Hold on that’s an oxymoron (I think- I’m no wrighty..)
The team named on Tuesday had Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in it- the winning team didn’t….
What to do….? 🤔
Normally I’d say Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in for Ed…. but does Ed deserved to be dropped? I thought he went really well last night.

And I’m still struggling to see where Jazz would fit it… unless he’s used as a second bench prop. Walker, from what I took from last nights game, is, barring injury or a dramatic drop in form, the #14 for the season.

Kosi played his best game as did Pompey. However, I would put Dallin in for Kosi as my only change. Tohu Harris was a work horse but loved the aggression in Barnett, Niukore and Ford in particular. We look better when they were all on the park. Curran could find minutes tough at the moment too - and he has been our best or close to over the last couple of years - that's a good sign for this pack. A good problem to have with Jazz when he comes back too....

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 100% comes in if fit. It’s not necessarily kosi getting ‘dropped’, that’s Dallin Watene-Zelezniak position until he has a few shockers. He’s proven he’s a high quality winger, yardage and finishing and speed. He comes straight back in. But, he now knows that kosi is chomping at his heels which is awesome. No other changes. Can see the interest in lussick, but Egan can handle big minutes and I want him out there as much as he can. Walker was brilliant as a mid/lock and can do a job a hooker if need be.

Same team, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in for kosi. No other changes. Although I’d like to see ale get 20 mins, not 10 but not sure where that comes from. Maybe give ford a spell, and move marata to an edge? Not sure but I think we can get more from ale leg speed against tiring teams.

Sadly, with all the older injuries, there isn't a lot of cattle left to tinker with.
Happily, we defended well and kept them to 12.

The problem will come when Jazz comes back and when Curran is fully fit.
I like him coming off the bench, though it sets his minutes and focusses his efforts.

Quite the quandry with that already byzantine rotation.

Jazz has had a limited pre season, wouldn't mind him coming back via NSW Cup to get that match fitness up to scratch.

Anyway, never change a winning team. Same team list as last Tuesday please Webster...
I will never understand this. Just cause you won does not mean you can't name a better team. It is no guarantee all your players performed better than anyone else

Haha I think we have this argument at least once a year.
I’m a big believer in momentum- we won, the chemistry was there, their confidence is up- gotta ride a hot hand I reckon.
When it stops working u make changes.

We have a decent chance of beating Rooster - they are always slow out of the blocks each season.
Where does this assumption come from because you must have posted this exact same thing 10x already? For the last 5 years the Roosters have won at least 60% of their first 5 games and 80% of their round 2 games. Their round 5 average is 64%.

2022 - 3/5
2021 - 3/5
2020 - 3/5
2019 - 4/5
2018 - 3/5

The Warriors by comparison have a 5 round average of 56% and have only won 20% of their round 2 games.

2022 - 3/5
2021 - 2/5
2020 - 2/5
2019 - 2/5
2018 - 5/5

Comparing apples with apples your opinion actually has us starting slower and likely to lose this encounter...

The way I figure it we don’t have much depth
We have the 17 who played last night
Plus Metcalf halves and fullback injured
Plus Vailea centres available
Plus jazz lock available from round 2
Plus Dallin available from round 2 wing

Anyone I have not listed is not nrl standard
We have 21 guys to get us through the season 3 back reserves and 1 forwards reserve
Ideally we will recruit a high quality prop as inevitably Barnett or Addin Fonua-Blake will get injured or suspended

Its up to the other guys in the top 30 to show they are up to standard when they get their chance. Ford has already shown that he is more than capable despite his signing being questioned by many and the Dragons not retaining him.
I'm sure they will be more who take their chance this year.
