I would keep Lawton on the bench and bring him on in bursts for quick runs through a tiring defence and start with Jazz, in saying that I like Jazz in tackle bot mode in the middle so I’m kinda stuck.

How many minutes can Jazz do can he move to the middle when Lawton runs at dummy half?

After such a long lay off Beale should make his way back through ISP. Hiku is performing well on attack setting up Fusitua, but there is serious issues with his front on defensive technique.

Agreed.

Everyone and their mum knows Hiku is not a great defender.

However, he has made our right edge one of the most effective weapons in the entire comp.

We are 7-2 with Hiku at centre... I would not be dropping him.

5. Beale/Hiku
6. Green
7. Lino
8. Afoa
9 Luke (obviously if fit)
10. Paasi
11 Papalii
12 Harris
13 Blair (if fit)

14 Lawton
15 Mannering
16 Gavet
17 Maumalo

Maumalo has done nothing wrong and has been going well on the wing but i like the idea of a big body coming on when the other forwards are tiring and eating up those metres and also for his defence which he has improved on - would like to see how he goes in the forwards. I think with Beale he will possibly come back into the team, he wasn't bought to play ISP and Kearney will continue to pick Hiku.

this team has enormously outperformed predictions, it has won as many games in 9 weeks as we did in 26 last year

It is gonna take quite a bit to drop guys who have been making solid contributions to the wins.

Hiku, Kata, Maumalo etc won't be dropped until they either drop off a cliff in form or there is an injury.

This is the most consistent performing wing and centre combination we have had for years, I wouldnt be changing it. When Kata was out they didnt look as good and dropping any of this combo will probably have that effect.
I agree.
And the same goes for Hiku and Fusitua on the other side.
While Beale may well eventually force himself into the team (or via injury) I doubt he’ll come straight into the team given the way they are preforming.

Fair call but would hve been interesting if beale had of been fit and playing and not gelling how it would hve been, i know its all hearsay but keen to see beale hve a run sometime guess to c how he go's, just like with lawton before he played. Just not 100% convinced on kata yet but happy to b proven wrong, has def improved since last year.

I have a feeling the centre and wing have never really been the problem, sure they have had their fair share of missed tackles but so has everyone else in the team. Maybe its been the forwards and halves inside them. When they drop off one on one tackles or over commit helping players inside, and dont maintain their spacing, it puts all the pressure on the centre to read 3 on 2s (sometimes even worse), thats a 50/50 call with the best case scenario being the wing is 1 on 1 and the worst the wing is 2 or 3 on 1.

Green deserves a lot of credit, he can tackle, and he seems to set the tempo for the defence on his edge which is probably why he gets pinged so much.

4 Hiku

6 Blake
7 Lino (unless Princess is 100%)

9 Luke (if fit Lawton if not)
10 Paasi

14 Lawton (if Luke fit, Sam Cook if not, can assist in halves if Lawton is going well and Lino struggling)
15 Lisone
16 Mannering (if Blair fit, Vuna if not)
17 Gavet

18 Jazz

Tough to build a team with so many question marks over 3 pivotal roles.

Last played against Samoa 28th October and has done light training all through preseason. No way he comes straight into the NRL team...

Not when the teams going as well as it is and I think Hiku and Kata are performing well. No player is bigger than the team, he earns his spot like anyone else.

Nah.....I'm thankful we have Beale in our squad but he at least needs to get some match fitness in ISP. Our current centres and wings are all good
