Pick Your Team 2016 Rnd 6 - Warriors vs Manly

NRLRd13WarriorsvSeaEaglesJgH0P9We2Qax

After the Round 5 game against the Sydney Roosters at Central Coast Stadium do you want to see any changes for the game against the Manly-Warringah Dragons at Mt Smart Stadium?

Promotions?
Demotions?
Any new injury concerns?
Any returning players?
Any tweaks to the bench?

Hard to say as we still dont know if in fact Thomas Leuluai, Ligi Sao or Bodene Thompson will be available. Assuming they all are this would be my preferred line up.

Warriors
1 Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
2 Tuimoala Lolohea
3 Blake Ayshford
4 Solomone Kata
5 Manu Vatuvei
6 Shaun Johnson
7 Jeff Robson
8 Jacob Lillyman
9 Issac Luke
10 Ben Matulino
11 Bodene Thompson
12 Ryan Hoffman(c)
13 Simon Mannering

14 Thomas Leuluai
15 Sam Lisone
16 Charlie Gubb
17 Albert Vete

Jazz Tevaga drops off the bench for Thomas Leuluai. Our backrow is restored with Albert Vete back to the bench with Konrad Hurrell playing NSW Cup. Would love to see Tommy jump straight in at halfback but he'll be underdone. Best to have him getting match fitness off the bench subbing Isaac Luke. Robson lives to play another day sadly. Ligi Sao will need at least a couple of games NSW Cup to get up to speed...

Picking Manu will struggle to back up if it's a hamstring issue.

I guess that would put Hurrell to wing. Not sure how to feel about that, but we're low on options unless we get the return of Wright.

Also, the poll is missing the option of "Captain/Coach"

1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
2. LOLOHEA
3. ASHYFORD
4. KATA
5. VATUVEI/ FUSITUA
6. JOHNSON
7. LEULUAI
8. LILLYMAN
9. LUKE
10. MATULINO
11. THOMPSON
12. HOFFMAN (C)
13. MANNERING

14. SAO
15. LISONE
16. GUBB
17. HURRELL
18. VETE/ TEVEGA

Really like that side but I would have Konrad on the wing robson not there at all lolohea in the halfs with Tomas as cover its a good chance to see if lolohea can do ok there or he will be stuck on the wing for the rest of the year

#7 A broken turnstyle - be better than the old turnstyle we currently have there

I kind of want Hurrel to stay in the team. He could be our lucky player as we have won the last two with him on the bench. Win against Many and we will be in the 8. Huge

Why don't we test this out. At the moment with the present team makeup I believe there is a way to get Tui into the halves in game.

Hurrell is on the bench. Hook Robson, Hurrell to Centre and Ayshford to the Wing, Tui to the Halves. It gets a double whammy with Konrad's strength out wide, also it is on his right side. He will get the opponents' attention. Meanwhile Tui has good experience in FG Halves.

Forward rotation has to have priority, but in situations like free interchange an opportunity exists IMO.

Same team as todays win, the only thing i would do is put Kata no pass on the wing, bring in KH to the centres, and have Manu off the bench.

Keep Robo where he is, he is starting to click with Shaun Johnson, give Tommy more time to get match fit, and even then, I just swap him for Jazz, I still wouldn't take Robbo out from 7.

Be patient my little Warrior peeps, I saw parts of Robbo's game today that really impressed me. Watch this space, he wants to be there.

With Luke playing 80 minutes against the Roosters I'm wondering if Tommy will play reserve grade to guarantee him adequate game time, play him in the halves and see how he goes, he's been out of the game for a long time and I'm sure he'll only benefit from the run. As bad as Robson's been we may have to endure another week yet.

I'd spell Tevega for a game or two, bring in Leulaui if he's available.

Wright/Allwood for Vatuvei if he's out, Hurrell for Kata if he's suspended. Otherwise bench.

Because i will never pick a team with Robson in it.....same line up except whoever is the next in line from Fusitua or Allwood comes onto the wing for Tui who goes to 7. Robson goes home.

I agree that Tommy should play at least one game in NSW to test his game fitness if he is ready. The last thing we need against Manly is another Ben Henry type incident and a panic reshuffle.

Wouldn't have Robson, don't think Konnies adding much at the moment so wouldn't use him.

Thompson back in and I gues TL Snr is about our only option in the halves

I agree TL needs to run around in reserve grade, although Robson is a liability, the attack is starting to click with his passing, need to get some rust off Thomas first.

Does anyone think kata will be cited for that tackle, I didn’t see much driving down, but he might get a week, if so konrad to replace him. Konnie would have to play his ass off in a starting role to keep himself in the teams plans. Kata is on fire, but seems to have a bit of a knee complaint, so a week off might not be the worst thing.

Manu probably won’t make it, so it’ll be Wright, although is Fusitua still alive? Has anyone heard from him? He looked like a future star in 2014. You’d think 2 years on he’d have hardened up a bit. Maybe he never will.

Thompson pushes Vete into Hurrels bench spot. If Luke gets through 80 again, then this might be Tevaga’s last week, really like him, but probably better served with a real forward (Shaun Lane?)

In a few weeks we could run a bench with 4 out of Gubb, Vete, Lisone, Lane, Gavet and Sao – that’s finally some big warriors forwards – a long way from a bench featuring a hooker and a centre.

I wasn’t confident yesterday but I think we should be well favored in this one, Manly firing up in a brookvale game against a big Sydney rival is one thing, another week with makeshift halves at mt smart, a loss would be a nasty set back.

I can see it both ways but personally I think leaving Lolohea on the wing is the way to go.
He's finally shown a top quality game at wing a position we don't have huge depth in.
Let's just enjoy having the the best right side winger we have had in a long time and deal with our halves in some other way.

I think the future of team builds will involve backline cover on the bench instead of a hooker. In all the games we lost we have a centre or winger go down, that, I assume, is why we're currently carrying Konrad. Running Allwood or Fusitua on the bench means if hooker or half goes down Lolohea goes to half or Tommy goes to Hooker and Lolohea comes in. Then you play your backline cover and balance is restored. Manu goes down? Straight swap off the bench! That way you avoid the situation of having Nate Roache playing centre and being humiliated.
