Players havent been informed of the team list as yet so no early news. They find out tomorrow.

Centre dilemma is anyones guess. Been told that Cappy doesnt rate Dane Nielsen but he may use him for his experience. Other option is Ben Henry at centre and Agnatius Paasi or John Palavi but that was all speculation from the player I spoke with. He also thought that Tuimoala Lolohea may get a call up if David Fusitua was out. Fusitua is 50/50 at the moment and will probably be named but have a player named on the extended bench waiting to replace him. He will be given until Saturday to prove his fitness...

Agnatius Paasi is zero percent change imo - perhaps to come on the bench if they move benry.
Paasi cant really play centre.

Benry will play centre - but reckon Nielsen is genuine chance for the wing spot.
Doesnt have to be on fire more like doesnt want to make mistakes.

They dont have many other options for wings. Steven Waetford or Tui Lolohea.

If they move benry I wouldnt mind seeing RFM getting his debut.
But they will select Palavi.

How do you reckon Tui would handle the wing? Has he ever played there?

For mine, I would rather go with Kata, he's been playing wing for a few games in NSWCup, right? And if not him, I'd go with others suggestion - Peyroux.

I mean, a back 5 of;

1. Tomkins
2. Kata/Peyroux/Lolohea
3. Hurrell
4. Henry
5. Vatuvei

Is still pretty good - we're not really losing all that much. And given the fact that Suaia is retaining his place, I don't feel any more uncomfortable with the side facing the Panthers, than might have otherwise faced them with Laumape and Fusitua in the team.

Ben Henry carved Melbourne up at centre. Obvious, and i mean obvious option. Havili then to take his place on the bench. And we just pray Fusitua makes it through to Sunday.

Only thing I dont like about Siliva Havili on the bench is that he is only a specialist and struggles as a utility. This was obvious during the Bulldogs game when Ben Matulino went off injured. Everyone else in the forwards will have to play longer because of his selection...

With Uncle ivan knowing our players so well it may not be so bad throwing in a couple of unkown quantities into the mix.
Penrith after the last year Penrith are my #1 team I wanna beat, kets hope we can smash them!

I definitely see your point. But when talking hookers he is as big as they get, Havili. That game was his first ever, if i remember correctly. And he was quite good against a big name Souths pack a few games later. Albeit as a utility/hooker i still was impressed with his impact. And i am very comfortable with him holding his own on the edges (If need be.) Besides all of that he was in excellent form anyway and most likely never deserved to be dropped. So to me its a positive all round!

From the stats, Havili's defense is on par with Friends, while being more dominate. Would it be such a bad thing to use him to plug a hole like Benry does?

Heck a lot of fapping over Mansour, he's not bad but throw a few bombs up his way, turn him around and he has his troubles like other wings, looks good falling over the line for tries but keep him busy and he gets flustered

Is knobbit the hobbit Locke still around? someone ask him if he's keen for one last hurrah on the wing... bide some time until Fusitua returns:D

Lolohea for Fusitua

Laumape gone, Henry in his place

Mateo to lock, Seb to bench

Havili or Faitala Mariner in place of Henry

If you watch Penrith play this year, you notice that Mansour rushes up and in all the time and its worked most times but he can be exposed quite a bit, Parra did it quite well back in round 5. Something that Tomkins' fast hands can exploit no doubt about that. With No Laumape, we need the replacement back to be able to cart the ball back to replace what Ngani does- to me this rules out Peyroux.

No one has love anymore for poor Carlos? one minute he's being compared to Laurie Daley, the next, he's no where to be seen.

Also, what happen to TL? when is he due back or is he gone for the season?

We've had our own 'up and in' wing defence exploited often enough in the past that our guys must be experts on being able to do the same to other teams by now.

image.jpg What scares me is the return of the marque. His confidence has soared with the panthers from when he used to cruise the Auckland streets after dark with his personalised Mazda 323 s/w with his name in 125 font on the sides.
