Soooo drop Tomkins ?![]()
I'm definitely leaning towards the 'let's look to next year' type outlook.
Tui simply has to go to the halves. Yes Tomkins may do a better job but to what end? So we maybe win 1 more game than we might have? 2016 will not be a successful year if TL is our first choice 6. Tui needs some time to understand what's required in that position at this level if he's ever even going to be considered as an option there.
Continuing with that theme, there can be no Lousi, Havili or Rapira on the bench. Unfortunately for Sam, whilst he tries hard, he just isn't up to it physically and he is leaving. I don't care how Lisone has been traveling in reserve grade, he needs to come back onto the bench, and he can come on in the front row or even a spell in the backrow if that suits. Start prepping these fucken players for next year and do away with the dross.
I think I'd prefer TL as first choice 6 next year. He's tough, one of our best hitters defensively, and can ball play. With the Likes of RTS and Luke in the line-up, I'd opt for a more defensive half in TL. Tui is nowhere near as solid as TL in defense and you can see from Chad this season, how much a poor defensive half opens us up.
I've just seen enough of TL to know it will completely kill one side of the field. The number of times he'd receive the ball on the run, shoulders and hands going everywhere looking like something is about to happen, only to lay off a shit pass, a nothing kick, or get caught with the ball in hand. Similar to Chad, he lacks too much on attack to be able to hide in the lineup. Put simply, he's not good enough. Tui may not be good enough either, but I sure as hell want to give him the opportunity.
Hell we'd probably pick the shark that got beat up.Looks good to me, except I'd like to try and find a spot for Mick Fanning if possible.
