerseys they said I’ve won.
Just don’t feel I’m part of the community.

Just feel gutted sometimes, but keep coming back.
