Warriors Orange Peeler
Pick Your Team 2021 Rnd 5 - Warriors vs Manly

Manly 1

Do you want to see any changes for the Round 5 game against the Sea Eagles at Central Coast Stadium?

Promotions?
Demotions?
Any new injury concerns?
Any returning players?
Any tweaks to the bench?

Discuss...

Swanny

Afoa: 170 running metres, 41 tackles 0 miss. That is super. What more do you want from a starting prop?
Someone who can provide a dominant tackle and can also engage the defensive line. The problem with Afoa is that as soon as he catches the ball the defensive line retreats because they know he will not step or offload. Similarly on defence he is very passive. Just my opinion

Why is Katoa a lock in start every week?

We saw this with Papalii....

He’s been invisible this season and I think needs to come off the bench

Tevagna is an impact player not a starter

You can't tell me that Perham would be any worse than the 4 edge players we have out there currently.

One of them needs to be dropped as a wake up call.
Perham seemed fine defensively last year. He has not shown Xfactor at top level but I would say he is a better centre than Montoya and Montoya is a better defensive winger than Fusitua and Maumalo. Montoya just has weak hit ups but speed. I guess what I’m saying is we should probably drop one of our prop wingers for Montoya and have Hayze in at centre.

It will be entertaining when the coach names the same team.

There may be a case to drop Fusitua.

But I am certain he will get his chance against Manly.

What Brown will be wanting is to find a way to play Fusitua and Ken back into form. And a run against weak sides like Manly is the ideal time to do that.

We will not see many if any changes until Hiku and Aitken are in the mix.

Right now Brown is stuck with a rebuild team, lots of combinations to try to sort out, a need to try to get Ken and Fusitua back into the swing of it.

If He had those centres who are injured then fine, drop one of his NRL guys and bring in someone like Perham.

Mind you, Brown, unlike Kearney, gets to a point where he strips sides apart, that is why he was hired.

At some point those boys will be weeded out anyway.

Ken is a good kick returner, he had some nice hit ups tonight.

Ken would have redeemed himself but for that hand....needs more time and a rocket about his try line D...

I could see Evans coming in.

I would like to see what that looks like since we have lost Addin Fonua-Blake possibly and since we are playing two small forwards in Jazz and Siro.

I would not be looking at dropping Siro, he scored two trys in two games.

We need to get him to evenually play Jazz out of the team altogether.

Our backline is absolute plodderville.
Perham and Berry in for Montoya and Fusitua, Move Pompey to the wing. If we had any other option on the wing then Ken could fuck right off with that feeble defense but we havnt.
Turner in for Sean O'Sullivan, Im sure Turner can kick bombs to the tallest player on the field and make a heap of misreads on defense.
But the backline will be
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
Fusitua
Montoya
Pompey
Ken
Kodi
Sean O'Sullivan
Montoya went pretty well in his first game of the year against the best backline in the comp. He played like he wanted to be there. Had decent stats too. He needs to get match fit as he gassed out early
