This is a club culture thing too ain't it?
You don't drop the boys who got you a rare 3 win sequence if you want a winning culture in your organization.

The only changes should be veterans who are out through injury becoming available....and even then...only if those Vets have been maintaining a high standard in rehab in terms of their attitude and desire to play.

That type of off feild professional is what you get with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Harris, and Tevanga. They all have reputations of training very hard, and being out and out tough men that play through pain. The Warriors used to be short of these guys, now they got 3 on standbye, things look good.

Montoya Is a tough guy, he's a workaholic lunatic, but he will get banned, so hopefully Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is fit and can swap sides to allow Ed Kosi two settled games in the same spot...to help Kosi with the defence.

Arthur's and Pompey are both tough guys....really this is the first time in the clubs history that a coach has played tough defenders in every edge position.....and look at the results....throw in Chanel Harris-Tavita and Shaun Johnson and you have the best Warriors defensive backline ever.

Walsh is the weak point, but he has improved immensely in the 1:1's and who knows where is ceiling is.

I'm not a fan of moving away from our tradesmen defensive backline.

It is a deliberate ploy, a outsiders strategy, to change two decades of the Warriors inability to become a top four team, one that can play in 12 point games....because every single Warriors team ever...leaks on its edge.
This is why the Warriors have been trapped in this chase mode, you score we score, we are still stuck in it, our packs starting too slow.

We are approaching a new Era. On the cusp of a different style of league. Tacklebot backs and tacklebot forwards.

We just need Harris and Tevanga and these slow starts will begin to be solved, the middle ground will firm, making those backs lives a lot easier.

Those three small Aussie backrowers have a simple job, keep up with the pace of the game when the Refs got a hard on.

Not a role I would cast Katoa into in a hurry.

Plus Arthur's is hitting that Shaun Johnson channel at the line with speed, we don't need someone bigger and slower that can't pass...when really everyone in the world knows that move.

All these machinations...excuse the rant...are undone if you go back to giving attacking players second and third and tenth chances...hell we been down that road under every coach.

It is interesting to see what Brownie will do when Harris and Tevaga are back, I think both are really important for the playing 17.

Personally I would have Tohu Harris starting at Prop and Tevaga on the Bench. The team is in a position where top players cannot make the match day 17. Wel done Brownie

Addin Fonua-Blake and Lodge as starting props
Aitken and Curren in second row
Tohu Harris at Lock

Tevaga and one of Katoa/Sironen/Murchie/Ben Murdoch-Masila on bench

I think Fonzie or someone show re-bump his cohesion pod cast of last year. It doesn't really matter if a better player is being left out of the line up. It is more important a winning team isn't changed (within common sense or reason).

As mentioned I really hope Chanel can play this week. Our spine just played 2 games in a row and my verdict is this

Game one for the A spine vs Broncos - some nice back line plays where they all chipped in and combined. But Reece and Shaun didn't combine. Possibly reece overplayed at some points

Game two for the A spine vs CBs - Shaun and Chanel Harris-Tavita united a lot more. Chanel Harris-Tavita grew an arm and a leg realising what his role needed to be and how we can he support Shaun. Reece didn't over play his hand this game. Reece still not linking up with the Halves as the third playmaker. Will probably come in the next two games.
As a bonus Nikorima and Egan at 9 and 14 gelled better and were able to optimise their energy levels better. Egan was able to be rested for a good twenty minutes and come back strong to finish the game. That hooker combo 9 and 14 interchange worked much better second time around due to cohesion.
Finally the wide edge offence continues to be a problem due to lack of cohesion with the winger staying out to wide making Shaun have to push the cut out pass too far. This resulted in an intercept and try against this week.
That cohesion will come if the same wings keep playing.

Brown not playing Berry was part of the win this week in my view. It sent a signal that he is rewarding the whole team for winning.

We are in a great position to be having this conversation as when you lose then you do want to change the side leading to a loss of cohesion and further problems.

Keep the same team mostly
Kosi deserves his spot. Haven't seen his attack but I feel that's because Arthurs is ball-hogging a bit - with success.
He's performing his hit-ups and defending fine. Don't discourage him.
If Montoya is out, then Berry in and Pompey to wing. Selection consistency is important. I wouldn't bring Ratuva into the mix on a big game. I think defence is going to be more important than attack for this game.
I'm not liking the second row balance though. I'd have Katoa with Aitken and Sironen on bench.

I'm assuming Tevaga suspended and Masila injured.

Am I the only who hates the keep the same winning team thing. Just because the team wins doesn't mean everyone who played was perfect and others don't deserve to return. I.e what if Jazz was available this week

As much as we are building cohesion we have a long way to go as for various reasons only reached a promising combination in game 4.
Robinson was on TV last night and said that mid week and pre-season time was only partly effective, you actually need 8-10 games for a spine 1, 6, 7 and 9 to fully glue together.

Our spine has had two games, games 4 and 5.
The following Analysis will be rat shit as I have never played league but posting it for entertainment purposes.

If it takes 8-10 games to gel then we are about 25% gelled right now. We will be looking to consolidate on our first two matches and still keep things simple.
After three matches, ie when we play the storm we may see some fledgling extravagant plays.
