To be fair , with a few first choice players out we weren't to far off the mark.
I hope Luke and green are fine, with them back we should be fine.

Would prefer to see Hiku in for Kata but it ain't gonna happen on Kearneys watch - as i've said before i just think that his greedy play is gonna cost us big time and probably against the Storm it possibly did as if he passed to Maumalo instead of going for glory it could hve shifted the momentum to the Warriors. His defence was average too - didn't chambers run through him and his defence of Vinivalu was quite poor when the big winger scored. Looking forward to Pulu/Harris coming back in - not sure on Gavet, he annoys me with his hair falling out and then standing in the back line trying to tie it back up - just get the corn rows done!

They need to trust Lino with the ball this week. They hardly used him on offence. He looked good paired with Green, Shaun Johnson needs to work with him like a partner.
If we aren't going to trust Lino to run the cutter then play Lawton at 6 instead and firm up from a defensive perspective.

Without Green though I don't see my desired 50 point victory margin happening. Now be satisfied with a closely fought win.

Funny the difference a couple of weeks can make. After the Panthers game many were saying Hiku should be out of first grade for the rest of the season. Now I'm seeing plenty of calls for him to come back in place of Kata.

It was hugely frustrating to see Kata promote the ball (more so than not passing to Maumalo), but I don't think he should be singled out for the Vunivalu try. Because you're allowed to tackle the attacking player in the air Maumalo should never have been contesting the ball. He should only have been thinking of bundling Vunivalu into touch. Kata had to stay in position just in case Vunivalu tapped the ball back.

I also think it would be a waste having Hiku on the bench to come on in the last 10 mins replacing a back. Would much prefer proper cover for Luke and for Jazz to stick with his lock forward tacklebot role that he has been most effective with. Until Harris and Pulu are match fit and also not to overwork Luke leading into September (yes we are not firmly in the top 8 yet) I'd be happy enough with a bench of Tevaga, Satae, Afoa and Lawton for this round. Doesn't have much size to it but at least they are options that can actually be used properly.

We simply must beat the Titans/ Knights/and Bulldogs to secure our top eight spot. We need our best team in the field for these three matches and I would be tempted to play guys who have a niggle.

Going into the Melbourne match today it wasn't really a loss I was really fearing it was injuries. So if Luke pulls up ok then I will be happy.

People need to move on from the fact jazz played dummy half.
He was there due to injury.
He plays the role of super sub which I guess is a lot more common these days where teams can afford this type of role when they have an 80 min hooker.
Similar role to peachy for the blues, or what Queensland has done for years. Brandon smith for the storm has been playing this role well for the last month or so. If Luke is healthy and plays the full 80, jazz can play his normal role

Thought it was a mile late and just dumb considering the recent attention on late hits from the blind. Put his team under unnecessary pressure in a crucial time of the match.

I think we'll be close to full strength tbis week or next, which is great for the run in, be interesting to see how Pulu comes into the mix and how that affects the make up of the team

The Kata vs Hiku debate is a weird one, I feel they both offer alot on attack but leave alot to be desired on D, for that reason i feel Kata wins, he's had less shockers than Hiku to be honest

On the flipside of this, i had a theory for a long time that Shaun Johnson was a terrible conversion kicker if his hair was messy. It seems he cant focus if he isnt looking his best for the camera.
