Any new injury concerns?

Any tweaks to the bench?

Gonna be hard for SK to pick his back line next game.

Other than Fusitua, nobody is really standing out as being amazing. But nobody is really dropping nuts either.

He can pick the guys who he thinks are best for the next opposition, which is the ultimate situation for any coach.

I would like to see Hiku have one weeks holiday for his defending and show off plays....those flick passes keep getting turned over when a conventional pass would be perfectly adequate...the flick pass is forced because Peta over commits to the defender...when really with players like Fusitua in your side early ball is the answer.
Beale missed an opportunity on occasion for the same reason...but then not having Shaun Johnson there makes all the difference...Lino starts the clunkyness by overrunning himself...and that is worsened by not having Roger Tuivasa-Sheck coming into the set plays.

Kata does not deserve to be dropped. But I suspect he will be of the three Centers based on long service and reputations.

We start losing when Jazz and Mannering come on...the other sides win the go forward with interest...big problem that..one of them has to go and it shouldnt be Mannering.

Tonight just further proves we are nothing without Luke...he is the the most important player in the team bar no one. Pray he is fit.
Paasi continues to be the man...amazing he wasnt on SKs radar when he came here.

I don't like criticizing SK because he is the answer with this lot...we keep bouncing back and have more grit under his reign and frankly the best run of a season since Anderson...but...I wish he would bring back Sao and I hope he sees Lawtons passing is better than Jazz.

Paasis kick was good .Beale's tackle that popped the ball out .
Simon getting a foot to the ball an chasing it down. There was
Some good little bits Fusitua flying ..

I think Roger Tuivasa-Sheck back is a given .
Personally I'd have Beale at center .
But I don't think SK will drop Hiku .That side is used alot in attack.
And is good . Kata an Ken seem to do more hit ups So its tricky to pick
If Shaun Johnson is out could we get Hiku 6 ? Roll on Tuesday

I'd straight up put Beale in for Kata and see what happens on that left edge.

With a good ball playing center on the right we've been looking very good on attack all year. Defense has been ugly but ultimately good enough to get us into the top 4.

So I'd like to see Beale get a run on the left edge to see if he can create the same kind of threat that we have on the right. Him and Mannering running structured plays down that left edge, with Green and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck working their magic, could be exactly what we're looking for to make us genuine title contenders.

No offence to Kata, but he's fast becoming a tacklebot with a good strong hit up.

If either is going to become a bench utility / impact player / super sub, it's 99.99% not going to be Beale... If I understand Kearney at all I can be pretty sure of that.

Beale is in for me so its Hiku vs Kata, I went Hiku.
Hiku can be poor on D with his arm grabs but scrambles well, Kata shoots out too much but is a better one on one defender. All in all Kata is better for our defence. But we are having trouble scoring points, yeah we got 24 last night but shoulda got a lot more, we have a couple of donuts an for/against is close. Hiku is elusive, he can make something out of nothing and is OK feeding his outsides (better than Kata anyway). So picking him for his x-factor.
Although havent forgiven his lets see if I can burn this guy on the outside move last night near the touchline at a crucial time in the game - that was stupid and could lost us that game to a decent team.

I think that Kata has been our most consistent centre, has been much, much improved on d and his workload out of yardage has been really impressive. His combo with Ken and the subsequent rise in Ken's performance and consistency means I wouldn't be changing that pairing anytime soon.
We are 8 wins from 11 games with that pairing and 4 from 5 on the road.
Don't fix what ain't broke.

The Hiku vs Beale question has far more merit.
However, even then while his defence has been questionable, that is undoubted, Hiku has added an enormous amount of attacking x-factor to that right edge which has the top tryscorer in the NRL on the end of it.
We are 8 from 11 with Hiku in the team and that can't be understated.

I simply don't see how either gets dropped for a guy who is not demonstrably better overall and has played 1 nrl game this season.

Beale is good, but is he that much better overall to have the centres from a top 3 team dropped for him?

It isn't as cut and dried as many think

Fair call re Kata - he has improved but still think he is prone to rushing up out of the line and his passing could still do with some more working on. True, we are 8 from 11 with the incumbents - i just like the look of Beale - yes he has only played one game back but thought he actually went alright considering how long he has been out. I would have Beale and probably Kata - not a big fan of Hiku but like Lisone seems to be on Kearneys weekly team sheet - its a nice debate to have though, i actually thought the beginning of the year Maumalo would be gone from first grade by now and have been a big critic of him in the past but he has been good this year. :cigar::cigar::cigar::cigar:
