Pick Your Team 2021 Rnd 7 - Storm vs Warriors

Any new injury concerns?
Any returning players?
Any tweaks to the bench?

Some glorious memories in that photo in the OP. Would do anything for pornstache Egan to score off an Roger Tuivasa-Sheck run and wave the ball around in the air before putting it down.

Selection wise, if we lose Hiku and Pompey that probably forces Perham to come in. I would be surprised if Turner starts at centre but I would also be surprised if we give Berry a debut against the Storm. Not sure what other options we have. Might be tempted to put Sironen at centre if he's back.

Tempted to bring Walsh into the 17, maybe switch things up on gameday, but this is the 21 I would start with for the week:

1 Tuivasa-Sheck
2 Berry
3 Montoya
4 Perham (If Pompey unavailable - think he is most suitable as the medium term centre option while the others are sidelined)
5 Maumalo
6 Nikorima
7 O'Sullivan
8 Taunoa-Brown
9 Egan
10 Evans
11 Curran
12 Sironen (supposed to be back by this round)
13 Harris

14 Tevaga
15 Murdoch-Masila
16 Ah-Mau
17 Afoa

18 Turner
20 Walsh
21 Ale
22 Murchie

Hmm gotta pick the fittest and fastest players available on form, not easy with the injury toll..
I reckon the Storm will play the game at 100 mile an hour... be hard to keep up.

Same team deserves a start I reckon bar injuries. Looked at the stats of the Redcliffe game and they played well. Didn’t see it but Walsh and Katoa with tries. Looks like they were unlucky not to beat a team near the top of their table.

Would you really want to debut berry against the storm? He was awful in the trial and that's a huge occasion and some mean opposition to start off against.

Turner at center would probably also get targeted, but at least he'll have a bit of confidence after today.
Yeah I would. He’s bigger and more athletic than Turner. Which is basically all I’m leaning on.

I don’t have any confidence in Turner defending Olam or Reimis 1v1 if he gets isolated at center.

I thought the Dragons halves were extremely poor tonight at targeting Turner out wide. I also thought that Montoya was excellent at jamming set plays which reduced the pressure on Turner.

Offensively I think both Turner and Berry will be fine at centre, but I think Berry will handle the defensive pressure better.

On a side note, I wish we had some versatile second rowers that could fill in at center, maybe Sironen or Murchie could be worth a shot.

It's really inportant we don't try and match the Storms speed they play the game. We need to bring them down a level we are comfortable at
