6Again

Ken would have redeemed himself but for that hand....needs more time and a rocket about his try line D...
Agree with your post in general, can’t see too many changes that aren’t injury related.

Just curious though, do you think most other wingers score that try?

On top of getting turned inside out defensively it’s a 10-12 point turnaround there, not that it would’ve changed the result, but telling.

I agree our outside backs are not going well, but I just don't think we have any better wingers to use. The only thing I would prefer is Perham in for Montoya, but Montoya was hardly the reason we lost yesterday. I'm confused who is in the second row and who isn't, Katoa needs to be getting ball out wide, and running at centres/halves. Evans in for Addin Fonua-Blake, we need the experience. We can't be making too many changes, we're being smashed with injuries and suspensions (Addin Fonua-Blake, Chanel Harris-Tavita, Aitken, Hiku, Lawton, Jamayne Tounua-Brown, Sironen).

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
Maumalo
Montoya/Perham
Pompey
Fusitua
Niko
Osully
Afoa
Egan
LAM
Murchie
Katoa
Harris

Tevaga
Murdoch Masila
Ale
Evans

We desperately needed a spark off the bench last night which we don't have. I would play Tevaga at 14 for that reason, he has an offload, and is a bit of a live wire.

4 of the tries were just given to them on a plate - the drop ball run away, Maumalo's awful defense on the tryline, Fusitua's running past Morris instead of tackling him (WTF?) and Tedesco's push off Egan. I don't think there is a need to put a broom through, the team has a complete new coaching staff and set up, it's not going to make us a top 6 team over night. Especially with our halves and missing players.

Afoa: 170 running metres, 41 tackles 0 miss. That is super. What more do you want from a
He was listed as 13 runs for 132m. 68 of those metres came from kick returns, leaving 9 hit ups for 64m. Not bad numbers but gives it more context. My question is what do you do with Afoa when in the opposition 20? You have a guy with no pass, no step, and no late off load. I know he set up a try earlier in the season but the good defences are swallowing him up and using his slower play the ball to set their defensive line.

Surely if you suggest Evans its got to be based on performance.
Other posters watching the Redcliffe games have suggested Tom Ale is performing better.
Why the automatic assumption that Aussies are better than homegrown.

Our backline is absolute plodderville.
Perham and Berry in for Montoya and Fusitua, Move Pompey to the wing. If we had any other option on the wing then Ken could fuck right off with that feeble defense but we havnt.
Turner in for Sean O'Sullivan, Im sure Turner can kick bombs to the tallest player on the field and make a heap of misreads on defense.
But the backline will be
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
Fusitua
Montoya
Pompey
Ken
Kodi
Sean O'Sullivan
I get why people did not like the bombs to Tupou, and I am not looking for an argument for the sake of it but.....

I saw it very differently.

Most of those bombs were perfect, the objective was to avoid that ball getting to Tedesco and to start tackle one on Tupou deep in their half.

Sean O'Sullivan managed to time those bombs perfectly to allow the defenders to catch Tupou before the Roosters back three could throw it around and carve us up.

I thought that was brilliant, out of the Roosters back three, Tupou is the least likely to pass the ball to Teddy.....

Morris on the other hand.....

Also, I am so used to seeing a Warriors bomb kicked too far or not far enough.

They'll be no changes apart from Evans replacing injured Addin Fonua-Blake...
Fusitua getting a free ride because of his lofty pay packet you reckon?

If Jason Saab wasn't playing for Manly, who literally refuses to take a hit up and get his jersey dirty. Then Fusitua would be the worst performing winger in the comp, he's that far off the mark and it's not hyperbole.

Afoa looking like he'll be banned for a shoulder charge - not that I saw anything even close to a shoulder charge from him, but I guess NRL wants to protect their golden boy Walker.

Evans in for Addin Fonua-Blake, and god knows who in for Afoa. I guess Ale?
Well at least they had some brains to try and take the kid out. I was wondering why no one was applying pressure on him. Execution very poor. It fact, terrible. Murchie copped him with a good one late in the game but it was too little too late.

Just saw it, definitely no arms. He’ll be gone next week.
Yup Afoa out for a week if he pleads guilty.

Addin Fonua-Blake rated highly unlikely by the coach in the 5 day turnaround.

And pretty sure I saw Sironen in a sling at the end of the match so surely he’s got a problem that will be tough on the tight turnaround too?

so yeah Ale & Evans might both get a look in both?

bench might need a different composition too if Sironen out - can Paul Turner multi task?!?

I think Sironen was the one in a sling last week after the game, perhaps he is playing with an injury that they are managing.

Perham and Ale are playing off the bench for Parramatta in the NSW Cup on Sky Sport 4 at 330 this afternoon instead of playing for Redcliffe

Des Hasler and Manly will be excited to be playing the Warriors this weekend - Des will be telling his boys here comes our first win of the season :) - The Warriors are way off the pace this season and Teams like the Warriors, cowboys, Sea Eagles, and Broncos are all capable of beating each other - they will all struggle against the other sides

Nat Roach Hayze Perham and Tom Ale all listed on the reserve bench for Parra Eels v Wests Magpies with old mate Rusty Packer at prop on (Oz)Foxtel 502 now.

The officiating in This game is as bad as 1st grade - clear forward pass AND foot in touch, no trouble fair try
