I have been pretty clear in my own mind that this year is a rebuild, because of the new Coach and a multitude of new players, especially after the injury toll basically gutted any semblance of a campaign.
After
Walsh arrived, hearing the news about AFBs return, seeing
Aitken come back in....and some promise from the noobs like
Berry....I am rappidly shifting to making a go of it now with what we have.
Walsh and
Addin Fonua-Blake have changed the game,
Ben Murdoch-Masila too. We can look forward to winning the up front stuff the majority of the time, getting a massive boot down town, and throwing together a attacking threat that has managed to out score in one half of football, a couple of top four sides....just a shame we were already flogged by then....
Still, the ingredients are there....and most of all....seen enough of
Walsh now to know he is ready for the NRL.
He is robust enough, he is not fazed.
Brown has enough there to be getting on with it and targeting an appearance in the finals, as you say one game at a time.
They can make our open side fast by using
Kodi,
Aitken,
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck......that is not too shabby with
Walsh.
But yeah, I think it is time to flick the switch, yesterday we showed enough to suggest that this year every player seems to care about winning and not letting themselves get disgraced...we have a pretty nice team if the Coach can unlock the guys and sort our our defence.
Our fitness is fantastic, yesterday we made over three hundred tackles and still mounted a come back. Props to the trainers and players they have really done a job this year. We tend to start fast...lately it is our bumbling that has stopped that happening. We also finish games still trying, off the back of some decent endurance.
