I think this week if the toughest one to pick the 17 for.

I’ll go with..
1. Nicoll-K
2. Kosi
3. Pompey
4. Williame
5. Montoya
6. Martin
7. Johnson
8. Fonua-B
9. Egan
10. Afoa
11. Ford
12. Niukore
13. Barnett
14. Walker
15. Ale
16. Tevaga
17. Curran
18. Sironen

Dallin can play cup for a week to knock the rust off like Tevaga did.

Williame takes Vaileas spot- our edge D looked like 2022 for the start of that game, and while I like to imagine am usually okay with taking a couple licks to the get games under the belt of a talented young guy, we just can’t be having that.

How the bench looks with Barnett coming back throws my head through a loop- I’ve gone with Sironen to be the one that drops out of the team rather than Curran, and Tevaga to drop to the bench rather than Afoa but it’s anyone guess as to how it will look come Tuesday.

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in for Kosi. I’m a big Kosi fan but he made a few errors under the high ball. He will get more chances this season but Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is the incumbent and due back next week.

Curren in for Sironen on the bench. Just offers more.

All of Barnett, Te Maire Martin, Harris back if available

50/50 on Vailea. Another one I have big raps on but his D is a worry.
Agree, send him to the reserves for more experience, he needs to be mentored, center quite a hard position to learn, would replace him with either Williame or Rocco, Vailea too young, can't read the play at the moment. fingers crossed he gets better. Wahs 4eva.

Agree Valieas D is still developing but both edges were exposed by the Sharks running with shape early. Like last year out middles we’re sucked in and our backs were exposed with overlaps and cut apart.

I think our backs were exposed because there middles physically bullying our middles early.

With our performance yesterday and such a long season why not rest the skip till he's a hundred?
Especially if we can win without him also Dallin Watene-Zelezniak might go well in nsw cup, Curran off the bench looked super deadly.
With a tough draw coming up rested players be paramount having the luxury to pick n choose is even better.

Taking the long view this game, it looks like we really did get the short end of the stick regarding draw difficulty, at least for the first half of the year. This game, along with the dogs game coming up, seems important for us, to build us confidence for our encounters with the Roosters, Panthers and Storm we have coming up soon. 6+/10 to start the year is eminently possible before origin kicks in.
