So far this is our best pack:

8.Gavet
10.Blair
11.Pulu
12.Harris
13.Simon

14.Tevaga
15.Lisone
16.Paasi
17.Bunty

That's a massive bench. Felt like we were a bit light weight yesterday with Simon and Tevaga on at the same time .

Yeah thats what i thought as well. We couldnt carry that momentum into the 2nd half, just dont think at that stage we were getting much dominance.

I like that pack and bench you've named tho. That looks just about the perfect balance.

Pretty big compliment to Kearney and the team that premiership winning highly successful guys like Harris and Blair are playing some of thier best footy here. Guys like Pulu and Paasi have gone up another level and our young core of Bunty, Lisone Ken etc are finally reaching thier potential. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck finally has a troop of worthy comrades to follow his command and example. So much for the club where careers come to die

Yea I also don't see the need to carry Geiling on the bench. Tohu Harris, Pulu and Simon can all fill in the centers if needed.

Not gonna happen bro

Big Ken has improved immensely & had his best game to date in a Warriors jersey last night IMO

Ken's starts to our sets are also right up there ATM with the best in the comp as well

Yep those quick play the balls were gold. Kata setting him up gave him some confidence me thinks hopefully he can keep doing it

Want a laugh ?
Go read the Broncos HQ thread for this game.

My favorite quote:

" Won't somebody think of the children?!!"

Just checked in on their site now.
My goodness those fans are suicidal.

Who would have thought that the prospect of playing the Warriors would have sent them into such a spiral.

I think we should all chip in and get them a gift basket, maybe some artisanal toffees to cheer them up.
Those poor bastards. The stable is burning to the ground with a horses still inside.

I've been a Gavet fanboy but he doesn't have the leg speed Paasi and Afoa bring to the pack. Unlucky he got injured but I really think Simon's got his spot, Simon did play the props role nicely.
Gavet is a great starter. He gets into it hurts forwards and leaves them on the ground - not the best metres but he softens opposition's up.
Simons defensively oriented being an ex centre who moved to the back row.
Simon should play second row.

Right side of the field = ball playing
Left side of the field = power game

8.Gavet- softens opposition's
10. Paasi - Has a strong carry good metres
11. Simon - defensive rock , runs lines
12. Tohu Harris - probably our best player
13. Blair - Line speed , aggression , defensive rock , ball playing skills.

14. Tevaga - Mobile , big minutes , back up 9 , great 3rd man in
15.Pulu - covers the whole forward pack - great player great attitude - good work rate.
16. Afoa - Bench impact , great metres , leg drive insane
17. Lisone - Fast and hard hitting - bench impact , ball playing ability. Has nice agro too.

Yep, imo this is our best lineup at the moment.

Same team... As much as I rate Simon and his contributions to the team, I feel he needs to do more to replace Pulu.

He's been fantastic for us, firstly of the bench then starting on that left edge and honestly this team isn't like our past teams where Simon Had to be in the team or else everything would fall apart.

Without getting hung out to dry and it is only just my opinion but i'm still not convinced of either Kata/Maumalo - yes, Kata has improved since last year but i still not convinced on him - although i nearly fell off my seat when he passed to Maumalo on the weekend. The good thing though is this year if they do slip on their standards there is a guy to take his place, the competition for spots is fantastic, keeps that pressure on them to perform. If i had to keep one it would be the big winner - mainly for the metres he makes although still not that convinced on the defence. Anyways i look to be proven wrong and can't wait for the Warriors to play the Dragons - going to be a cracker of a game - could get nasty for the Broncos on the weekend. ;);)

Kata is starting to realise his role has changed. He used to be the one to set up attcks on that left side. Now he has Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Pulu doing that set up stuff. Making Kata's role more of a link man. He is settling into that role well IMO.

As for Maumalo even last year when outside Ayshford he gained confidence and played well both sides of the ball. It was when Kata came back in that the big green lizards of indecision and loss of confidence got in his head.

That was the big worry for us this year as has been endlessly stated. However 'the process' seems to working on Kata.

Completely agree. I've given Ken a lot of grief before, even nick naming him Mudmalo.
But man, he has improved so much and is playing very well. If he keeps it up, he could over take Manu.

Mannering back to lock FOR SURE !!
Blair to prop with Passi or Bunty back to the bench
in saying that Blair didnt have his best game but no way he is going to be on the bench
Gelling is wasted on the bench, what is the point someone coming on with 2 minutes to go
Go with Sao for his offloads or gavet if he is fit, or satae.

Is there any real difference between a prop and a lock any more? Most teams seem to play their best prop at lock now.
I think Blair will stay at 13 with Mannering coming off the bench. If there’s one of them on the feild they will be lock if both of them are on they will both be hybrid locks/props.
Interestingly Mannering on the bench is virtually a utility player these days. Able to cover prop, second row, lock and centre at a pinch.

so whats happening at ISP level then, why isnt it transfering downward?
