That's a big problem. I for one, would front load his contract 50% for next year and offload him before 2020End of next year.
I think he is... Has a neck injury
FrickSounds like Hiku is on the wing against the Storm....
'It's nothing new, I've been there before' - Hiku
Mon 22 Apr 2019, 02:01 PM
Peta Hiku is set to fill the Warriors' vacant right wing spot for the Anzac Day game against Melbourne, while halfback Blake Green is tracking well to make his return from a groin injury.
First-choice winger David Fusitua has been ruled out of the annual fixture with a rib injury suffered in the second half of last Saturday's 17-10 loss to the North Queensland Cowboys.
Hiku was on the right wing for Monday's field session in Auckland and is in line to play his third position in seven games this season, having started the year at left centre before playing rounds five and six at five-eighth.
The Kiwi international welcomed the move back to more familiar territory in the back five.
"It's good to see one of our main spine boys [Green] making his way back. Until he's back in the side I'll be cheering [his recovery on]," Hiku said.
"Playing in the halves is something different … it's a bit trickier than in the outside backs.
"[The wing] is nothing new again, I've been there before, it's just something else I have to get used to and get my head around.
"I'm talking to Ken [Maumalo] all the time … you sort of know what to do as a winger."
Green was close to taking the field against the Cowboys and on Monday appeared unhindered as he took part in running and kicking drills away from the main squad.
Coach Stephen Kearney indicated the experienced playmaker's return was imminent.
"We will give him every opportunity to be right. He worked pretty hard last week and got himself pretty close," Kearney said.
"I anticipate if it's not this week then definitely next week."
Despite suffering back-to-back losses in the last fortnight, Kearney said there were positive signs for his side if they can improve their execution on the ball.
The Warriors completed less than 70% of their sets in both of those losses, making a combined 23 errors, and came up with only 10 points against North Queensland despite making five line breaks.
"We've got ourselves in positions in those two matches where we were capable of going on and getting the result, but we just haven't managed it quite well enough," Kearney said.
"I thought our defence for the most part the other night was pretty good … for the most part the boys have been doing a really good job, but we are just lacking probably a little polish in attack."
Hooker Nathaniel Roache said the key to fixing those problems started with the players putting more trust in rookie half Chanel Harris-Tavita.
"A few times in that [Cowboys] game, especially in the second half when I was on, we got a bit frantic and it was like we were chasing points," Roache said.
"We rushed things instead of sticking to the game plan, so this week we will try and slow it down, trust our halves, trust young Chanel that he knows what he's doing."
Don’t forget about his broken arse too!!Neck, eye, quad the guy is a walking cripple. Amazing effort to get on the field every week.
#fakenews
Is that news? Mr, Brownstone predicted that last October. The only question is the spoon.I heard Justin Morgan on the radio today also say the Warriors season is done,
Be fair, who has he to replace Blair, especially against the Storm. Keep him but drop him the first opportunity after that.you will not last your 3 year contract dude if you keep persisting with some of these average selections !
Luke was a key difference on Saturday. He is worth having for half a game.1 Roger Tuivasa-Sheck

I have had a long hard think and I want the following players dropped
1) Blair. He was brought here as a prop. Then he said he didn't want to be a prop because he didn't like the hard contact associated with hitting the ball up. He wanted to coast around and pick his spots as a back rower. He should have been dropped immediately for making that suggestion. He hasn't really show good enough passing skills to be a back rower anyway. E.g .butchering a try last night. His performance last night was ridiculously bad.
2) Hiku. He is in some sort of negative head space where everything he touches turns to lead not gold. Two errors last night that were stupid.
The defining moment of this was last season against the panthers where he started walking instead of running back after a player who made a line break. This was the game which led to him being dropped. If he had've kept running he would have caught the line breaker who slowed up. And again last night after a chip kick the ball bounced near the goal line and bounced through his hands and a try went missing. His reactions weren't fast enough because his mind isn't clear. It is full of negative thoughts I speculate. The main reason I have such a detailed theory is I remember being in a negative cycle after my divorce. I see the same thing in him. He isn't thinking straight. He is not necessarily a "loser" but he is thinking and behaving like one and we need to distance ourselves from him until he gets in a better space. I would trade him for anything I can get as he needs a change of scenery and a sports psychologist. I am not taking shots at him or being sarcastic. Both the ABs and the blackcaps have a permanent psychologist as part of the team environment so it is just a new best in class practice. Without that help Hiku will always foul up.
3) Kata. I have been defending him or at least pointing out the other side of the coin in discussions about him. I simply don't agree that he is bad defender, because he usually ranks well on defence in the entire league when you study the stats after a decent number of games. I think we just underestimate how hard playing centre is from a defensive perspective. He is an above average defender. What bothers me is two plays this season. In a critical moment on tackle 1 in game 2 of the season 5 metres out from the line he tries a dummy half scoot and knocks it on because he is not gifted with good hands. This was the first tackle of our first chance to raid in the red zone in the game. It was an inexcusable decision and he should have received corrective coaching after the game. Instead he did something stupider last night with a 20 metre dummy half scoot which spoiled a near certain try.
Now maybe it isn't his fault he didn't learn after the first time in Game 2. Maybe Kearney doesn't believe in being "mean" to the players and informing them when they have done something wrong. Maybe this is on Kearney for running a laissez faire regime where each player gets to express themselves with no corrective coaching. Either way he has to go as those plays are destroying our chances of winning and it he isn't going to change.
4) Luke. At least temporarily. Just send him off with the personal trainer for a month and come back then. In the mean time I think Jazz is a capable hooker cover - just don't play him at 13.
We signed him for 3 years. There were also murmurs around the time that he wanted 4 years. Not sure if that eventuated and either he or the club has that option. If he has the option we got fucked in the ass more than we realise. That's a big problem. I for one, would front load his contract 50% for next year and offload him before 2020
TAB are paying $2.80 on that. I bet you won't take it.Melbourne to win by less than 13
I disagree. Drop him to ISP and leave him there. He will find somewhere else by himself and save salary space for somebody worth it.That's a big problem. I for one, would front load his contract 50% for next year and offload him before 2020
