Pick Your Team Pick Your Team 2022 Rnd 3 - Tigers vs Warriors

Exactly what I was thinking. I would have had Kodi but there is a chance Kodi gets an early release with Souths if the sign him for next year.
What's the rumour? Where did you hear this? Who is South's depth at half

Maybe Kodi would be an upgrade over Taffe (spelling?) but we would really need Metcalf involved somehow coming back.

They got great value from Taane Milne from us, so maybe they want to go to the well again for a Warriors player.

I am intrigued by this news.

I have something to say that I could take 300 words to fully explain, but in the interests of being succinct will say it quickly

1) Addin Fonua-Blake is the strongest leader the Warriors have had since Price. We were losing 12-0 on Saturday and facing a hiding. He addressed the team and gave them new tactics on the fly and the team listened. His tactics paid off and we nearly won. We just didn't adjust the tactics again with 20 minutes to go. He will learn from that.
This warriors team will have character this year and a backbone.
Watch the presser again. It is fascinating and watch what Addin Fonua-Blake says word for word. It is pure leadership talking. Addin Fonua-Blake is our captain.
The only downside is that he will yield the captaincy to Tohu Harris when he returns.

2) Out team has more talent than most of the other sides in the NRL. We had top 8 talent last year but just couldn't close out many close games. This year we are even more talented having
a) Acquired Pene, Taylor and Shaun Johnson who are upgrades over the 2022 versions Jamayne Tounua-Brown, Sean O'Sullivan, and Kodi

Our team could theoretically finish anywhere from 6th to 16th.

Is anyone else online and at a loose end? Anyone have time to help google validate this Kodi rumour. I am searching hard as we speak.

I watched the second half again this evening and 2 things I noticed.

Taylor was doing the 1%. Cleaning up defensive grubbers, repeat sets off deft kicks, setting up structure around him, closing holes defensively, etc. Even the missed tackles he was rushing out, half stopping the runner and the defence would easily tidy up. Taylor is a quality player, on old hips. A lot just didn’t go our way as he could have set up another 2-3 tries if things clicked.

Second thing. We only lost the second half due to the refs, reffing only 1 side. About 6 game changing decisions that all went the Titans way. The only second half try was on the back of a nothing ‘inside the 10m penalty’, that took the Titans down our end. Then the Walsh head hit non penalty…

We actually played well that second half and if we keep that up and get the stupid errors out of our game we are more than competitive.

1 Walsh (he probably is a better 6 but Chanel Harris-Tavita just did well at 6 so leave Chanel Harris-Tavita there)
2 Pompey (at least he can tackle)
3 Aitken or Montoya is Brown refuses to let Aitken out of the 2nd row
4 Arthars
5 Montoya
6 Chanel Harris-Tavita
7 Ash to give them the bash Taylor
8 The Captain
9 Egan
10 Afoa (his threat of his new offload he worked on in the off season is allowing to him gain post contact metres all of a sudden)
11 Katoa
12 Curran
13 Jazz

14 Otukulo
15 Pene
16 Lodge
17 Ben Murdoch-Masila

Kodi to be named at 18 so it looks like we value him in order that another team might offer us a player swap for him.

Tigers are a big team so we definitely need Ben Murdoch-Masila for this match.
That's an interesting team. I don't disagree. Aitken and Arthurs is the best centre combo but I think they play on the same side?

I'd start with Ben Murdoch-Masila and swap Jazz to 14. I'd like to see Ratuva and Kosi on wings eventually. Montoya is solid, but not a match-winner. However, based on who they're picking I like your side.

I remember Taylor being fast back in the day, last weeks game was like watching a turtle with a beer belly 🤣

Arthars prefers right side. Aitken has played both for the club (x2 at L Centre & x6 at R Centre) but all of his 8 games in the Second Row have been on the left
Do you know if he is left handed?

I saw that he is talking with Souths for 2023.... then I have speculated as Souths are in need of an experienced half - then they will probably push for an early release.

I saw it either on one of the fox sports nrl shows or on twitter. I've been looking for it this morning - and can't find anything either... (I'm the one that originally posted Kodi is in talks with Souths for next year). Isaako to eels immediately I see now too: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...s/news-story/a107ddf12b7d074600f788d46a274a59
