Oh gee, who could have possibly foreseen that moronic test halfway across the world would be detrimental to the only New Zealand team in the comp. In isolation the test is catastrophic - because the club smartly put their foot down. But combined with injuries - which happen to every club, every season and our roster is beyond crippled. The NRL have further exasperated the problem with their limit on squads and teams named.

What a fucking joke. Another 30-0 home game incoming most likely - this time because we're forced to name what amounts to our NSW Cup squad + a few others.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - League administrators across the board are some of the most incompetent people in the sporting world. But it's fine - I'm sure they will resolve it next year, ignorant of the chaos their poor planning has cause ... again.

I think it would absolute madness to play any of the Kiwis boys. With their plane delayed they would only get the captains run on Thursday and the warm up pregame Friday to train for the game. Im sure the training staff and high performance coach is worried sick right about now.

This is our team without the Kiwis and the possible continued injuries to David Fusitua and Solomone Kata.

Really that only leaves one outside back spot to fill and the best candidate from the rest to play bench utility/hooker sub. Outside back spot can be filled by either Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad or Blake Ayshford who both are yet to be named in the top 30.

Utility bench is much harder with Jazz Tevaga still injured. I'd look at either Blake Ayshford, Sam Cook or James Bell to fill the spot.

And all this talk about players not being able to back up is just silly. Maybe they won't be as fresh as they'd like to be, but come on. Get up and go hard for the club, for the boys, for the fans.

These games are either super close, or our coach gets sacked at the end of it. And SK isn't going nowhere, so I'm picking a tight one this weekend.

20 hours of sitting on their arses. No training runs, ice baths, physio, massage, taping, tactic talks, video sessions, set piece practice... No worries though cause you do it all the time playing top flight professional sports by taking a pill.

Great post. As others have said Hiku is out as he played for the Kiwis.

My back line if no one can back up is

2) CNK
3) Beale
4) Ayshford
5) Gelling

Those blokes will be acceptable (just no chemistry whatsoever)

We could conceivably get no tries out of that back line. But they would defend crazy well.

Just better hope Johnson carves up. And Green puts a bunch of wing forwards into gaps near the try line.

I've only seen CNK and Gelling defend crazy in first grade, not very well. Love to see what they bring on attack though.

We hardly play with our full compliment and we are in an unlikely position on the table.

This week we have key players in.

The ones who make the others look and play better.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. Shaun Johnson. Green. Tohu Harris.

We just need some forward pack commitment and application to unlock the chains on our mixed lollies backline.

Sharks are solid and rep squad laden so stopping them will be no easy feat.

But I've got my believing hat on even if it looks nothing like my logical hat. Remember I backed Q L D?

20 points up for grabs including Sharks game.

Realistically I can see us collecting 14 points out of that 20 (losses to Storm, Dragons, Panthers)

Could see Woods play and they rest Prior from Origin. Graham is also out for 3 weeks, due to surgery on cheek bone I think.
