going to throw out a speculator ... and not one well timed for this week, but hear me out : thinking about how well our defence is holding up so far (as others have mentioned, pretty much leaked the least number of points out of those teams on 4 games played) barring those shaky starts ... and also noting that while our attack has some good shape it's not quite biting yet ... and considering we have the weapon that is Metcalf to come back ... maybe, just maybe you could consider moving an excellent defender and organiser like Te Maire Martin to a centre spot and bring Metcalf into 5/8 when he's proven fit, for that extra speed...? ready to be shouted down on this.

Your trying to climb through a 3rd story window while the front door is open and unlocked.

As long as Te Maire Martin continues to lay on tries and repeats he needs to stay at 6

For a player playing NSW Cup to replace someone in the NRL side they have to be outplaying the incumbent. Not just playing as well, they have to be dominating. Difficult to do, even considering loss of form.

I think it is sensible for players returning from injury to play NSW first

yeah, a poor imitation of webby's actual genius (or call it a tribute?), you'll find me crumpled on the back deck with a broken collarbone

Sharks looked very good, Hynes almost unstoppable.

I will be very surprised if we win this.
Bear in mind that Sunday's try-frenzy was against the Dragons, who appear to be the new "We Curl Up And Die When Things Get Tough" team in the NRL.

But, yes, for a first up performance Mr Hynes looks very, very good.

Egan comes back if he meets the protocol standards (obviously) and I'd definitely rest Tohu Harris and Te Maire if they're not 100%. It's a long season and it wouldn't hurt to try something different in terms of combinations.

Might not see Curran in the 17 for a couple of weeks unless there's injuries or suspensions.

" Webster also confirmed Josh Curran's current absence from the NRL line-up is due to performance, not concerns about the hip injury he suffered in Round 2.

"We wanted to put him back to reserve grade and give him some more time and more minutes," Webster said.

"Josh's form is not terrible by any stretch of the imagination, just there are a couple of things we want him to work on.

"He knows that, he's comfortable with it." "

Sharks so far have the best attack, but also 13th (6th worse) defensively, whereas our attack has been okay but defense wise were first equal with a few other teams.

Niko is a biiiiig needle mover for them. Contain him and we go a long way to winning this game.

I feel kosi deserves to cement his spot he was very good out there on Sunday I reckon Dallin should go Nsw cup just to refresh.
It's not like it's another home game this week either.
For me just for the Sharks game, bring the experience back against the Knights. Just want to see how kosi goes against Mulitalo, he's playing with a lot of confidence and we need that in a huge game for the club.

If Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is back, id have him & Kosi as our Wings - push Montoya into the CNTRs for either Pompey or Vailea.

Maybe Vailea to miss out, I think we'll need Pompeys defense this week over Vailea's attack
That's a lot of changes for the sake of changing it up! I don't think that's a good thing on that edge when they are a bit settled there. Vailea's threat on attack will be needed against a Sharks outfit that can score points. I back him to get his defense in order this week.

This week should be about who's doing Tohu Harris's role!?

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak I believe was/is envisioned to be in the starting squad whilst fit. Kosi has done enough to not miss out, Montoya has gone another level and has experience at CTR - likely trained there too. We can have Dallin Watene-Zelezniak have a week and work back through playing in the reserves, it wouldn't hurt, but I dont think it is that much a change, its only bringing back an experienced wing and moving one to CTR.

You're not wrong about them being settled though and can't argue changing a winning a team. Guess we'll have to wait until 6pm to see what Webbys thoughts are around Dallin Watene-Zelezniak involvement if any.

Barnett for Tohu Harris.

Spot on mate kosi has been on the improve hard, the coach must be installing so much confidence in them.
Bring him back just to reward him for his new found form.🤞

Id bring Barnett, Egan, and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in for Tohu Harris, Freddy and Kosi (rough break for Kosi, but I think like Webbys spoken about, swapping like for like player instead of mass positional changes).

With this in mind I don't think the Bunty to starting spot has worked.
I would put Bunty back to the bench, Barnett to start there, and Curran either starting at 13, or Jazz starting and Curran on the bench. Although, I do like the game Jazz has been playing from the bench so am reluctant to change that

I trust Webby will pick the strongest team available, make the necessary changes but keep it to a minimum.. bit hard to speculate on players we haven't seen take the field yet this year... forget last year's form ... these blokes are different now.

Yeah you are right

I apologise for that low blow,

I am just frustrated about the campaign from one third of this web site to get him into the first grade team ahead of players who I perceive as being much much better than him.
Berry has a very strong lobby group on this web site and I don't know what they see in him. Last year when playing for Redcliffe he was getting compared to Kurt Gidley on a regular basis and other League legends. When in reality he is whet behind the ears and needs at least two more years in reserve grade.
Berry has a rugby name, a cool hair cut, and he looks like the next Joey Manu.....happens a lot...a guy has a Ferrari frame and turns out to be a land crab.

Not saying here that Berry might not be a good player one day, just saying he is not looking as good as I had hoped and he has a long way to go.

His Dad played for a short time in the All Blacks from Wairarapa Bush. Not overly talented but a hard, determined player who always gave his best and very consistent. If Rocco can develop those qualities he will go all right. He is more physically gifted than his Dad.

Egan will be good to go, apparently Webby said he was fine last week but couldn't come back due to new HIA stand down rule.
