Nothing much changes.

- Shaun Johnson may get rested again due to being 4/4, but Kearney said he was close anyway. Lino played his roll well(admittedly made easier by the fact he didn't have to play off the back foot).
- Extent of Gavet's hammy that he cooked at captains run?? We appear to have ample cover anyway. Paasi, Afoa, Lisone, Sao and Pulu could easily aswell.
- Mannering fit?? Potentially ease him back in with a half of footy given how good the bench is going.
- Kearney said Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is fine. But he would likely put Hiku back there like he has for Kiwis and put Gelling at centre??
- If Lisone, Gavet and Mannering are fit. I'm really interested to see who unluckily misses out, as everyone has done extremely well.

It's hard to get a gauge who goes where and who comes off the bench in the forwards. Because Kearney is using his bench well by bringing someone on and just shuffling a longer minute player to accomodate. Really liking how hes using the bench this year.

More than anything given what Kearney is going through with his wife, im happy all his hard work with the team will hopefully bring him some joy with how the teams going.

I really loved the double edge threat of Harris on one side Pulu on the other. They we're so threatning and asking questions both sides of the field must stretch defences.

With Blair locking in the middle im loathe to change that so much to the point Mannering can come off the bench (taking Sao or Tevaga's place).....we've got to get used to life without juju sooner rather than later id imagine, this is one way of transitioning it in.

If Shaun Johnson's fit he plays, even the slightest twinge tho rest him....Lino to cover. Same for Gavet and Satae.

Beale to replace Ken if fit?
No way. I cant see Beale getting a look in unless there is an injury in the backline or someone loses form. Maumalo is making massive metres out of our end and his defensive combination with Kata is a lot better than it has been in previous seasons. The only players I see getting back in the side straight away are Mannering, Johnson, Gavet and Lisone.

For this weekend I would go with
1.Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
2.Fusitua
3.Hiku
4.Kata
5.Maumalo
6.Green
7.Johnson
8.Gavet
9.Luke
10. Blair
11. Pulu
12.Harris
13.Mannering

14. Tevaga
15. Afoa
16. Lisone
17. Sao

Assuming Johnson, Mannering and Gavet are all good to go, otherwise, keep it to the 17 who played last night.

In my opinion alot of wingers can make metres, big or small. Put in Beale or Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad they can give you 100m. They will also make dummy half runs.

Beale was selected for the Kiwis, won a premiership albeit off the bench. Played for the Broncos and part of some good systems.

Whereas Ken was very poor in the WC and I do feel he doesn't offer alot in attack, more often than not he does not contest the high ball.

I do agree Ken has been playing well. But we need to strive for more. Not alot was thrown at him yesterday in defense. Kata played really well on D.

Beale came here to play first grade, Ken is off contract this yr, and we have Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, Gelling, JTS and a few young kids.

Thurston really looks like a man in his final year. I watched him against the Panthers and he looks a shadow of his former self. Still trying just as hard, kick chases and all that, but his running game and precision looks off. That's not to say that he won't come to Auckland and produce a masterclass, but that Cowboys side looks worse at the start of this year than they did end of last year.

Will be an interesting game, double header and we're 4 from 4, this should be a sell out or close to. Warriors of old would lose this...hype, big crowd and expectation would usually spell disaster. Let's see how this lot handle it.

Rough on Ligi Sao as he's done nothing wrong but can't disagree.
He’s been good but it’s getting tough to include everyone. Can’t remember a season in recent memory that we’ve had this much quality forward depth. I havent even named Papalii, Satae and Vete who are genuine first grade quality. Pat Sipley will join the competition for spots also once he becomes able to play longer minutes.

Recon Mannering Papalii Gavet and Johnson should have a run in the ISP to give them a recovery / tester then slot straight back in.

Team doesn't need any of them brought in too soon....theyre too valuable and our fringe guys fully fit are too good to be replaced by anyone short of a gallop or with question marks over them.

Selector

McLean out for the Cowboys against the Warriors. I expect Beale to take the utiltiy spot on the bench once fit.

If SK is set on his backline going forward, I wonder if we might see Beale at no.13 especially against the smaller packs.

He played lock all through the U20 and early on in his career. I remember him playing at 13 for the junior kangaroos against the junior kiwis. His defence is strong enough to play there.

Definitely supports the idea of playing him as a utility off the bench at least. Very versatile player.

Interesting, I didn’t know that.
I struggle to see him starting at 13, we have lots of depth at that position but definitely worth considering him on the bench.

The Cowboys lined up like that for Round 4. I hope we don't look at their 1 win and 3 loss record and get cocky. Any team with Thurston in it makes me worried even if father time is catching up with him.

This could be a very difficult match.
