Pick Your Team 2018 Rnd 19 - Warriors vs Storm

Storm 2

After the Round 18 game against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium do you want to see any changes for the Round 19 game against the Melbourne Storm at Mt Smart Stadium?

Promotions?
Demotions?
Any new injury concerns?
Any returning players?
Any tweaks to the bench?

Discuss...

The quietness of the 'Process' has cursed this thread...

Same team. I actually thought the bench in the end was well thought out. Two are mannering sized, 1 a back but could be a forward and the other a forward, then my new fav player Tevaga. Hmmm just who to replace Satae with due to his impending suspension for the broncos hooker being a pussy, i bet he wouldnt thrown those punches if Satae wasnt all tied up. Would be too funny if Mcullough gets off for throwing punches yet Satae with an unintentional forearm to the throat gets 3 weeks. sigh.

Pretty dead in here.

Kearney has been brilliant for the Warriors, every time they have got the shits he has got them back for the following week.

i don't care about the big losses, I've accepted this side cruises every other week

That brittle personality of theirs is fed by the absence of a key forward here and there. They will come right when their most experienced forward pack is at full strength.

The way the Warriors adapted their game plan, to play the edges, well and truly caught Bennett off guard.

Kearney owes Bellamy one this week, the only question is whether the players can snap out of their second week loss syndrome and play this one like a title fight.

The Reffs role in this will decide it.

The Warriors look surprisingly good with a fair Ref (this weeks win)...hello ' o

I'd be looking to play the same team with Ken Maumalo coming off the bench in the fashion they have used other backs on the odd occasion.

Hiku looked excellent yesterday as did Beale...neither are going to provide impact off a bench....

Not going to happen though....Beale will probably sit on the bench which is a wasted spot imo.

Yes I agree, possibly Peta "Peter" best game yesterday. Beale was pretty much his usual, ususually safe self on defense, aside from making a good call to come out early but missed the tackle. Hes definitely a worthy assett Beale and If we arent going to use him, sell him. But we definitely need at least one good to very good centre. Id pick Mitchell but hes taken. Is there somewhere you can see whose coming off contract etc?

I think noticably our gang tackling was supurb. Unlike the week before with Hiku arm grab tackles by all, we came in 2s and 3s and sometimes even fivers, and everybody got off in a timely fashion, i think that helped with the reffing. Nobody pushed the ref with the 10m which was good. Kearney actually had the warriors D look like a top 4 defensive team this week. And they did well on that last try to all try and get a hand under it which imo they did and i have no idea how the ref was convinced it hit the turf, seriously, not humanly possible.

I disagree that the returning players will fix the pack. It is an attitude thing and that kind of thinking will get us in the shit. We have had key players out all year and at times have played like we ain't missing anyone and that is how it should be. Anyway notice a difference in the Storm now without Cronk? I don't!

The big losses really bug me because I feel whatever we achieve this year will be tarnished with those memories. I think we there will be a lot of desire to beat Melbourne and I think they will. However like it happened after the Dragons win I think we will be flat and disappointing the following week.

Indeed - be interesting to see the team sheet tomorrow. Hoping for as few changes as possible following our win.

Mobbing in the tackle was key for sure. Mitigate the offloads and we look far more structured. I thought Vuna made a good contribution to stay on the bench for this week.

Hiku had a great game to his and Kearnys credit. The thing with Hiku vs Beale are the run metres. He is makes more meters at the line IMO. For shits and giggles i'd love to leave Hiku out on the wing and bring Big Ken into the centres... I vote more ball for the big guy. Close to the line he would be unstoppable and lets face it powerkeg Qatar can not pass left. Maumalo and Fuss what a scary ass combo that would be... a la Leilua and Rapana!

If the NRL is consistent with other forearm suspensions this year he will get 2 weeks, although his record is clean unlike Burgess, Lisone, Chambers
Thanks for that ever hopeful. When do they announce the suspensions usually. Will we find out today?

i hate the use of the bench, thats about the only negative to kearney this year. if maumalo isnt 100% then no point rushing him back. with the inconsistency that our forwards are playing at over the last month i think its best to pack big boys on the bench rather than tevaga and a back.
