you have Kata named as 3 and Hiku as 4.

they were named the other way round.

Its not about where they play its what number they were named at.

1. All players must be named 1-17 in exactly the order they play on Saturday (16/03/19). If a player is named #18 in the #4 spot they will be considered as #4. Order is more important than number.

To me that means position over number matters....

I can see your point, but Kata for example was named as 4 and played at 4. There is no rule in the NRL that says 4 must be left centre

Leave that to you mt.wellington to adjudicate.

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_league_positions 11 plays on the right, but the official laws of the game has no distinction between 11 and 12, they're both just "second row forwards", unlike centres where 4 is specifically referred to as left centre. Interestingly there is a difference in position names between 8 and 10, so if we're being extra pedantic we'd need to know which side of the scrum our starting props packed down on.
